You may hear coyotes and a great horned owl at night. There is a honey bee themed gift shop on site that is regularly open Thu-Sat 10-6 that offers tastings and tours. There is a restroom and small sink area connected to store that is open 24 hrs. There are 2 LONG RV spots up to 45 feet in length BUT, they are back in only and the turn around area is tight if you have a BIG RIG. The 2 camper van sites are (Site 1) 32' and (Site 2) 22'. The trail head is accessed by a dirt road that winds around our corn field and into the woods, and can be accessed by any vehicle in normal weather conditions. We will provide warning/refunds if the river road becomes 4x4 only. Fishing is allowed with a valid Texas fishing license. There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please (day or night!).

John helped guide us to a spot that had enough vertical clearance for our RTT and helped us get our “camp kitchen” setup. It’s a beautiful property - we didn’t get to explore as much as we would have liked because it rained but we will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to P² Farm | Scenic River Camping

My friends and I had an absolute blast on the pasture mingle campsite. I will say though, if you’re looking for a lot of privacy, you’ll probably want to go with the mother tree location. Since this campsite is next to the barn where horse rides begin, there were people coming in and out a lot during our stay. Didn’t bother us, and we preferred being right up next to the horses, with two sheep roaming and playing around for us to watch. I’d recommend this spot to families with kids who like animals, and the mother tree location for people who want more of the private river spot. Overall we were very pleased.

Sheri and Johnny were extremely kind and hospitable hosts. We enjoyed the privacy of the campsites that were available (couldn’t see any of the other guests unless you went looking)! Very convenient if you’re looking to visit Hamilton pools which is just five minutes away. Also our favorite point was that it’s in an area with little/less light pollution from the city and so we were able to get really nice stargazing views!

I kinda really don’t even want to leave a review because I don’t want the secret getting out. But this camp site is just amazing if you know what you’re getting into! It’s rustic, bring your own table and water rustic. But for that “downside” you get so many upsides. The quiet, ooooh the quiet. The stars and the quiet make you forget you’re only 30 minutes from home. The hosts are amazing, friendly, and on top of everything on the facility. As an example, there was a shortage of tp in one of the bathrooms, no big deal, I keep tp in the truck for this reason. But next time I went in (next morning) it was stocked! It’s the little things in that really and truly make this place incredible.

John’s place is in a great location—15 min to San Marcos and 35 min to Wimberley. He’s a quirky San Marcos local; super nice guy and very accommodating. The neighbors have farm animals and we enjoyed watching/listening to them. There’s only 1 spot that will fit an RV or bus, which is right on the fence line next to the neighbors. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time here! Sites were large enough to accommodate 2 vehicles and a tent, plus 3 dogs. Bathrooms at the front were clean, plus a hose nearby for non potable water. We had fire wood delivered to our site a couple of times and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Texas Honey Bee Farm

My stay was fabulous. I was greeted when I arrived by Tanya and soon met her sweet bitsy Yorkie baby. I was fortunate to get there while the store was still open. So many beautiful bottles of delicious honey that I shared with my son and daughter. They were thrilled to have local honey. Thank you Tanya I will be back!

Weekend Trip to P² Farm | Scenic River Camping

My girlfriend and I had a magical weekend at the ranch. It was easy to find- close to Georgetown which has a nice market on Saturdays- yet remote enough to stargaze. We rode horses and played with the goats, ponies, and a litter of 8 7-week old puppies. At night the hosts brought us plenty of firewood for our spot near the horse pasture. It was a very fun and friendly experience all around.
