We had a full group out this weekend and this spot did not disappoint! The views throughout the property were amazing and the drive in was a site to behold. Fritz and Ken were extremely hospitable and welcoming. The property is beautiful. Looking forward to taking my wife out later this year.

Fantastic camping on some of the most beautiful land in Texas - this place seriously rivals all Texas state parks. Beautiful topography combined with natural springs and diverse wildlife make this ranch a must see. We saw quail, turkey, whitetail, red stag (including an albino), javelina, horned frog, bass, sunfish, etc. The landowner and his assistant were extremely helpful when it came to booking the reservations, driving directions and navigating the property. Also, there are no cattle on the property, which is nice when it comes to walking around (no landmines to avoid).

My sister and I loved camping here! Very beautiful land and the creek was clear and the frogs serenaded us to sleep. Will definitely be back! And the stars were unbelievable! Thank you Fritz for sharing your piece of paradise with us

Weekend Trip to Indian Blanket Ranch - Utopia Texas

This is an amazing find and a great weekend getaway! It was my favorite HipCamp find so far. The cabin is very secluded and quiet. The nature trails are beautiful and very well maintained. Leann was very responsive to messages and a great host. There is a gate around the cabin to keep your fur babies close. We had clear skies and enjoyed star gazing in the hot tub. I can’t wait to return!

My buddy and I decided to test out our new calling set ups at LAF. It was a decent drive but worth it. The owner is very nice and informative. The description was accurate, you cannot beat the views from the ridge. We spent time checking out each campsite, each offer a cool and unique experience. Best part besides the views, no cell service. Unplug from everyday life and enjoy nature.

This cabin is perfect, tucked among tall trees, completely peaceful, and beautifully secluded. It’s the perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature, and feel truly away from it all. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful property to explore with endless hills and water holes. Our family (kids & dog) loved every minute of it and we especially liked the lack of cell service so we could truly disconnect! We hope to be back soon.

One of the best experiences I had, the night stars, the spaces... The place is huuge. The directions to get there are kinda tricky, you just need to trust and keep going forward. Went with wife, daughter and two dogs. Totally amazing

We loved staying at Frit's Ranch! We thought his land was beautiful and even getting to it the scenery was amazing. If you want a place thats quiet and secluded then don't think twice about reserving a spot here! Very beautiful and well kept.

We loved tent camping on Fritz's ranch! So much to enjoy and explore. Falling asleep at night with to the sound of the river and coyotes singing was amazing. Definitely will be back again. Fritz is a warm, friendly host and made us feel very welcomed.

We enjoyed our stay at Laf Ranch and plan to try out another one of the spots on the ranch next time we visit. Ladder Swimming Hole is great for kids and we appreciated being able to walk the property.

The beauty of this hill country land is amazing. Quiet and peaceful. My family and I enjoyed the clear water of the swimming hole, it was cool but perfect when the sun was over us. Wilson is very nice, helpful and fun guy! He was a great guide showing us all around the property and giving us options as to our campsite. There’s plenty of space for small or large groups. We got the opportunity to enjoy the less rough off-road trails and saw some beautiful views. If you’re lucky enough like we were, you’ll get to enjoy all the adventures this property has to offer.

Wow, what a cool campsite! My 11yo son loved the teepee in the site and playing in the river pools just below. Sleeping was easy with the sounds of live water. Bring your Hammocks as there are several trees, some already with tied ropes, to stretch out in. The entire ranch was a treat to visit. We will be back!

I really enjoyed my time camping out on the ranch. This is a very unique opportunity that is not often found in the Texas Hill Country and very fortunate to have found this spot and thankful to Fritz for opening up his property to share the experience with others. Stayed at the pond camp site and it was very secluded and relaxing alongside a beautiful clear creek. Would highly recommend!

Mr. Faust has such a beautiful place. We had so much fun hiking, and taking in the beautiful views. Super remote, not a single bit of cell service… exactly what we were looking for for our family camping trip!

Truly breathtaking views! If you are looking for a place to disconnect from our busy lives, this is your spot. My husband and our two boys enjoyed ourselves more than we thought we would. There’s always something to do. We wish we could’ve stayed longer. Thank you Mr. Fritz for sharing the Teepee with us! The teepee was definitely icing on the cake! Can’t wait to be back.

Trust me you need to camp here. Look no further than this. I can almost guarantee you this will be one of the best places you’ve ever camped at. Mr. Fritz, was extremely friendly and really wants everyone who stays here to have a great experience. If you have your own water filtration system then you’ll an abundance of drinking water. 1100 acres of gorgeous natural land at the headwaters of the Medina River. Crystal clear and clean spring feed water. Fourth-generation family owners. Remote camping. Very private with plenty of varied terrain for hiking swimming, tubing, biking or just hanging out in a hammock enjoying the breeze and peace and quiet. About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING Free firewood for use during your stay and can make a good deal if you want to take some home! As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2. My great great grandfather established this ranch in the late 1870's and our family still lives here today. We are located in Real county just north of Leakey, Texas on US Highway 83. Our campsites are on the head waters of the West prong of the Frio River. Our Grapevine Springs have continuous flow the year round. You will enjoy the gurgling creek, hiking, swimming, solitude and our sunrises and sunsets, and big and bright stars in the night sky. We have tall hills and hardwood trees, Spanish oaks, Escarpment Cherry, Black walnut, live oaks and other oaks. We have wild animals; white tail deer, turkey, hogs and exotics and seasonally songbirds and butterflies on the ranch.
