Weekend Trip to Wayne’s Land

I can’t recommend Hart’s Corner enough. Had a perfect spot on a peninsula. Beautiful views. Hart made sure we were well taken care of once we set up. Good fishing, especially if you can bring a small kayak and get out to the tree line.

It was a great spot to camp. Simple get away with lake front view. We kayaked and canoed with our dog. The campsite was clean and it was convenient to have the compost toilet. We were able to pull right up to the site with our SUV and roof top tent set up. It was fun star gazing and watching the bats hunt over the water.

1 night at Seven Acres Campground

The Fireman’s Bunker and all the other cabins are just lovely inside! This was the perfect place for our grandchildren’s first camping experience.

2 nights at Seven Acres Campground

Joey and Cindy recently set up a gazebo! It has a mini table fire, cushioned seats, and a large speaker. It was very comforting to use for warmth, especially since we went during a really windy time. Cindy and Joey were very sweet and informative and gave us tips for our 3 day trip. The claw tub is also massive and perfect for showering and bathing. This was a very peaceful and cozy getaway!

2 nights at Seven Acres Campground

We had a super cozy and relaxing stay! The bathhouse was actually really nice and the heater in it could get it toasty in there (it got pretty cold at night when we went). The cabin was warm too of course, I just didn't expect to spend so much time in a bathroom while camping (there is a huge claw foot tub in there that was too tempting for us). There was a surprise in the middle of the campsite when we got there, a gazebo just got added which was a really cool bonus since we got to be the first to take it for a spin. It was super windy so unfortunately a campfire was out of the question (this was a problem for anyone out camping so what can you do). Luckily the gazebo that Joey & Cindy added had a pretty wind proof gas powered fire to sit around in it so that saved the day. There is also a grill so we were able to still cook no problem too of course. We definitely recommend staying!

Weekend Trip to Barefoot Gee's

My family and I would absolutely recommend this place! The host was over-the-top accommodating and offered tons of activities for the kids. The campsites were well laid out with lots of trees, there was so much space for the kids to safely explore and for the dogs to roam. We did pay for the electricity option, and the ropes course for the kids. The outhouse was very clean.

The day before we left, my girlfriend and I wanted to extend the stay by a day, but the app wasn’t working with us. Anthony (who had just restocked the firewood while we were gone. We didn’t need to ask, we just came back from a drive and it was restocked) came down to meet us. I sent him the money for the extra night on Zelle and we called it even. Nice people, nice campsite, will likely be back

1 night at Petra D.’s Land

So, there was some mixup with Petra's getting the reservation.... not certain what happened there, but they were gracious and gave me permission to stay the night. I car camp and my spot was level. I was safe and there were no other campers. My purpose was only to avoid the cost of motels as I drive cross country and this served the purpose.

Such a cozy place to stay, was on my first solo trip and I felt SO safe and the host were the sweetest. They also had a nice heated bathroom to get ready in and a good outdoor kitchen space, great if you van camp!

I loved camping on Wayne's land. Everything was quiet and clean. We loved being able to canoe on the lake. The compost toilet was nice and secluded. Would definitely stay here again.

4 nights at Lindale, Coyote Camping/Yurt/Tiny

Everything about this campsite, and our host were awesome! Easy booking, check-in, and access. Hart was communicative, friendly and very welcoming. We arrived around 2:30, drove straight into camp, clearly marked with signs, we took in the awesome view, then got set up for the night. Hart checked in with us soon after we arrived and made sure we were all set, and gave us his personal contact info if we needed anything. Extremely friendly guy. The next day when it came to checking out, we left a bit early but Hart made sure to text us to make sure that everything went okay. The site itself was beautiful with easy access, plenty of wood around for a fire, we fished for a bit in the lake, and then watched the stars before bed. It did get quite chilly but that’s to be expected in January! We will surely be back as this was a perfect camping trip!! Thanks, Hart!

We stayed on the peninsula and it was an amazing spot with direct access to the lake. Views were great, the spot had privacy and the host Hart was readily available for anything we might have needed. Not hard to get to at all, I would recommend this spot to anyone wanting to explore Caddo lake. Thank you again Hart for sharing your property with us!

We loved our couple of days at the schoolhouse. It rained one of the 2 days out there, but we had the place all to ourselves since we were there the two days after Christmas.

It has extended acreage with multiple ecosystems. I just found a spring and will be doing livestock. There is yurt and tiny house for rent. There is an RV plug, electricity (extra fee), and a water hose. The site is close to downtown Lindale (5 minutes) restaurants and shopping. 15 minutes from tyler. It is country living but still close to city action. The lower parts of the property require 4-wheel drive, but the top has water and electricity, so any car is fine. As this is an outdoor area, there are bugs and critters. Wayne’s Land

Our homestead is a few acres in East Texas, near Hawkins. The land has been untouched for about 30 years, maybe last used for cattle grazing. We're keeping the property as natural as possible, we live here off-grid and off-pipe. There’s a 17 acre lake that we share with neighbors. It’s full of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, we encourage catch and keep fishing since the lake could use a little fishing pressure. We also have a beaver pond, and resident beaver. Some of the wildlife we see regularly: fireflies, turtles, cardinals, bluejays, hummingbirds, kite birds, frogs, opossums, armadillos, beaver, river otter, road runners and rabbits. These plants live here too: Beautyberry, Dewberry, Pokeberry, Sparkleberry, Dogfennel, Dogwood, Yaupon Holly, Holly, Wax Myrtle, Sassafras , Lyreleaf Sage, Carolina Crane’s bill, Coral Honeysuckle, Western White Honeysuckle, Smooth Cat’s Ear, Daisy Fleabane, Prairie Onion, Mullein, Summer Grape, Water Lily. The entire water lily plant is edible, did you know? Swim, hang out, cool down on the small swimming dock. Canoe and kayak included! Based on shared availability, we have 1 two person canoe, and 3 kayaks for use on our lake free of charge. There are smaller size adult life jackets and oars/paddles. Bring your own life jackets for kids. About the Bees Please do not bring or use any insect killer or insect repellent other than what you apply to your own body. We have several honey bee colonies living here and our neighbor keeps bees as well. For the safety and health of our bees, the use of man made insect killers or repellents on the ground, in the air or on the foliage is absolutely not allowed. One natural remedy is diatomaceous earth. Sprinkled on the ground, it does a good job at keeping ants and crawling creatures away. Brookshire's in Hawkins less than 4 miles away if you need supplies. Verizon, ATT users have cell coverage here, no signal for T-Mobile users. LGBTQ+ friendly.

Bring your own life jackets for kids. About the Bees Please do not bring or use any insect killer or insect repellent other than what you apply to your own body. We have several honey bee colonies living here and our neighbor keeps bees as well. For the safety and health of our bees, the use of man made insect killers or repellents on the ground, in the air or on the foliage is absolutely not allowed. One natural remedy is diatomaceous earth. Sprinkled on the ground, it does a good job at keeping ants and crawling creatures away. Brookshire's in Hawkins less than 4 miles away if you need supplies. Most nights we get to enjoy the sounds of several different types of owls. The property has over 1 full mile of nature trails to walk with several seasonal creeks. We also offer farm fresh eggs for sale when they’re available. We are only 10 minutes from Lake Bob Sandlin or 15 minutes from Lake Cypress Springs. The small surrounding towns have several local eateries, fast food, grocery, and fuel options to choose from. Campsites are reachable by capable cars, trucks, SUVs, camper vans, and some vehicles towing small overland style trailers, teardrop, or pop up trailers. NOT accessible by Class B Plus or larger, Travel Trailers, or Fifth Wheels. Small Class B, Sprinter style, and similar should be ok. There is an RV plug, electricity (extra fee), and a water hose. The site is close to downtown Lindale (5 minutes) restaurants and shopping. 15 minutes from tyler. It is country living but still close to city action. The lower parts of the property require 4-wheel drive, but the top has water and electricity, so any car is fine. As this is an outdoor area, there are bugs and critters.
