Like a scene from The Notebook
This was easily my favorite site so far on Hipcamp! The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and the land was gorgeous. Daffodil Hill Lake #1 had a view of the water, nice shady tree coverage, a fire ring, and a large picnic table. We were able to use provided kayaks and a canoe to get on the water, where we went fishing and caught several small fish. The water itself was peaceful, sunny, and even had water lily pads blooming. The composting toilet, while primitive in setup, was clean, well maintained, comfortable, and positioned with a relaxing view. The site felt remote, with only the occasional glimpse of other campers.
The only note I'll give is that the lake is pretty small. It's a perfect spot for quietly putzing around or doing some relaxing fishing, but isn't large enough for any distance or more adventurous exploring. If you're looking for space to kayak/canoe instead of just chill, this probably isn't the right spot.
10/10 would recommend!
