Its very rustic with rolling hills and a lil bit a wildlife....creeks...pet-able goats. It was so peaceful and my kids had a blast. Our lively host was more than hospitable and awesome. Thank you Linda!

We looked online for a place to stop for a night and camp in our van. We were on a trip to see out of state family and found Barefoot Gee's. Linda was a good host and dog, Molly and goats, Dolly and Porter, stopped by our campsite to keep us company for a while.

Great Family Camping
We wanted a camping site all to ourselves with close access to a state park and BarefootGee’s hit the mark. Linda greeted us at the gate and show us the property and campsite options. (We booked the entire property to had our pick). My daughter picked the one across the stream so we portage all our gear over. Was not far and worth it. Linda was a great host, brought us games and extra firewood and let my daughter feed her chickens. There were also 2 cute and friendly goats on the property that entertained my daughter a ton. The property is 10 minutes from Dangerfield State Park and we had never been. Nice little hike up a hill, then back down where we found a stream with 2 small waterfalls where we had lunch we packed. My daughter loves playing in creeks/streams. The next day we went kayaking as well. We liked that the campsite were well maintained, while a portion of he property has not been cleared. Was a bit cold at night while we were there and we burned a lot of wood, but never ran out between what Linda provided and fallen limbs we gathered from the woods. Collecting fire wood and keeping it going is a fun part of camping. Having access to water (we brought a 7 gallon jug we filled at the house) was convenient. Linda is building a pit toilet but he had brought our own LuggaLoo. Fire pits have a nice grill grate. We cooked on it both nights we were there. There is a bit of street noise at night, but when Campaing close to amenities that is going to happen anywhere. Linda provided great communication prior to our arrival and was helpful while giving us our space while we where there. Would recommend for families wanting a quick camping trip that has easy acesss to town buy extra ice or get ice cream after a long hike.

Best camping spot ever!
We had the best time camping here. Lunda had a 2 week old baby goat and she let the kids feed him. They loved playing with porter and dolly, every morning they would come down and greet us. Barefoot Gees is only mins from everything. We took the kids to the rocky point avendentures park and too the Daingerfield state park. Most of all the kids didnt ask for their ipads all weekend. We cant wait to go back!

An East Texas getaway
We were planning a trip last minute and literally booked the property 12 hours before arrival. Linda responded nearly 5 minutes later and welcomed us with open arms. The property is secluded with close proximity to the lake. Linda provided us some of the most flammable firewood. It was perfect for a quick campfire. The few farm animals were a nice addition to the stay. We will definitely be back!!

Amazing!!
This place is definitely a welcoming place. Everything was so clean and beautiful. Linda was an amazing host and made sure we were well taken care of. Gave us a tour of our spot and informed us of some places to explore around the lake as well. We also had lots of wood all around as fuel for our fire, and when it was time to set up our tent, we had the perfect spot. Linda has some very friendly goats roaming around and they might come say hello. Beware, they love food!
I also rented some kayaks that Linda made sure were intruder free(no bugs!:)), and it was such a beautiful experience out at the lake. I definitely recommend taking some out. Dont worry if you can’t fit them on your car, Linda will assist you with that! This was an amazing experience.

We stayed at Barefoot Gee's one night because Caddo Lake state park was completely booked. I am really glad we did stay there. She was super accommodating, and we had a great time. It was really rainy when we arrived, and she gave us extra tarp to stay dry! Would highly recommend.

Beautiful stay in the woods
Wonderful place to camp primitively! Linda is so welcoming and helpful. She even gave our son a little welcome gift. So sweet of her. The campsites are private enough even though the trees are getting pretty bare for winter. We were the only ones out there during the week but if there was other people at the other campsite, there is a tree separation between the two. It was an easy walk to the campsite we stayed at since we brought way too much stuff. Also short drive to two grocery stores and only 10-15 minutes from the beautiful Daingerfield state park. We did a nice 3 mile hike there with some good elevation.

Great Find!
To be clear this was a rugged site, so no running water, and lake access is close, but not on site. That being said, this was an amazing find! Linda is super accommodating and friendly. She really wants people to enjoy their stay!
There are two sites that are about 100 yards apart, and the house is uphill by about 100 yards. She absolutely could squeeze in more sites, but by keeping them separate, she is able to preserve the isolation of each site. If you are looking for a private, quiet, and safe place to camp that is family and pet friendly, this is a wonderful place to stay!
