Weekend Trip to The Retreat @ Borah Farm

The property is absolutely stunning—beautiful views, peaceful surroundings, and a perfect escape into nature. Every corner felt like a hidden gem, from the scenic trails to the serene spots ideal for relaxing and taking it all in. What made the experience even better were the hosts. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. You can really tell they care about their land and the people who visit it. I can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful ranch to enjoy tranquility. So green, a beautiful pond. Laundry on site too was a great thing to have access to on a long trip. Would love to come again if we come through that way again.

Host is very friendly and responsive but not intrusive, they go above and beyond to ensure enjoyment of your stay with them. Lots of space and very friendly pup neighbors to wear your (friendly) pups out! Stay with them if needing a place to stay in Tyler, you won’t be disappointed!

The Fireman’s Bunker and all the other cabins are just lovely inside! This was the perfect place for our grandchildren’s first camping experience.

Joey and Cindy recently set up a gazebo! It has a mini table fire, cushioned seats, and a large speaker. It was very comforting to use for warmth, especially since we went during a really windy time. Cindy and Joey were very sweet and informative and gave us tips for our 3 day trip. The claw tub is also massive and perfect for showering and bathing. This was a very peaceful and cozy getaway!

The Victorian room is furnished from the turn of the century with a few modern conveniences thrown in.

2 nights at Seven Acres Campground

We had a super cozy and relaxing stay! The bathhouse was actually really nice and the heater in it could get it toasty in there (it got pretty cold at night when we went). The cabin was warm too of course, I just didn't expect to spend so much time in a bathroom while camping (there is a huge claw foot tub in there that was too tempting for us). There was a surprise in the middle of the campsite when we got there, a gazebo just got added which was a really cool bonus since we got to be the first to take it for a spin. It was super windy so unfortunately a campfire was out of the question (this was a problem for anyone out camping so what can you do). Luckily the gazebo that Joey & Cindy added had a pretty wind proof gas powered fire to sit around in it so that saved the day. There is also a grill so we were able to still cook no problem too of course. We definitely recommend staying!

Weekend Trip to Caddo Springs Farm

Beautiful nature and native wildlife. Tom gave us a tour of his animals, explain what they do, and let us hold a baby lamb! Definitely one of favorite camping trips ever and can't wait to come back.

The day before we left, my girlfriend and I wanted to extend the stay by a day, but the app wasn’t working with us. Anthony (who had just restocked the firewood while we were gone. We didn’t need to ask, we just came back from a drive and it was restocked) came down to meet us. I sent him the money for the extra night on Zelle and we called it even. Nice people, nice campsite, will likely be back

So, there was some mixup with Petra's getting the reservation.... not certain what happened there, but they were gracious and gave me permission to stay the night. I car camp and my spot was level. I was safe and there were no other campers. My purpose was only to avoid the cost of motels as I drive cross country and this served the purpose.

We love hosting campers and work toward making sure folks feel welcome and comfortable. We were living in the north Dallas area but always had a desire to buy some land and have a little more 'elbow room'. We were avid RVers for many years, but when that chapter closed, we missed 'glamping'. When we found our property, we knew we wanted to share this beauty, nature, and space with others as a campground. Heavenly Haven & Hideaways has been a God-inspired project, born out of our love for people, adventure, and the outdoors. Our beautiful property has RV and tent camping and we also have 2 cabins for short and mid-term rental. We're within a few miles of Tyler State Park which is great for bike riding & swimming in their lake. You can also rent paddle boats there. We're within a few miles of the Tyler Zoo -which is a surprisingly excellent zoo. There are several museums, shopping areas, and great food establishments in and around Tyler. It has extended acreage with multiple ecosystems. I just found a spring and will be doing livestock. There is yurt and tiny house for rent. There is an RV plug, electricity (extra fee), and a water hose. The site is close to downtown Lindale (5 minutes) restaurants and shopping. 15 minutes from tyler. It is country living but still close to city action. The lower parts of the property require 4-wheel drive, but the top has water and electricity, so any car is fine. As this is an outdoor area, there are bugs and critters. I have never had a problem, but this is notice that you agree to assume all liability and responsibility for your party by camping at this property. NEW: Starlink Satellite Internet!
