I had such a great experience at this campsite! Wonderful secluded spot where you really feel connected with nature. Lots of land you can explore and my dog was able to roam around freely. Host was very nice and responsive and even helped fill up our air mattress when our air pump wasn’t working. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice camping spot near the water!

Very nice. Very relaxing. We caught two bass in the lake but let them go. My city dogs did not know what to do with the frogs and crickets making noise. It was so nice letting my dogs off the leash and giving them freedom.

This was such a neat spot. On a beautiful property with a great lake for fishing and playing in the water. The land steward Brandon was a pretty neat guy who took care of the property and us the guest wonderfully !

We really enjoyed tent camping at Camp Joy! We felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves and fully took advantage of it. Paddle boarding in the morning, afternoon and evening with our dog while watching the sunrise and sunset was pure bliss. Unlimited firewood was a huge plus and boy did our steaks taste better than ever cooking over it! Eating under the stars surrounded by the sounds of frogs was magical. Lastly, having a flushable toilet and hot shower was an added bonus. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Camping at Geronimo's land reminded me of camping as a Boy Scout in my early teens. It was awesome to share the nostalgia with my daughter as we roasted marshmallows over the campfire. We were able to enjoy all that the place had to offer, like the rope swing into the frigid Colorado river, fishing poles available at the riverside, the strategically placed hammock providing a peaceful, relaxing view of the water and even the little old play park. Our stay was uninterrupted, except for the welcomed firewood delivery on the first night. This facilitated the great Daddy-Daughter Camping tradition we have come to enjoy annually. PS. This is not glamping, this place is for REAL CAMPERS (you know yourselves).

6 of us camped out right by the river. The host crew was extremely accommodating making sure we had enough wood, and offering us the fish they caught! It felt secluded and like our own little slice of paradise. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can!!

We loved staying at Camp Joy! The land was beautiful, the bathroom was clean and the shower was really nice. The view of the water from our tent was so beautiful and it was so peaceful. There is some road noise but it wasn't overbearing. An abundance of firewood was already provided at each campsite as well which was great! We did have a puppy come visit us that wandered onto the campsite from across the street. We didn't mind and he was super friendly. We actually really enjoyed the little guy, haha. We also saw the cat Duchess that lives on the property who was sweet as well. Overall it was a trip full of animals and beautiful views. Will definitely want to come again!

We were close to the river for fishing. The campsite was clean and quiet, the host were friendly and brought you firewood the first evening there and also checked on everyone each day. Our 3 little dogs loved the area and we went for long walks during the day.

The Texas Music River Ranch is 111 acres located in the quaint village of Webberville, Texas, only 20 miles east of downtown Austin. The large oak and pecan trees amid the rolling green hills of this gorgeous ranch land are nestled on the banks of the lazy Colorado River. Swim, kayak, or canoe...but there’s no better way to beat the legendary Texas heat than by grabbing an inner tube and enjoying a calm, steady float along a river known for an abundance of fossils and its wildlife. Bring your own tubes, kayaks and canoes, we are currently replenishing our inventory. Or perhaps you prefer to fish the shady tree-lined banks. Either way, you'll see a variety of birds while you relax on or beside the cool waters of the Colorado River. We're kid and dog friendly (leashes mandatory) and we love musicians. Bring an instrument and join us for an impromptu jam session in our special events room or around the campfire. Cook dinner on our BBQ pit. Firewood is available onsite A few rules... 1. Check in is before sunset. We ask that all Hipcampers wait at gate for staff to guide you to your location for safety reasons. Contact us if you arrive ahead of schedule. 2. No wondering by the upper level cabins (these are private property). Showers are behind these cabins. Please respect staff spaces. 3. If you have an extra vehicle, please park it with your other vehicle. 4. If you have a 3rd extra vehicle, let us know and we will direct you where to park it. 5. Several State Parks surround Lake Somerville, the closest from this location is "Birch Creek State Park" with beautiful hiking trails. Highly recommend the drive to check the Parks out. Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. The "Aggieland Wild Animal Safari" is outside of Bryan College Station and is a great place to take the kids to interact with all kinds of animals. Offers a drive-thru in which you can drive thru as many times as you want, as well as a petting zoo and gift shop. And, if you like shopping, there are lots of antique shops and wineries at Round Top, another scenic drive about 45 minutes away. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! Coushatte Recreation Ranch stands out as a unique destination in Bellville, Texas, thanks to its rich history and connection to the land once inhabited by the Coushatte Indians. Established in 1877 by the Nelius Family, the ranch began as a cotton and cattle farming operation, utilizing horses in the fields until 1948. In the 1950s, Trenckmann Nelius diversified the ranch by introducing chicken and egg production, while still raising cattle and growing maize to feed the chickens. In 1973, Trenckmann and Margie Nelius transformed their vision into reality by founding Coushatte Recreation Ranch, initially offering just 24 campsites. Over the years, the campground has expanded significantly to accommodate 225 sites, complete with full hookups for both 30 and 50 amp service. The campground's name pays homage to the Coushatte Indians, and visitors can explore an Indian Mound on the property, where numerous arrowheads have been discovered. After many years of dedicated management, Trenckmann and Margie passed the torch to their son Howard and his wife Pamela, who operated the ranch until November 2019. The campground is now under the ownership of George Jarkesy, who aims to enhance the experience for guests.
