Not really a ‘HipCamp’, or what we look for in a ‘HipCamp’ (small, off the beaten track, private owner) but Oak Forrest is an excellent, modern, well maintained, full service RV (and mini-home) Park.
We stayed here at short notice, another HipCamp provider let us down, and booked in a rush (with little research) as we were visiting Austin for the ACL Music Festival. We spent very little time indeed actually at the RV Park but couldn’t fault it in anyway.
While not ‘cheap’ we thought it good value.
So, if we were visiting Austin and wanted this type of up-scale RV Park experience, we would certainly use it again. Of its type, I’d consider it excellent.

The space was extremely clean and well maintained. The barn was spacious and had stylish elements throughout. There were horses that loved apples fed to them! It was a very charming piece of land, and the Host was extremely hospitable. I stayed (4) nights and have nothing but positive things to say. I will definitely be going back, and plan to stay longer next time.

Very close to Austin (and to civilization) which was convenient but still had a very secluded and country vibe. Russell was very communicative throughout preparations for my visit to make sure every one of my needs was met. During our stay he connected a giant box fanto keep us cool, hooked up our grill so we could eat, and brought water to put out our fire without being asked. Excellent and accomodating host.
Place has more amenities than advertised. We were surprised to find a trampoline, tug-o-war, a speaker setup in the barn even. Wonderful spot that was very pretty to enjoy at night when the lights came on. Will be returning for another visit someday.

We had such a fun and relaxing time with the family! The pool was a big hit, and the location made it easy to explore downtown. The amenities were great reliable Wi-Fi, a dog washing station, propane refill, and even a gym for a quick workout. We'll definitely be coming back with the family and our pups they absolutely loved the dog station!

The campgrounds are fenced and gated. Also well maintained, with a functional restroom and shower. Plenty of space to set up camp and play outdoor games.
The owner, Mark, is super helpful and a very welcoming person. Our site was set up with stacked firewood and logs ready to light in the pit. Canoes and paddles were also available and ready for use at the river bank.
This place is a Fisherman’s Dream come true!!!
I landed big fish and often. My 4 year old reeled in his first fish. I caught [ 7 ] Bass ( Large Mouth & Small ) [ 1 ] Catfish, [ 2 ] Spotted Gar, and a 14” Black Crappie!
We had a great time and some seriously fond family memories were made! This was my boy’s first camping trip and he wants to go back already!
