2 nights at Secluded, great hill country views

We stayed here while visiting Texas for our friend’s Air Force graduation—it’s about 45 minutes from the base. The views were amazing and the whole area felt peaceful and private, perfect for anyone who prefers space over crowded campgrounds. Cows roam freely around the property, which was really cool to see—just watch your step for cow patties! 😆 The gravel road to the site is a bit steep and rough, so we were definitely glad to have four-wheel drive. We travel with two dogs, and the owners were super considerate—they kept their own dog in a separate yard during our stay. That made things much easier and more relaxing for us. We didn’t get a chance to try out the swimming hole, but it looked absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a peaceful, RV stay with a Texas hill country vibe!

Seco Ridge Campground is isolated but close to town and the park for swimming fishing. The tent spots are big areas, you can find some amazing views and on Sat nights they have a band come out and play. Woody and his wife Jessica are super nice people who will engage in conversation with you. If you want a nice peaceful relaxing get away this is the spot. Already planning my return trip.

I loved camping out on Fritz’s land! The landscape is so beautiful and it was so peaceful out there. So many different species of birds to hear and see. The water is crystal clear and refreshing to take a dip in! Definitely planning on going back out there in the future!

Weekend Trip to Secluded, great hill country views

What an incredible find! During the hot Texas summer, having a place to swim while camping is a must—and this spot delivered in every way. We’re always on the lookout for peaceful, private getaways that aren’t overcrowded, and this place checked all the boxes. Getting to our RV spot was no issue, and the hookups made everything super convenient. Our 21-foot trailer fit perfectly and was easy to maneuver. Despite there being others on the property, the layout ensured plenty of privacy and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The real highlight? The swimming hole—it was absolutely perfect! Even our pup, who uses a wheelchair, had a blast swimming and cooling off. It was heartwarming to see him enjoy it so much. One of my favorite parts was watching the baby cows roam and play. I even got the chance to feed them treats—such a special experience! We loved every minute and can’t wait to come back!

Heaven on earth! Everything was so wonderful about my stay. Driving in, was an amazing adventure to start the trip. I had no issues with my 2wd coupe and there are a few times you cross over a bit of water. Fritz was an amazing host! I added burgers on to my trip so I didn't have to cook at night and he went above and beyond to make sure my stay was pleasant and comfortable. Thank you so much Fritz. Staying at the big pond site was unreal! Just me and my dog there and as a single female I would like to note, we felt so safe out there. We hiked around the huge property during the day and saw some of the other camp spots that are amazing too (I'm quite partial to big pond though) great hiking, and relaxing. It rained both nights which cooled the nights off. There was no flooding issues and we stayed dry in our tent (but make sure to have a rain fly or tarps just in case!) I cannot wait to visit again. It was truly a slice of heaven for me and my pup.

Weekend Trip to Grapevine Springs Retreat

Words cannot express how incredible this place is. Shaded campsite with large coverage, places to sit, shade, furnished grills, great fire pits for both hanging and cooking, hammocks, swings, swim pool for the kids with a rock slide, this place is amazing! Oh and did I forget to mention zebras & oryx!?! It can’t get better than this beautiful place. Definitely pay for all of the extras like Wilson’s tour & don’t miss the sunset on 2 bar hill. Enjoy it!! Our whole family did! See you every year for more memories!!

Our stay at Hillside Live Oak Grove was incredible. William was such a kind and helpful host super communicative, always quick to respond, and made us feel very welcome. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Our campsite was private, quiet, and felt far from everything, perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. There’s also a great fire ring where we made a lovely campfire under the stars 🔥🌌 We’d 100% recommend this spot to anyone looking for a calm and scenic place to camp. We truly loved it and can’t wait to come back!

The place was an amazing stay when the lights came on during setup. It was an amazing, beautiful night, and I was able to take some amazing pictures. It was the perfect night.

Weekend Trip to Memmie’s Farm

The two camping sites near the river (Medina and Riverside) were perfect for our group! Ellie’s property was lovely, secluded, and peaceful. Lots of deer, and hummingbirds! A short walking distance from the river, which was flowing great. It was wonderful to have the clean, well-kept outhouse for our 4 day visit, along with blocks for our fire and a trash barrel. Ellie was very friendly, respectful of our space, and attentive- with very clear instructions. We will be visiting again! Thank you Memmie’s Farm!

About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2. Please note that the hot tub is only included if all 4 tents are booked. Our common areas include 2 showers, 2 toilets, 1 extra large sink area connected to the bathrooms, 2 grills and 4 large picnic tables, a bar and coffee station, a fire pit, hammocks and a rope swing. This space is perfect for any family celebration, reunion, birthday party, ect! It is tucked away at the bottom of the property so you get the space to yourself. IMPORTANT! There is an additional $25/yurt if you want to use the hot tub during your stay. Guest access When you arrive at our house you will park in our circle driveway and walk through the double green gates down the hill to the glampsite. (To the left past the house) The road is slippery/steep so please use the steps. Backpack recommended for easier up and down! You can roll a cooler down the (steep) road! Other things to note Each of the four bell tents are equipped with an AC unit, beds, heater, pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, electrical outlets, twinkle lights, and a lantern. Light switch to main Edison lights are located on the side table near hot tub outlets.

French Connection Wines is right next door and the renowned William Chris Vineyards is just 1 mile away. Not to be missed is the Garrison Brother's Bourbon Distillery, less than a mile down the street – you could even walk to all three! Our property features a shared, covered outdoor patio with a games court for corn hole, checkers, and bocce (checkers, boards and balls provided), gas fire pit, and a gas grill for those cooler nights. The patio is lighted with cafe lights. One of the RV slips is covered, while the other is nestled under a charming burr oak tree. On-site, we also offer a rental cabin. The covered RV slip is equipped with 30 and 50 amps, the other hookup is 50 amp, both have their own water and clean out connections. Both RV slips are on grass/dirt, and the entrance/exit is grass and dirt. Our property uses rain water recapture. Please conserve water when you can when cooking, washing up and cleaning. No washing of cars or RVs is allowed. Please note that there might be other guests staying on the property during your visit. Kindly be considerate of noise levels and how it may impact the experience of fellow guests. You may also be sharing amenities such as the grill, deck, outdoor kitchen, and games court. We welcome dogs, but it is your responsibility to manage their interactions with other guests' pets. Due to potential gaps or larger openings in the fencing, we recommend keeping your dog on a leash. The owners live on the far side of the property. The rest of the property is left natural for wildlife, so expect uneven terrain, tall grasses, and yes sometimes scorpions, spiders and snakes along with deer, armadillo, wild turkeys, and lots of songbirds.
