Plenty of shade and water surrounded us on all three sides at the site we were at! Grass everywhere! Caught some nice sized Catfish too. Cows and goats were friendly. Definitely coming back in the Fall when it's not as hot. Billy was super nice he came down and checked on us.

Plenty of shade and lush Green grass all over! Caught a couple 9-10 lbs catfish and saw some Alligator Gar too! River runs on pretty much all 3 sides. Definitely plan on coming back in the Fall when it's not as hot. Very quite and Billy has friendly cows and goats on the property.

Camping solo on the Guadalupe River
This is a beautiful and peaceful spot on the Guadalupe River. Plenty of shade trees and room to wander around . I took my dogs and they had a blast as well as me. This was my first solo camping trip by myself and I felt totally safe. I loved the sound of waking up to the birds singing and the night time got a special treat of an nearby owl hooting . I sat by the river and watched the fish ( and yes there are some big fish in that river ) come to the surface and even come close to the shore. One of my favorite things was to watch the cows from the opposite side of the bank come down for their evening drink and dip in the water . I did have one night of some rain but instead of ruining my trip i loved the sound of the rain on my car roof- I did end up sleeping in the car with a car tent. Billy was wonderful as a host and I would like to thank him again for allowing me to stay on his little spot of heaven . I would highly recommend camping here and I plan to go back again

Billy has two amazing campsites on the Guadalupe river. Both are very secluded, and far from each other. Camping here feels like dispersed camping. We stayed in campsite 1. The site is surrounded on three sides by the river, has lots a shade trees and a handful of friendly cows, sheep, goats and shepherd dogs may wander nearby. Billy is very friendly and helpful. This is my favorite hipcamp so far.

July 31, 2022 with record heat wave and a drought. You'd think those things were enough to keep us away? Think again. We had a blast. The Guadalupe was low, but you really couldnt tell. We were able to swim, fish and boat it. No problems. Heat was over 100 degrees, but there was a pleasant breeze, along with plenty of shade, that made it tolerable. Several large pecan trees were a great source of shade and nice to look at. Access road wasnt a problem to get in and out. Some off terrain, but moderate conditions. Most vehicles I'd think would make it. There were animals; domesticated cows, goats and dogs. All stayed to themselves. Cows and dogs were friendly enough to pet. Nice spot. Would return again.

I loved camping on Billy’s land! We backed our truck right by the river and had great views. The water was low but we didn’t mind you could still get in and cool off! Very secluded and perfect camping spot. Billy met us at the main road and led us to the spot. His goats were also an added plus :)
