 We have always enjoyed camping, scuba diving and travel... anything outdoors. We made a promise that If ever given the chance to share that joy with others we would and make it a great experience. We searched and searched  looked at a lot of properties North of the Woodlands,  to build our home. On a Saturday morning, my husband told me about a dream of 3 very tall and Magnificent Trees, soaring way up in the sky.  A few days later we were walking through the forest looking at a 20 acre tract of land for sale with our realtor, I'm thinking, "oh how would we ever get this cleared, this is a lot of work"  Then, up ahead was a clearing and right in the middle were 3 of the tallest, most magnificent Cedar trees. Tired of the city ordinances that restricted raising fouls, I decided to look for an acreage that is not too far nor too close to the city and which allowed the raising of farm animals. As of this writing, we have 2 beautiful heifers, 18 sheep, and colorful giant kois in the pond that once in a while can be seen when they swim near the surface. We built a log cabin in the 17-acre property in preparation for downsizing when the boys go to to college. But when our neighbors had to move back to England, they sold us their house and 11-acre land. With the cabin on the 17-acre now vacant, we decided to open it for camping (on the land) or renting out the log cabin after building the 2-acre pond. Learn more about this land: Stay in the log cabin, or pitch a tent. Enjoy stargazing, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the property.  Pick wild grapes  or wild blackberries (when in season) or spring wildflowers. Kayak or canoe in the pond.  Bring your fishing gear and bait. Cabin use is free, but these are STRICT RULES. 1. No pets please, not even emotional support animals of any kind due to allergy in the family (we use the cabin when not booked). 2. No smoking inside the cabin 3. Do not use the bathroom towels for kitchen purposes or to wipe off dirt 4. Please no outdoor footwear indoors, but you are welcome to wear clean indoor footwear. Violation will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit 5.  Cars MUST be parked on the rocked section, thus walking is necessary from this point.  This is a 2-3 minute walk. The driveway might be dry but, no vehicles will be allowed past the rocked section due to unpredictability of weather. If it rains, vehicles will get stuck in the pasture. 6. Never leave food - solid or liquid - where ants can find them or you will cause them to infest the house including your bed! They can do so faster than you can imagine. 7. Please do not bring more people than officially booked, or we will cancel the reservation. No refund. We also close the gate once you have checked in to prevent the animals from escaping. 8. The moisture content can cause shrinkage or expansion of the ground, which can lead to leveling issues to the cabin. So please be aware that doors may or may not open or close smoothly.

If you’re looking for a relaxing adventure with all the comforts of home, this is the perfect stay. The host was amazing—friendly, helpful, and incredibly quick to respond to any questions we had. We brought our RV and were able to camp right alongside my sister, who rented the Airstream for Thanksgiving, which made the experience even more special. The property itself was beautiful. We spent our days exploring the trails and enjoying the local wildlife, and our evenings were filled with cozy campfire vibes and plenty of s’mores. It was the ideal blend of comfort and outdoor fun. We can’t recommend this stay enough and can’t wait to come back!

3 nights at Deer Trail Cabin sleeps 6

This place is awesome. The interior is like a luxury cabin with all the amenities and comforts you have at home. Excellent air conditioning, amazing waterfall shower, WiFi, and so many other great features to the cabin make it the best cabin we have ever stayed at. The host Tanya was friendly and had very fast responses to any questions. The location is in an RV park that has charcoal grills, players for the little ones, and great open areas to run with the kids or dogs. It was extremely quiet in regards to neighbors. There are some animal noises from geese and a few dogs but we felt that added to the country feel. A mile or so down the road is one of the best lakes in Texas and since it’s a state park it’s extremely safe and a pristine environment. A few minutes down the road in the opposite direction is a Dollar General for all the items you forgot or want some extra snack or drink. We will absolutely be coming back in the near future.

Camping here was awesome! They had a really clean restroom, acess to the trail was right there. Will stay here again next time i go camping!

Campsite 7 was awesome! Easy access to hiking trails without have to drive anywhere. Bath was very clean. Shower was really nice. We will be back.

We had a great 2 night stay at Circle C Campground essentially inside the Sam Houston National Forrest. The park trails began 50 yrds from our campsite. The sites themselves were very large, and there are only 7 total campsites, so it felt very spacious. There was a lot for the kids to do and they roamed freely with no worries from mom or dad about them all weekend. Terry was very friendly and has spared no expense improving the property to allow campers to enjoy it. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed staying here. There was no cell service on my phone (AT&T), which meant it was quiet. Terry returned my text message in a decent amount of time when I had a question about the site. I really liked the fact that there was a stack of firewood at each site.

Camping at Circle had to be one of the best camping experiences I’ve had in Texas! Being from the PNW it brought a balance of forest and comfort! The outdoor shower was awesome and the campgrounds were very clean. Terry the host is also very nice and always willing to answer any questions you have!! I will be back soon.

Terry was very nice. Nice bathroom/shower/cooking area setup, much better than most camp sites. The lone star hiking trail also leads right behind the campsite and there is gate access to it. I would camp here again.
