We have always enjoyed camping, scuba diving and travel... anything outdoors. We made a promise that If ever given the chance to share that joy with others we would and make it a great experience. We searched and searched looked at a lot of properties North of the Woodlands, to build our home. On a Saturday morning, my husband told me about a dream of 3 very tall and Magnificent Trees, soaring way up in the sky. A few days later we were walking through the forest looking at a 20 acre tract of land for sale with our realtor, I'm thinking, "oh how would we ever get this cleared, this is a lot of work" Then, up ahead was a clearing and right in the middle were 3 of the tallest, most magnificent Cedar trees. They were perfectly planted standing side by side. We both looked at each other and said," Oh this must be it". The rest is history. Once you start down the driveway you'll see the lake through the trees, making the rough 5-mile ride worth it.

We have expanded our rabbitry soon to include Rex and Harlequin breeds as well. The drought of 2022 and 2023 caused us to have to cut fencing which we are still working to repair in order to bring back our heritage hogs. Turkeys are raised only when pre-paid by customers. We are currently working to get bees again for local harvested honey in Houston County, Texas. All my poultry and livestock are free ranged and live on pasture supplemented with non-GMO feeds using no antibiotics or hormones. My goal is growing all the livestock in an environment outside where they can live normal lives eating bugs and grass, enjoying the sun and rain and through holistic management creating more sustainable pastureland for the future.
Our main rule is please enjoy observing the ranch life but do not harass the animals. We live in the country please do not be too loud or cross outside of our ranch boundaries. My neighbors have lived here or moved here for their own peace and solitude as well... be respectful of that and enjoy your stay in the country.
The ranch is located in the Piney Woods of eastern Texas and consists of 95.26 acres mostly in open grazing land with dispersed pine and oak trees in small groupings and along the fence lines. The ranch has a nearly a 1/4-acre upper pond and an elongated narrower lake that is close to 1 and a 1/2-acre below the upper pond to the west. There is a fenced in just over 1/2 acre area just north of the upper pond. The ponds gain water from natural spring flow and rainwater. Cook Creek runs through the entrance area off of FM 2022 on the northwest side of the property. The creek is year-round but normally is only a few inches deep but does have a few deeper pools of water. The ranch has about 65+ acres of gentle rolling hills of open pasture. The pastures consist of bahia, maxio and angusta ryegrasses, with mostly coastal grasses with some red and white clover mixed with natives.
The ranch also has a diverse group of wildlife including but not limited to coyotes, white tail deer, roadrunners, racoons, possums, wild pigs and hawks of different species. We have spotted a golden eagle on the ranch within the last few months. We have a couple juvenile bald eagles on the north-northwest side of the property. Our large great blue heron is back from his migration south. Several kingfishers are nesting near the large lake. Several other migratory birds and waterfowl also traverse the ranch during their travels north and south through the area.
The night sky is amazing! If nothing else brings you here. You must come enjoy the view of the milky way and thousands of stars visible in our south-east Texas night sky. Photos of the night sky have been added to the listing... do not miss them! I really enjoy just leaning back in a zero-gravity chair and getting to view the sky when not looking through my 8in Meade Coma-Free Smith-Cassegrain telescope. I often have the scope setup and visitors are more than welcome to come view the wonders that our night sky has to offer on most clear nights.
Bring a fishing pole to see if you have any luck catching a bream, sunfish, small mouth or largemouth bass. We do have turtles as well. The biggest and meanest is the alligator snapping turtles best to just cut the line than try to take your hook or lure back from these guys.

Baker's Cabin is in the country. Located about 25 minutes from Centerville, it makes for an easy weekend getaway from the Houston or Dallas areas. As you drive from interstate, to highway, to county road to dirt road and over a single lane wooden bridge, you feel yourself start to unwind and relax.
This cabin is located on a private dirt road (too much rain can make things muddy). You'll be given gate access for entrance. As you drive down the dirt road, you'll find our light blue cabin on stilts. Because the cabin is raised, you have a great entertainment space sheltered from the weather. You can hang out, swing and play games all downstairs. We also have a firepit for cooler evenings.

The last 5 miles of the drive are on a "Red Dirt Road" and it can be bumpy or even slippery if it's rained recently. I've never heard of any issues in any vehicles but it's a county road. You will leave with red dirt on your vehicle but that's part of the appeal, the secluded getaway :)
Once you start down the driveway you'll see the lake through the trees, making the rough 5-mile ride worth it.

We have expanded our rabbitry soon to include Rex and Harlequin breeds as well. The drought of 2022 and 2023 caused us to have to cut fencing which we are still working to repair in order to bring back our heritage hogs. Turkeys are raised only when pre-paid by customers. We are currently working to get bees again for local harvested honey in Houston County, Texas. All my poultry and livestock are free ranged and live on pasture supplemented with non-GMO feeds using no antibiotics or hormones. My goal is growing all the livestock in an environment outside where they can live normal lives eating bugs and grass, enjoying the sun and rain and through holistic management creating more sustainable pastureland for the future.
Our main rule is please enjoy observing the ranch life but do not harass the animals. We live in the country please do not be too loud or cross outside of our ranch boundaries. My neighbors have lived here or moved here for their own peace and solitude as well... be respectful of that and enjoy your stay in the country.
The ranch is located in the Piney Woods of eastern Texas and consists of 95.26 acres mostly in open grazing land with dispersed pine and oak trees in small groupings and along the fence lines. The ranch has a nearly a 1/4-acre upper pond and an elongated narrower lake that is close to 1 and a 1/2-acre below the upper pond to the west. There is a fenced in just over 1/2 acre area just north of the upper pond. The ponds gain water from natural spring flow and rainwater. Cook Creek runs through the entrance area off of FM 2022 on the northwest side of the property. The creek is year-round but normally is only a few inches deep but does have a few deeper pools of water. The ranch has about 65+ acres of gentle rolling hills of open pasture. The pastures consist of bahia, maxio and angusta ryegrasses, with mostly coastal grasses with some red and white clover mixed with natives.
The ranch also has a diverse group of wildlife including but not limited to coyotes, white tail deer, roadrunners, racoons, possums, wild pigs and hawks of different species. We have spotted a golden eagle on the ranch within the last few months. We have a couple juvenile bald eagles on the north-northwest side of the property. Our large great blue heron is back from his migration south. Several kingfishers are nesting near the large lake. Several other migratory birds and waterfowl also traverse the ranch during their travels north and south through the area.
The night sky is amazing! If nothing else brings you here. You must come enjoy the view of the milky way and thousands of stars visible in our south-east Texas night sky. Photos of the night sky have been added to the listing... do not miss them! I really enjoy just leaning back in a zero-gravity chair and getting to view the sky when not looking through my 8in Meade Coma-Free Smith-Cassegrain telescope. I often have the scope setup and visitors are more than welcome to come view the wonders that our night sky has to offer on most clear nights.
Bring a fishing pole to see if you have any luck catching a bream, sunfish, small mouth or largemouth bass. We do have turtles as well. The biggest and meanest is the alligator snapping turtles best to just cut the line than try to take your hook or lure back from these guys.

Baker's Cabin is in the country. Located about 25 minutes from Centerville, it makes for an easy weekend getaway from the Houston or Dallas areas. As you drive from interstate, to highway, to county road to dirt road and over a single lane wooden bridge, you feel yourself start to unwind and relax.
This cabin is located on a private dirt road (too much rain can make things muddy). You'll be given gate access for entrance. As you drive down the dirt road, you'll find our light blue cabin on stilts. Because the cabin is raised, you have a great entertainment space sheltered from the weather. You can hang out, swing and play games all downstairs. We also have a firepit for cooler evenings.

If you’re looking for a relaxing adventure with all the comforts of home, this is the perfect stay. The host was amazing—friendly, helpful, and incredibly quick to respond to any questions we had. We brought our RV and were able to camp right alongside my sister, who rented the Airstream for Thanksgiving, which made the experience even more special.
The property itself was beautiful. We spent our days exploring the trails and enjoying the local wildlife, and our evenings were filled with cozy campfire vibes and plenty of s’mores. It was the ideal blend of comfort and outdoor fun. We can’t recommend this stay enough and can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Stewart’s Cove in Cabin 3! Gene was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the cabin itself was clean and comfortable with great water pressure and a beautiful view. We loved camping on Heath's land! The views were amazing and the field was wide open to view the stars at night! Heath was most informative and welcoming. The cows graze in the field we camped on and came close as they were curious but nothing that wasn't expected. This is a very peaceful place and not far from the nearest city. We will be back to enjoy this beautiful place!

It was hard to leave this place. They have a way of just making you feel at home. She gave us some jam she made and honey from her bees. Then a dozen eggs. Just the sweetest person. When we left she texted us places we should visit. But the truth is we just wanted to stay there lol the land is peaceful. Our kids 1&3 enjoyed trampoline and swimming! Weekend Trip to Riveted Retreat
We stayed over Labor Day weekend from Friday to Monday and as someone who has had 4 days off in two months I was looking forward to nothing but relaxing. This was the medicine I needed! We got to the spot and in the gate with zero problems. It is exactly as advertised and the pictures tell you exactly what you are getting. It was so quiet, beautiful, and serene that I immediately relaxed. The camper is great and equipped with everything you would need. We over packed because we've had other experiences that weren't as equipped with what we needed but this was perfection. We put bird seed I the feeder the first night and by the next day we had all sorts of birds, we had a sweet armadillo who visited us everyday, and two barred owls who decided to have a conversation each evening. Humming birds all over the place, fireflies, and just so calming. When it rained we were able to not only stay inside and stream our shows but also WiFi was on point so I was able to sit outside and watch on my iPad. The covers deck was also perfect for that while it rained. The pool was clean and a great dip to cool off. The only thing with that is that it was a little hard to get in and out for a shorty like me. We had a blast and will absolutely rent this again!! When we needed more firewood the owners came ASAP and brought more. Very kind and hey, we did hit up Buc-ee's that is only miles away for fun and great snacks. Highly recommend for quiet, silent weekend!

Weekend Trip to Riveted Retreat
Had a wonderful time this weekend soaking in the pool, chilling with the dogs, and chilling inside and out with the amazing WiFi while it rained down. The owners were quick to respond with new firewood and had a nice bag of candied pecans waiting for us. This was the weekend we were looking for and so private. Totally as advertised and the deck with the roof over was perfect for the times it did rain so we could still be outside. Would totally recommend this place again and will be back for sure. Oh and there is a Buc-ee's only a few miles away so that was great for amazing snacks and a quick breakfast when we didn't want to cook.

Cabin was clean, and cozy with great views It was my dog’s first time at the lake and he had a blast going in and out of the water. We rented cabins 1 and 2 for a weekend family trip. We had an amazing time! I cannot say enough about how awesome this site is. They have so much to do; basketball, sand box, petal boats, kayaks, life jackets and a WATERSLIDE. The waterslide was a huge hit for both the kids and adults! The Pavilion is covered and a great place for the kids to play. We spent most of our time in the area near the water slide and the dock; there are 2 picnic tables, a grill and an outdoor sink here. We brought flashlights and lanterns but didn't need them! The cabins have plenty of outside lighting, the pavilion and area with the grill also have lights! Both cabins 1 and 2 have a loft area with a little door that closes at the bottom of the stairs. Cabin 2 has a lock on the door, this was helpful since we had a toddler traveling with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and you will too!

We spent a lovely week at this Hipcamp spot and had an absolutely fantastic time. From the moment we arrived, everything was just right—the lakeside was ready for swimming, complete with a fun water slide, and the air conditioning in our cabin was wonderfully cool.
Our host was incredibly hospitable and made sure we felt right at home. We spent our days canoeing, kayaking, and exploring the local town’s charming antique shops, a new ice cream parlor, and a cozy bookstore. We also enjoyed a delightful little diner one evening.
One highlight was taking a boat over to a local restaurant with dockside access, which was a really unique experience. We loved it so much that we decided to stay an extra day to soak up more of the lakeside relaxation.
Overall, it was an easy drive from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and perfect for a family getaway

With kids
First, if this is your first time there, travel in the daylight. You have been warned.
But once you arrive, you will see all the charm that is Baker’s Cabin.
Raised cabin with well utilized space underneath. Climb the steps to the deck (very well build and maintained by the way) and get to the back deck. Just turn around and check out the view of nature. There is a feeder which assuredly attracts deer and hogs likely.
Walk around to enter and once inside you will see this charming little spot. The spiral stairs leading to the loft are not only solidly built, but so beautiful. A bit narrow for us “big eaters” but very manageable. Kitchen is well equipped so plan a meal or two.
The host is very attentive, thank you Ally. Communication was phenomenal and they were available if needed (by phone, text or email) as they are not on property.
The area had significant rainfall in the days leading up, so we kept our exploring to the high and dry ground.
The aforementioned back deck was also well equipped. We to a short drive into town Saturday morning and brought back steak and potatoes for the grill. Yes, we decided to spoil ourselves.
Advice, use pen and paper to note directions as cell service will not be available driving from the property. Cold AC, wifi and tv’s if you need)
Host, location and amenities will certainly bring us back. Hope you visit, you will see!

3 nights at Cabins directly on the Lake
Our large group had a wonderful stay at Stewart Cove! 3 full days and nights with 14 young kids - not easy to keep everyone happy, but Stewart Cove had something for everyone! Kayaks, amazing water slide, so much fishing, basketball and pickleball… it was awesome. Highly recommend, and Gene will take good care of you!
