2 nights at Starlove Ranch & Animal Sanctuary

Hollie & Davey's ranch was perfect for me. Beautiful property, and you're camping in nature, not a busy KOA park. Secluded and very peaceful. Easy to go get supplies in Giddings. This was a motocamping trip for me and there are great motorcycle roads all over the area. I will definitely be back.

I love camping here, it is very peaceful, everything is clean and organized. Hollie and Davey are very nice and always checking on you. Favorite part their Director of guest services (their lovely dog Shasta) is beautiful and very friendly. I will keep coming here, totally worth it for a getaway camping.

Weekend Trip to Eden East Farm

We camped here on a cross country bike trip. Nice to be able to set up a tent and be so close to town. We didn’t have the chance to meet Sonya but David was very kind and welcoming to us.

The place is private, quiet, and the sounds of animals at night is very peaceful. Hosts are very respectful. I would definitely recommend if you need a place to rest for the night without hitting the wallet too hard.

1 night at CAMP JOY - RV / TENTS CALDWELL, TX

We loved staying at Camp Joy! The land was beautiful, the bathroom was clean and the shower was really nice. The view of the water from our tent was so beautiful and it was so peaceful. There is some road noise but it wasn't overbearing. An abundance of firewood was already provided at each campsite as well which was great! We did have a puppy come visit us that wandered onto the campsite from across the street. We didn't mind and he was super friendly. We actually really enjoyed the little guy, haha. We also saw the cat Duchess that lives on the property who was sweet as well. Overall it was a trip full of animals and beautiful views. Will definitely want to come again!

3 nights at Wild and Boujee Ranch

This was a nice spot with lots of open spaces, both up by the RV site and down by the river. We were close to Bastrop State Park and downtown Bastrop for shopping and restaurants. The new pad sites overlooked the river below. Please note that there are electrical hookups at the pads but water and sewer are by the front entrance of the property.

Amazing camping grounds. It’s very close to the water where you can picnic, fish, and enjoy the waters. I’d definitely come back on a cooler day!

This was such a nice spot and we’d love to come back sometime! Todd was really responsive, reliable, and nice. You can tell that everything is really well taken care of and we felt really comfortable and safe there.

I loved the site. Just a short walk down the steps to the river. Thank you Paige for the kayak paddle. Cute spot at the river to put the kayak in, Not a big rivers edge if a lot of people are there at the same time but we enjoyed it as we were there all by ourselves. This would definitely be a GREAT place for a group. Again, Thank you Paige.

We really enjoyed staying on Hollie and Davey’s land. We were at RV Site 1. It was level, had plenty of room and had water and electric hookups. We were greeted by Shasta, a very friendly dog who also accompanied us on walks around the property. We liked the peace and quiet. We were near a road but rarely heard any traffic. They have other more remote sites but they didn’t have electricity. We were fine where we stayed. It was very a very relaxing place. I recommend it and would stay there again.

Firefly ranch is a must do! Amazing host! Beautiful land to camp on, plenty of privacy, great campfire pits, plenty of wildlife, no light pollution, and say hello to the amazing dogs out there! 😊 We are looking to come back when the fireflies are in season! 😊

Camping on Dave and Sarah’s land was a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility for my family. We spent the evenings gathered around a crackling campfire, roasting marshmallows under a sky bursting with stars. The kids loved exploring the wooded trails and open meadows, while my wife and I cherished the peaceful escape and meaningful conversations surrounded by nature.

Several State Parks surround Lake Somerville, the closest from this location is "Birch Creek State Park" with beautiful hiking trails. Highly recommend the drive to check the Parks out. Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. The "Aggieland Wild Animal Safari" is outside of Bryan College Station and is a great place to take the kids to interact with all kinds of animals. Offers a drive-thru in which you can drive thru as many times as you want, as well as a petting zoo and gift shop. And, if you like shopping, there are lots of antique shops and wineries at Round Top, another scenic drive about 45 minutes away. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! Check for local events happening all around such as Aggie Football Games, Snook ChiliFest, Market Days on the Square in Caldwell and much, much more! The Morris Manor and Retreat

Our property is meant to be calming, fun and relaxing. Camping with class is what we like to say. We are constantly upgrading our areas and property to be safe and entertaining. Our pond is charming and the focal point of the camping adventure. We have a paddle boat and an electric john boat to toodle around in. Want to go fishing? The pond is stocked with bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and perch. There is also a small island we call “Angel Island” that you can fish from or just sit on the deck with your favorite beverage and enjoy the view. There is a riding/walking trail that is approximately 0.7 miles in distance and basically encompasses the perimeter of the back area. Walking is common, bikes are welcome and small 4 wheelers are also welcome. No side by sides please. You won’t be over crowded here as we currently only have 7 total camping sites. However, we do have enough property to accommodate large parties, reunions or any other type of get-togethers. Come see us and enjoy time away from the fast paced city! You might hear the sounds of the coyotes yipping in the night or perhaps one of the great horned owls calling out from a big oak tree. You may also see some deer, rabbits, squirrels and even armadillos. We are rustic but classy. Time to get away and relax! Our 100 acre heritage property has been in the family for over 150 years. Since 2017, we've been operating our land as a Vegan, Regenerative-Agriculture Farm & Animal Sanctuary. We currently have 2 dogs, 3 cats plus a herd of 31 Cows, 4 Potbelly Pigs and 2 Spanish Goats. The cows and pigs are all rescue animals so, where as they are adapted to humans being around them, they are very shy and petting them is not allowed. The dogs, cats and goats, on the other hand, are very friendly and love to be pet and fed treats. We are located outside of Dime Box, TX and are a 30 minute drive from the quaint, artist village of Round Top, and 12 miles from Lake Somerville SP. Our property has equal parts rolling pastures and wooded thickets and ravines. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and gorgeous views of the Texas horizons....time your stay just right and you can stand directly between the sunset and the moonrise! We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property. We have a new construction Bath House on site for restroom needs w/ hot showers and composting potties plus a cold-water sink w/ non-potable water suited for washing produce, hands, dishes or camping gear.
