It's right on highway TX-36 about halfway between Houston and Austin, close to Brenham and College Station, just south of Somerville, and within just a few minutes of Lake Somerville by car. Right now, our property is set up for primitive camping only. Bring all your own supplies. There are plenty of areas for you to pick from to set up camp. Don't forget to bring your boat, jet skis, or kayaks too so you can head out for a day on the lake! The road noise from the highway can be a bit annoying, but lively chatter with friends and family next to a crackling campfire drowns that out some. See if you can catch a glimpse of Buck working on his beaver dam near the southeast corner of the property, or explore along the creek to the natural tree root bridge to walk over to the other side of the creek. If you want to get away for a day trip, head south over to Brenham where you can tour the Blue Bell ice cream factory or go east to College Station to visit Texas A&M and catch a game at Kyle Field. Of course, Lake Somerville is just a few minutes away, so bring your boat, jet skis, or kayaks for a day out on the water. We recently purchased this property after "the year of which we do not speak" for our own family getaways close to the lake and we're super grateful for the opportunity to share it with you.
