Sundancer On The Brazos sits on Comanche Creek in an isolated forest on a 350 acre working cattle ranch with a quarter mile of river frontage! The Comanche were quite active up and down this part of the Brazos when the earliest settlers arrived around 1850, until the Comanches' eventual conquest by the Texas Rangers and their Colt pistols around 1870; we have found lots of flint and some arrowheads on high places here. Going further back in history, the Fuller's Folly River Ranch has an abundance of petrified wood, they say that if you have fossilized sea shells you were under water, but if you have petrified wood you had land creatures. Hunting for petrified wood is a fun adventure here. (But leave them for the next person to discover!) Weatherford is only 10 minutes away and Granbury is only 20 minutes away; both have great restaurants. And this close to Fort Worth (30min), you could actually commute and have a ranch to come home to at night--note the lower pricing mid week.

Experience a secluded forest setting close to incredible hikes, bike trails, and lakes. Our two cabins are both unique and functional, providing the perfect balance of nature within close proximity to several small towns. Over the years, thousands of guests have enjoyed our property, which features an outdoor pergola, a fire pit, a prayer path, a seasonal pond, and a vibrant garden. You will share the land with our chickens and ducks, as well as a variety of wildlife including rare and native birds, deer, raccoons, opossums, coyotes, and amphibians. When we moved here in 2017, we chose to cohabitate with the land by avoiding all chemicals, including pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic cleaning products in the cabins. Over the last nine years, we have seen the tree frog population flourish and naturally manage the mosquitoes, while the native foliage thrives even in harsh temperatures. Our soil is amazing, and though we may be a small plot of land, you will enjoy seeing nature at its absolute best. As a bonus, we are conveniently located 10 to 45 minutes from a wide array of outdoor recreation. You will have easy access to Mineral Wells State Park, the new state park in Pilot Point, Lake Ray Roberts, Chandor Gardens, Clark Gardens, and Possum Kingdom Lake. We look forward to hosting you in our chemical-free sanctuary!

Serenity Cabin + Set A Tent Outside

36mi from Burleson · 1 site
Cabin with a full kitchen, washer/dryer combo, bathroom with shower, and a queen bed in the first-floor bedroom. The upstairs loft/kids’ play area has a twin and a double mattress on the floor. There’s a small TV room/sitting area, an outdoor deck with a small patio table, and a private yard area with a fire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill (bring charcoal and starter). You can even set up a tent in the yard — best of both worlds! We sit on 3.5 acres with trails to explore. The property is fenced in, so you won’t accidentally wander off. When we moved here three years ago, the trails were very rough; we’ve been slowly improving them. They’re by no means spectacular, but they’re fun — especially for kids looking for rabbits, roadrunners, toads, deer, and who knows what else. There are no creeks, ponds, or other water features, just good old dirt!

Fuller's Folly River Ranch
