Where do I start..We have found our forever camping spot ❤️ When we arrived we were all just in awe of the view..What an amazing spot ( site 4 ) The grass was so green and soft the view of the river amazing.... The site is so private, and huge...We sit up our tents under some trees the shade was perfect . So much space to set up everything. The sounds of nature were on point. The birds singing was very relaxing. The entrance into the river was very easy like walking into the beach. Billy is so very kind . And kept us good with firewood. Also provided us with lifejackets which was so very much appreciated...Our children spent hours swimming and riding up and down the river on the boat and Kayaks that Billy provided...The two fire pits were a huge plus .made cooking so easy....We spund four days and 3 nights there and we were not in a hurry to leave....There is water from a well on the property that made it very easy and convenient for our needs....This is definitely a place that you will not regret camping at....it's our new favorite spot....💞💞💞💞 Thanks Billy for offering such a beautiful place to make memories at ...keep up the good work...we will be back...😊

Weekend Trip to Wildflower Getaway

Amazing experience! This is a very family friendly camp site. We camped in a tent and the spot they set us up with was really nice, near the outdoor shower, outhouse, and a hammock with a string of lights hung through the trees. There are horses and ponies and goats that roam the property and come say hi and there’s some playground equipment for little kids to play on. The property is fenced in and it felt very safe to let my kids run around. It’s owned by a very sweet family, who maintain their land really well. As a member of the LGBTQ community, it’s often difficult to find places that I can feel safe out in nature with my kids and they were very accepting of my family and I. If you’re looking for a fun, quiet, family friendly spot to camp, I highly recommend staying here.

Weekend Trip to Twisted Oaks...

No frills car camping, highly recommended! John’s land is beautiful and has many sites to choose from with flat places for tents, fire ring, tables and chairs. John is friendly and so are his dogs. He’s done a lot of DIY projects like an outdoor shower, bucket flush toilet, disc golf holes (bring your own discs) and has a few campers, a dump truck and other equipment on site that might not feel like pure nature but it didn’t bother me. If you want a true “pristine natural area” look elsewhere but for weekend car campers it’s a great place. Firewood available on site. 15 mins from downtown.

Very well maintained and friendly atmosphere. The communal area came in clutch. Coffee in the morning gives you a brief chance to be social with other campers. The primitive sites are very secluded with the cedar trees surrounding them. Site H is by far the best. Your back is to to a fence and there is a trail connecting to the next site over for a bigger group. Road to the sites is a little rough but it adds to the experience. Overall it’s a great place and definitely worth a return visit.

Weekend Trip to Dot's Spots

We had a great experience at Dot’s Spots! Host was so accommodating for our late night arrival and adjusted our booking to a site that wasn’t as impacted by mud after some rainy weather came through. The location was also terrific as it was close to Pedernales Falls State Park and Wimberly, both which we easily explored in a day. It was the perfect first camping trip with our 18 month old! 10/10 would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Orrasis Ranch

I LOVED the Bait House! It was just the right size for a getaway with myself and my dog. I think 2 adults max would be comfortable here. It had everything I needed and more. The outdoor shower was a delightful experience. The only downside for me was they have chickens and roosters on the property and I was awoken by the cock-a-doodle-do before dawn every morning. The house was is located near a few parks so we were able to enjoy hiking within 10 minutes from the property. Downtown Marble Falls is also about 10 min away if you want local dining experiences, which I did grab takeout from 2 different restaurants while I was there. Overall it was a nice little getaway and great location!

We had a great time camping on Billy’s land. The river was beautiful and the campsite was spacious and appointed with a fire pit and chairs. Firewood was provided for a low price. The goats and sheep were friendly and cute.

This place is awesome one of the best hip camps we have ever been to. The little peninsula right off the river was beautiful and lush accompanied by canoes that are available to rent and firewood available for purchase as well. This is a Tip top establishment that I will definitely be visiting again and again for times to come. From wild beavers two cows in the river this place has it all!

Beautiful weekend in nature with hiking, happy farm animals, camping shenanigans. There’s an outdoor sink, potable water, and a regular toilet. There’s a very nice communal area with picnic seating/kitchen that’s lit by night with cute string lighting. My favorite part was the walk in the woods down to the river where we met the 600-800 year old pecan Mother Tree. Then at the river we waded, the doggies swam and everyone took a nap in the sun. We all love animals dearly, and i surprised the group with the mini-horse grooming. Snickerdoodle was looking so cute after we brushed out her hair!

The property was so beautiful! After raining all week, we showed up to a perfect river site. Our dogs loved the water and sleeping next to the horses and sheep. We camped with a large group of (14 people total) and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and get comfortable.

Such a wonderful accommodating camping experience! We set up tents and had a perfect walking distance from bathrooms and the community “armadillo shack” that was stocked with cooking tools, gas, charcoal and even freshly made coffee! Loved exploring the property and was an easy/ quick drive to the park. We will definitely go again.

I had such a wonderful time out on this ranch! Mikayla and her partner were so cool, personable, and welcoming. I did the farm tour, horseback riding, and camped under the Mother tree. I had my small dog with me and she did so well in the presene of the farm animals. :)

Located central on the property near the main fire pit and common areas. - The Grand Arrow: Also has a lake view, but with more trees, less open than the Grand Aztec. Located closer to the entrance of our property, farther from the common areas. Adirondack chairs and a hammock area is just out back (lakeside). - The Grand Tesoro: Private hill country view across the properties ravine. Located closest to the bathhouse, very central on our property. Also near the common areas. A private chiminea fire area under a grove of trees is nearby. The price for Grand tents is based on double or triple occupancy. A fourth guest is welcome for an additional fee ($50/nt), which you’ll see at booking. The Mini Aztec: Located between the Grand Aztec and Grand Arrow tents, with a private view of the lake and hills, and a private chiminea area. For younger children (age 8+) who want to sleep in the mini tent, we recommend the Grand Arrow for the parents because the mini is within view of the Grand Arrow porch. Come live The Hye Life! Welcome to our property located in Hye, at the beginning of the Texas Wine Trail. French Connection Wines is right next door and the renowned William Chris Vineyards is just 1 mile away. Not to be missed is the Garrison Brother's Bourbon Distillery, less than a mile down the street – you could even walk to all three! Our property features a shared, covered outdoor patio with a games court for corn hole, checkers, and bocce (checkers, boards and balls provided), gas fire pit, and a gas grill for those cooler nights. The patio is lighted with cafe lights. One of the RV slips is covered, while the other is nestled under a charming burr oak tree. On-site, we also offer a rental cabin. The covered RV slip is equipped with 30 and 50 amps, the other hookup is 50 amp, both have their own water and clean out connections. Both RV slips are on grass/dirt, and the entrance/exit is grass and dirt. Our property uses rain water recapture. Please conserve water when you can when cooking, washing up and cleaning. No washing of cars or RVs is allowed. Please note that there might be other guests staying on the property during your visit. Kindly be considerate of noise levels and how it may impact the experience of fellow guests. You may also be sharing amenities such as the grill, deck, outdoor kitchen, and games court. We welcome dogs, but it is your responsibility to manage their interactions with other guests' pets. Due to potential gaps or larger openings in the fencing, we recommend keeping your dog on a leash. The owners live on the far side of the property. The rest of the property is left natural for wildlife, so expect uneven terrain, tall grasses, and yes sometimes scorpions, spiders and snakes along with deer, armadillo, wild turkeys, and lots of songbirds.

Nestled just outside of Austin, in San Marcos, TX, our property offers a unique experience with hiking trails surrounded by nature and friendly farm animals. There is also a cowboy pool with a shade sail. We have goats, horses, chickens, ducks, and more. In September we will have a llama named Oreo Mochi. There is an outhouse for washing hands and a compost toilet. There are water and electric connections only. 50 amp RV connections. If you need 30 amp you will need a converter. You can pitch a tent. There are rock firepits set up around the property and plenty of firewood. Eventually we will be adding an outdoor shower for camping guests. It is 15-18 minutes to downtown San Antonio. About 15 minutes to tube rentals to float the river in San Marcos. The San Marcos outlet malls are a shower trip. An approximate 30 minute trip to Wimberly, TX wineries. There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course). . These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times.
