This property has been in our family since the 1960's, and owned by close friends of the family since the house was built in 1910. Close access to San Marcos, Lockhart, and Luling. Public river access is just down the road. Just 8 miles away located in the heart of Texas’s barbecue capital, Lockhart State Park is an intimate, area with lush trees and trails along the Clear Fork Creek. It offers amenities like a swimming pool, a golf course, a small waterfall, fishing, and hiking. It’s just a 10-minute drive from legendary restaurants like Black’s Barbecue, Smitty’s Market, and Kreuz Market—all must-eat stops for barbecue fans. This was a great spot! Robert was very welcoming. The directions were clear and the spot was exactly as pictured, with full hookups and a covered parking spot and picnic table. I had a very peaceful week here!

We loved tent camping on Chris’ land! The amenities were excellent (electric, water, shade) and they had recently installed a nearby toilet and shower with hot water. Water access and hiking access made for great afternoon activities. Our dogs had a great time too. Thank you Hill Country Escape!

The space was extremely clean and well maintained. The barn was spacious and had stylish elements throughout. There were horses that loved apples fed to them! It was a very charming piece of land, and the Host was extremely hospitable. I stayed (4) nights and have nothing but positive things to say. I will definitely be going back, and plan to stay longer next time.

Weekend Trip to Forest camp with indoor bathroom

Very close to Austin (and to civilization) which was convenient but still had a very secluded and country vibe. Russell was very communicative throughout preparations for my visit to make sure every one of my needs was met. During our stay he connected a giant box fanto keep us cool, hooked up our grill so we could eat, and brought water to put out our fire without being asked. Excellent and accomodating host. Place has more amenities than advertised. We were surprised to find a trampoline, tug-o-war, a speaker setup in the barn even. Wonderful spot that was very pretty to enjoy at night when the lights came on. Will be returning for another visit someday.

Surrounded by hill country nature. On a lovely lil creek . Listen to the Grape Creek critters where the coyotes sing you to sleep ! This is a perfect for a kicked back getaway. It's a working ranch so you'll hear Bossy cow and the gang casually chatting. As they're chewing the cud. Equipped with a comfortable seating area . An outdoor shower , water and electric. Catch and release fishing. Tons of birds and a gaggle of turkeys across the way. A friendly host with a welcoming smile . A grill , fire ring , tons of shade and couple of turtles for neighbors. We were at site 1 . I would advise a canoe or kayak for fishing as the water lillies are thick . Our stay was completely enjoyable and we look forward to the next visit !

Wonderful location, beautiful view, peaceful day and night. During our stay the area was hit by historical flooding. Despite this situation being outside of Laura's control, she constantly provided updates regarding weather, the restoration of power, and kept us apprised of road conditions and provided us the best window of time to make our exit and return to home. Fortunately, given the location, we were at an elevation that ensured our safety and piece of mind. I highly recommend a stay at this property and we will definitely be back. P.S. - Note - Laura at Loving Heart Retreats even provided a place to stay at the retreat to a gentleman that was stuck on the mountain due to flooding. This furthers my confidence that this truly is a loving heart operation! Thanks for everything, Laura.

The RV ranch spot is secluded, quiet and lovely. Plenty of country. Plenty of privacy. They have full coverage, a lovely home and a very kind family. They also have cows and chickens and eggs that you can buy. We're lucky enough to have been able to stay a number of times with them and we can't wait to do it again. There's also quick and easy access to the river!

Just spent this weekend out at Chris's spot. As much as i'd like to keep this spot a secret, i definitely want others to experience how awesome this place is. Chris and crew were very welcoming and the site is absolutely incredible. If you like to fish, you would love this spot. If you don't you would still love this spot. Very quiet and very clean. I'll definitely be booking this spot again in the future.
