Our family loved the tent camping at 5D ranch. We are planning another trip again. We enjoyed the fishing pond. The site provided life jackets and small boats with paddles. Plenty of space to get away and enjoy the weekend together.

We found site 19 to be large enough to move a 33’ RV around and secluded enough to enjoy our outdoor stay. The hosts were great and the site was clean and well maintained. We felt welcomed and enjoyed our stay. The trail system is well marked and offers nature at its intended dose. This truly is a relaxing experience. We appreciate the hospitality.

Terry's Spot is the perfect campground. Me and my company couldn't have enjoyed our time more. Everything was nice and clean. Bridget is the perfect hostess. We had a great time at this wonderful property, lots and lots of wooded property to explore. The hosts were excellent and the bathroom, shower and water refill station was only about 150 yards from site 22. We really enjoyed watching the gofers digging their holes, it was great entertainment for us and our dachshund! We even got to meet the ranch dog, he was super friendly and was just looking for a drink of water. We will definitely be back! Thank you for opening your property to all of us that seek to be outdoors, it seems to be getting harder and harder to find places to go. Keep up the great work and scratch that pup behind his ears for us!

My friends and I had such a great time camping here! The view of the river was beautiful, we could birdwatch from our campsite (barred owl, red shouldered hawk, king fisher, great egret, red-bellied woodpecker), the bathroom, dish washing, and shower facilities were extremely well stocked and clean, we were given free recently felled wood to burn, we loved getting cozy by the large fire pit - it had foot rests and a surface for resting our stuff! Bridget was the most attentive and sweet host; she checked on us before we arrived, she immediately answered my questions about a fire ban, she visited after we got settled, she brought us a can opener when we forgot one, she checked on us when she was worried our neighbors might be too noisy (they weren’t). The only thing we didn’t love was how many ants were on the ground, but that 1. Comes with the territory of living in Texas and 2. Is a hard thing for any landowner to fix. Just make sure you wear socks and bug spray to prevent any bites! My friends and I agree that we found a new spot to add to our regular camping rotation, and we can’t wait to come back :-)

This is our family's 3rd time back because we love it so much. The land is beautiful with wide open spaces and thick forest too. The hiking is really great and there are a lot of trails with the ability to hike a long distance or a short walk depending on what you want. Julie is a gracious and kind host and makes everything easy. The kids loved the boats, and each kid was able to catch a fish. Book this place with confidence, you will have a great time just relaxing and recharging.

I chose Site 9 and felt very secluded. I had forgotten firewood but didn't have any issues with finding enough deadfall to burn for the weekend. The site was very well maintained and my son and I loved the trails. Once it got dark, we fell asleep to coyote calls and crickets. This was our second time to 5D and I don't see us going anywhere else for a quick weekend get away!
