Enjoy a weekend getaway on this 7.6 acres primitive land. Sunsets and star gazing are amazing here. Bring your tent and setup in 2 different camp areas or wherever you prefer. Fires are permitted in the fire pits that are provided in two different areas of the land. Our land is divided in the middle where you are able to park. Bikes and atvs are welcome, there are trails for walking, a small hill by the pond that you can easily hike and open areas where atvs can fit all around the perimeter of the property. If an area isn’t open don’t attempt to use for your own safety. You can gather firewood from branches or trees that are laying around the property. Please do not cut or harm any trees. Because this is a primitive camping site there is no water or electricity. Make sure you bring your own drinking water or water for any personal use. Compost Bathrooms will have some water for showering but if this runs out you will have to provide your own, these bathrooms are covered with 3 walls but are pretty private a few feet away from the campsites. There is a pond towards the back of the property. This is collected rain water and it just sits there, there are small fishes in there but we suggest no swimming as it can have bacteria. We usually walk around it with rain boots. By the pond you will be able to see lots of beautiful birds while relaxing in the various chairs provided as well as a swing. Trash bins are not provided so please carry out your trash. Please help us to maintain our land clean. Since there is so many acres we are still in the process of cleaning out what the other owners left behind. We do have neighbors so please be mindful. Cows also roam around the property but are separated by a fence but you do hear them once in a while and sometimes you can see them up close. These cows do not belong to us so please let them be. A train passes near by too so keep that in mind. Any other questions you may have feel free to message me and I will respond as soon as possible. There is phone reception in this area so you don’t have to worry about losing cellphone service. *if you are bringing any pets keep in mind that if you wish to keep them off leash we are not responsible for any harm. Tired of the city ordinances that restricted raising fouls, I decided to look for an acreage that is not too far nor too close to the city and which allowed the raising of farm animals. As of this writing, we have 2 beautiful heifers, 18 sheep, and colorful giant kois in the pond that once in a while can be seen when they swim near the surface. We built a log cabin in the 17-acre property in preparation for downsizing when the boys go to to college. But when our neighbors had to move back to England, they sold us their house and 11-acre land. With the cabin on the 17-acre now vacant, we decided to open it for camping (on the land) or renting out the log cabin after building the 2-acre pond. Learn more about this land: Stay in the log cabin, or pitch a tent. Enjoy stargazing, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the property. Pick wild grapes or wild blackberries (when in season) or spring wildflowers. Kayak or canoe in the pond. Bring your fishing gear and bait. Cabin use is free, but these are STRICT RULES. 1. No pets please, not even emotional support animals of any kind due to allergy in the family (we use the cabin when not booked). 2. No smoking inside the cabin 3. Do not use the bathroom towels for kitchen purposes or to wipe off dirt 4. Please no outdoor footwear indoors, but you are welcome to wear clean indoor footwear. My seven year old made friends with the owners white dog and gave him a huge hug. We went canoeing on the lake but left early because of the rain. We did have a wonderful camp fire and made s'mores the first night. Before we left my little one said this was the best camping trip ever and the best day in his life. This is not our first camping trip, but this place is his favorite place to go camping.

My family and all the friends we have taken to 5D ranch over the years all love it there. Site 23 is perfectly secluded from other sites with a gentle slope throughout, but 2 large tents fit on a reasonably level area. Trees provide excellent shade and wind break. The host family is amazing. We had a great time meeting other campers, and of course the resident dogs - they are very gentle and passive.

We had a great time here. Cherise was really hospitable and greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around. In the morning we had scheduled for the complimentary animal feeding and the experience was awesome. Cherise met us at the barn as scheduled at 9 AM sharp and provided us with a good amount of treats for all the farm animals. It was really nice to be able to give the donkeys, goats, Horse, horses, miniature cow, and chickens their morning breakfast. Cherise even allowed my two siblings a ride on one of the horses which we thought was really nice and a great experience for the kids. Oh, and she has a really beautiful turkey and peacocks on site as well. Overall, we had a fun time here and would definitely love to come back to check out the glamping tent.

I stayed at campsite #24, and for me and my dog, it was perfect—very secluded and calm. I will definitely stay again! A few tips for future campers: First, there is a small downhill slope to get to the site, so drive carefully (my Toyota Tacoma handled it fine, just take it slow). Second, cell service was limited to voice and text (data was choppy with TMobile and Verizon). Finally, Julie is a fantastic host who answers calls immediately. Thanks again, Julie!"

Julie‘s ranch was a truly restful haven for us. We actually came to watch the blues Festival in Navasota, but ended up just hanging out at the ranch listening to the coyotes and owls and relaxing by a fire. Communication was really good, and Julie met us at the check-in with a friendly smile and gracious hospitality. We did end up having a visit from their ranch dog, which was a ton of fun! I can highly recommend a visit here.

Marks place was an amazing getaway! Perfect cabin, perfect pond full of a crazy amount of fish, perfect directions and hospitality, and a host that checks all the boxes you’d want in a host. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Family Farms

The cabin was as advertised. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water. We liked the privacy of the cabins location at the back of the property. However, there are cabins next to ours and there was no curtain on the window above the sink in the bedroom/kitchen area. The people outside at the next cabin were able to see I side our cabin. I suggest a curtain for the window. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
