Weekend Trip to Easy Breeze

Was going to stay one night, ended up staying two. Easy Breeze is an oasis in Wimberly. Wes is an awesome person, super responsive and makes this a safe place for solo female travelers! I soaked in the cool tub all day, and hung my hammock under the shade trees. I even slept with the van doors open under the full moon and woke to soft bird songs. My dog was really happy to roam off leash and nap in the grass. Will stay here again.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION Right by the lake! Sand tennis court, huge swimming pool, multiple cooking standing pits, clean showers and restrooms. Bring your kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and bikes. Along with everything you use for camping. Strict about keeping our fur babies on a leach. Be careful with deer the last 2-3 miles before arriving.

Weekend Trip to Canyon Lakeview Resort

This is a charming space. I would consider coming back with coworkers for a retreat. I have never seen so many deer. A cute little gray fox stopped by to say hello, too. Given the proximity to so much wildlife, I would definitely recommend heeding the leash requirement if you’re visiting with pups.

This was a real treehouse with just enough upgrades to make it comfortable. We had a wonderful break away from the city here. It was so nice to just relax with the kids and have a break from TV and phones. Highly recommend!!!

2 nights at Secluded Treehouse/AC, Real Privacy

This treehouse is a wondrous place to take a retreat from your day-to-day. Me and my partner came for a little one on one time. The cowboy bathtub was the highlight for me (a person who chooses vacation destinations based on tub quality). Each “porch” of the tree house was cozy and whimsical. The inside is full of games, art supplies, and plenty of natural light. Waking up and opening the doors to let the fresh air and sunshine in was rejuvenating and peaceful. The energy of this entire property was absolutely inviting, refreshing, and very special. The only gripe I have is that we couldn’t stay long enough to get to our list of desired activities during our stay. (pond swimming, hammock chilling, yoga, swinging daybed reading, etc). Shellie let us know about a spectacular brunch spot near by. She was communicative and helpful our entire stay. We will absolutely be visiting again!

Weekend Trip to Secluded Treehouse/AC, Real Privacy

Beautiful treehouse! The AC was cool during the day, and the electric heater was fantastic in the evenings when it got cool outside. Everything was very cozy, and I definitely second what other Hipcampers have said about the shower being AMAZING! I used it twice in one day! 🤣 The entire site is very private, and we saw a few critters roaming around. I will say that the stairs are definitely steep, more in between a ladder and stairs, so only our shiba inu came up to the treehouse. Our other 2 larger dogs stayed on their leads on the ground. The queen day bed was so comfy, and the weather was so nice that we ended up spending most of our evenings out there, until after midnight. It was so calm and I definitely recommend it. Very unique, and quiet, stay.

We loved staying at the treehouse on Shellie’s property! It was thoughtfully set up with much of the necessities to make packing easy. We couldn’t believe how clean the outdoor swinging bed was given the elements, but it was immaculate. We slept and read books there and it was a dream. The campsite provided the perfect amount of firewood and it was a very private spot. Shellie was amazing with communication and went above and beyond. We will definitely be staying again next time we need a quick escape from ATX.

We had a great stay at Easy Breeze. The location was excellent - close to town, and not even a mile from the grocery store. Our campsite was lovely. The power and water were easily accessible. Wifi was a bit spotty but we made it work.

All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please. McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! We are 13 miles from Granger Lake, which offers boating and bass fishing opportunities. Highway 29 and the many quaint and scenic country roads that intersect it is popular with cyclists wanting to go for longer rides and enjoy the sights of central Texas and the many historical farms in the area. There is excellent bird-watching and wildlife-viewing opportunities on the property. We frequently see white-tailed deer, as well as other wildlife and many species of birds. There is road noise. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and traveler whenever possible. My idea is to cater to riders of all kinds, If you have a need and I can help, I will. 19 miles away situated along a one-mile stretch of the spring-fed Blanco River, the small but mighty Blanco State Park is very family-friendly, offering the spectacular Falls Dam, nature trails, fishing, tubing, kayaking, and deep water for a good, refreshing swim. The stocked river is teeming with largemouth and Guadalupe bass, catfish, sunfish, and rainbow trout, and can be an excellent place for beginning anglers (you can even borrow equipment for free). Pedernales Falls State Park is only 35 miles away. Swimming at holes, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and birding are a few of the quintessential outdoor Texan activities visitors enjoy most at Pedernales State Park, located near the area of Texas Hill Country where former President Lyndon B. Johnson grew up. Next to the famed Pedernales River, the park is an hour west of Austin, an hour east of Fredericksburg, and about 20 minutes from downtown Johnson City. Wineries and distilleries are a short drive away in nearby Dripping Springs and Stonewall. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

During your stay, we'll be residing in the house but will respect your privacy while remaining available to assist with anything you might need. Our campsites are next to a spring feed tributary creek which flows year around feeding into the Blanco River just a few miles away or hillside with amazing views of the river valley. You will enjoy the babbling creek, miles of hiking and biking trails, cooling off in the creek, scenic hilltop views, solitude, bold sunrises and sunsets, and a brilliant night sky. We have numerous old growth hardwood trees including Live Oaks, Spanish oaks, Elm, Escarpment Cherry, Black walnut, and Ashe Juniper (cedar) one of which has the largest circumference in Texas. We have a wide selection of native and migratory wildlife that calls this place home including white tail deer, wild turkeys, foxes, bobcats, jack rabbits, road runners, seasonal songbirds and butterflies. We have a variety of campsites styles ranging from cozy secluded oak groves to more open spaces for camping under the stars. Rates: $25 PER PERSON, PER NIGHT (minimum of 2 campers). Children age 3 and under are free. If bringing children, please tell us how many and their ages. Nearby Parks for hiking and swimming: HAMILTON POOL PRESERVE (1.9 mi) is open by reservation for hiking and swimming. Visits are for 3 1/2 hour blocks of time. No dogs allowed at Hamilton Pool MILTON REIMERS RANCH COUNTY PARK (2.5 mi) is nearby and is open for hiking, swimming, fishing, rock climbing, and cycling. Dogs on a leash allowed at Reimers. CASH ONLY! $5/per person, no reservation required. We love it there! WEST CAVE OUTDOOR DISCOVERY CENTER (2.6 mi) is open by reservation only for guided tours of the waterfall/cave-no swimming allowed. No dogs allowed at West Cave PEDERNALES FALLS STATE PARK (34 mi) is open by reservation only for day use hiking and swimming. Dogs on a leash allowed ENCHANTED ROCK STATE NATURAL AREA (71 mi) is open by reservation only for day use hiking on weekends and holidays. If we are not under a burn ban, BRING FIREWOOD and/or charcoal because we have fire rings and BBQ cookers at most of the sites. If we are under a burn ban, campfires (even in fire rings) are not allowed, but bring some charcoal because you may still use BBQ Cookers, which we have at each of our sites. Nestled just outside of Austin, in San Marcos, TX, our property offers a unique experience with hiking trails surrounded by nature and friendly farm animals. There is also a cowboy pool with a shade sail. We have goats, horses, chickens, ducks, and more. In September we will have a llama named Oreo Mochi. There is an outhouse for washing hands and a compost toilet. There are water and electric connections only. 50 amp RV connections. If you need 30 amp you will need a converter. You can pitch a tent. There are rock firepits set up around the property and plenty of firewood. Eventually we will be adding an outdoor shower for camping guests. It is 15-18 minutes to downtown San Antonio. About 15 minutes to tube rentals to float the river in San Marcos. The San Marcos outlet malls are a shower trip. An approximate 30 minute trip to Wimberly, TX wineries. There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course). A tent can be provided upon your request ahead of time. We look forward to hosting you. We want you to create lasting memories by connecting with yourself and loved ones.
