My oldest son Ben, and I built this campsite in January of 2024, from both our visions, and tried to make it a truly magical setting. Ben was also featured in two episodes of Building Off The Grid, on the Discovery Channel, so he put quite a bit of expertise and knowledge into our site. I love hosting and decorating, so the interior of the tent is constantly changing. Also features cedar outhouse with composting toilet, cedar bridges built across rocks, as well as two chair hammock area, picnic table and gas grill. Firepit has natural log seating and several more folding chairs, pillows and outdoor blankets stored in waterproof chest. Tent features a queen size bed, adult size folding cot stored under bed, adult size sleeping pad, 2 upholstered chairs set up as reading/relaxing nook, coffee maker, and Yeti battery pack for electrical and charging needs. We will provide drinking water and extra water for washing up. We supply all linens and dishware needs. First Aid Kit is provided, but we are just a short walk through the woods if you need anything. Nestled on 1 acre of our 10 acre hobby farm, which includes Peacocks, chickens, 4 cats, 5 Collies and a Weimaraner named Maggie, as well as a couple of goats, including a very friendly dwarf goat named Pickles. Our private campsite sits in the bend of one of our farm's creeks with two large old trees in the middle, along with a fire pit, picnic pavilion, 2 Adirondack open-air cabins, and an outdoor bathhouse.
Whether you are booking for just yourself or a group up to 8, you have the entire campsite to yourself during your stay. Each Adirondack cabin can sleep up to 4. Each is complete with a queen bed and twin bunk beds.
Please bring your own pillows, sheets and blankets as well as towels and washcloths for the outdoor bathhouse.
The bathhouse includes a shower with hot water, toilet/changing stall, and outdoor sink for washing hands and dishes. No dish soap is provided, so bring your own. There is no electricity in the campsite so please bring flashlights/lanterns. The pavilion and bathhouse have beautiful solar powered string lights that automatically come on at dark.

The front of the campsite sits just outside our horses' pasture. So while sipping your morning cup of coffee, you may see horses or wild turkey or even deer. And with our farm store just a short walk from the campsite, you can pick up fresh eggs for breakfast or a juicy steak for dinner. We also have plenty of fire wood, fire starters and bagged ice available for purchase. Also enjoy a walk on our private farm walking trails. Nestled on five peaceful acres near Arrington, Franklin, Nolensville, Murfreesboro, and Nashville, this cozy barn retreat is the perfect escape to relax and recharge. Designed and built by a husband-and-wife duo, it blends rustic charm with thoughtful touches—featuring a king-size Casper bed, a cozy loft with a double bed for kids, and front porch rocking chairs ideal for morning coffee or evening sunsets.
The kitchenette includes everything you need to make a hot meal—cookware, dishes, utensils, and a small refrigerator/freezer that can be pre-stocked with your favorite drinks upon request. There’s also a cooler on the porch and a small bar top that doubles as a workspace with a view.
Guests can enjoy outdoor amenities including a fire pit, a stocked fishing pond, and fresh eggs upon request. You’re welcome to stroll the property, but please avoid the main residence’s deck, pool, and front yard. Fishing poles and tackle near the grill area are free to use—just return them after. Children must always be supervised around water.
Please park on the gravel driveway only. Chickens roam freely during the day, and while they’re friendly, the rooster can be protective. Our dog, Petty, may wander by to say hello—let us know if that’s an issue and we can make arrangements. The tree swing and swing set are for children 12 and under.
The barn accommodates two adults, and the loft is for up to two children. Please use caution with the ladder and never leave children unattended. Guests must be at least 25 to book.
Your unit is part of a larger barn; the remaining space is used as a personal workshop that owners may occasionally access. These areas remain securely locked.
This charming space offers a peaceful country retreat with the right mix of comfort and adventure. Whether you’re roasting marshmallows by the fire, fishing in the pond, or simply rocking on the porch, you’ll find plenty of reasons to slow down and stay awhile.

A charming little cabin on a beautiful property! I stayed here with my three dogs, and they loved having the space to roam freely. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, and the modern bathroom was a nice touch. Both the main room and the bathroom have their own window unit. Keith was wonderful to chat with, a friendly and welcoming host.

1 night at Kahu Farm
We had a great experience camping on Lora's land. She welcomed us in with her husband and showed us around the property. I paid for some of her home made bug spray which worked extremely well and is all natural. The property was private, quiet, and clean. They had a bathroom and water, an outdoor kitchen, fresh eggs, fresh goat milk, well behaved animals, beautiful award winning goats. She made us a cup of coffee in the morning, provided firewood, amazing spring water. The tent was clean and warm, she provided us with blankets and basic essentials. Beautiful outdoor shower. She allowed me to take some photos on her property. Great time.

We loved the glamping cabin and the views. It matches the description well. Great place to stargaze too we spotted some meteors as well! But it was super chilly and there was just one heater so that was little hard to sleep we assumed there would be more. But in summer I think it would have been the best. We didn't get to interact with hosts a lot but they were super responsive. Would definitely recommend but come geared up.

Weekend Trip to Kahu Farm
We went for a night out. Call us crazy cause we didn't drive but about 15 minutes. We went glamping for the first time. If you haven't I do recommend it. We had a nice tent with the softest queen size bed ever built on a platform. Nice portable potty in a small tent right outside. A fire ring that they provided the wood for. A double hammock and a dinning outside table. If that wasn't enough a short walk on a path would take you to the outside kitchen with anything you could need. Also provide indoor plumbing with a huge shower. The host was amazing. Spend our morning on their front porch just talking. The kids can see chickens and goats. They have 2 doggies and the most interesting bird that talks and sings. They also offer kayaking where they drop you off and pick you up. We will definitely be going back even being so close to home. It's just the getaway on the edge of Lewis and Lawrence county that gives you the feeling of being in a mountain setting.. I wish I would had taken more pictures of the amazing farm but I did not. I will next time for sure. We booked through hip camp. Definitely recommend for a night out. Also they do have some solar power inside the tent. Last night it stormed and was cold out. But inside was dry and super warm.

The campsite was very nice, with great personal touches and everything we needed during our stay. There were strings of lights hung throughout the main camp area, which was great for getting around at night. The large tent had everything one might need, from cookware and utensils, blankets, seating, as well as a bed AND a fan for cooling off. The entire setting was very pretty and relaxing, with the tent on a deck perched over large rocks with thoughtful mulched pathways throughout. It was a very nice place and our hosts were very easy to get in contact with, making sure we had a great time. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great campsite with extra perks.

This place is just magical. So much history and if you want to know the story, just ask Keith! Who, btw, is an incredible human who will make you feel comfortable and completely at home, but also away from it.
Amenities, there is not a kitchen, but there is a mini fridge and a microwave. There aren’t any cooking implements, or dishes, but there is a propane grill, hibachi (charcoal), and HUGE firepit, and if you need some cookware, Keith can hook you up (not to blow up his spot). The bed is super comfortable, don’t try lighting a fire unless the flu in the fireplace is wide open(ask us how we know), the shower gets hot, two ac units keep it super comfortable, and there’s a spider we named “ole’ 4 legs” (she has 8 legs, we just called her that for short) that builds a web on the porch each evening that is magical to watch.
Other than it being perfect, it’s even more perfect when it rains. The front porch is the perfect vantage point for the mist relaxing time you’ve EVER had listening to the rain.
Ok, I’m going to stop before I give away too much of the secret and we can never book it again. That being said, it’s terrible and you’ll hate it. Stay away. 😜 jk it’s amazing. Thank you, Keith!

We had the best time at Sacred Dog Ranch this past weekend and feel like we made lifelong friends with Lisa and Gary. Our dog, Sage, played with his fellow Dal new friends, my daughter rode Fancy the gorgeous horse and we felt like instant family. It’s right outside Nashville and remote enough we didn’t feel like we were in a cookie cutter suburb. Lisa was so welcoming and generous with her authentic self. My kids and I loved our visit and will be back.
