Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

It's like having your own private summer camp! The unfurnished cabin is dry and clean. A huge upgrade from a tent (feel free to pitch your tents if you like)! The bathhouse offers hot showers, a flush toilet, and sink. The open pole barn has a deluxe camping kitchen set up with pots and pans, a propane stove, a coffee maker, and a dishwashing sink. There is also a dining table and chairs. While the property is close and convenient to Chattanooga, once you are enjoying the serene woods, shady trees, starry nights, and quality time with family and friends you will forget all about the city! While there are no full-time residents on the property, there is a small functioning horse farm about 100 yards from the camping area. On most days the owner will stop by to care for the horses, and teach riding lessons and equine therapy.

The space Our 4 meter canvas bell tent offers a cozy 132 sq ft of space which can accomodate a twin size mattress in addition to the provided queen bed. Little River is considered to be the purest, natural flowing river in the state. Bring your fishing gear and kayaks. Sit on the rocks at the base of the waterfall under the rhododendrons and holly trees, and wade in the water in the warm months. Park on the side of the road in front of the Cynefin sign. There are solar lights illuminating the path to the tent if you arrive after dark. There you will find a "Little Red Wagon" that you can use to bring your luggage down. Other things to note • The river will rise and fall depending on how much rain we are getting. It tends to be lower late summer to early fall. We cannot guarantee water levels. • This is primitive off grid camping. There's no electricity or running water. We recommend bringing a portable battery pack to charge devices. • Please be respectful of any wildlife (there are white tail deer, raccoons, weasels, harmless black snakes, mink, foxes, coyotes, many birds, and the extremely, and we do mean extremely, rare black bear), while fishing in the little river is allowed, hunting is prohibited.

We searched for 3 years to find the perfect piece of land. We found it in our 45 acre wooded piece of heaven. There is a 5 acre pasture, a half acre pond, a creek, and the rest is a beautiful mix of hardwood and pine. We are working on building a small cabin next to the pasture, and have cut trails through most of the property. We have one developed campsite, and plan to create more. Learn more about this land: We have a Tentsile 3 person tent, and there is a large Tentsile hammock. *[There is an age limit for anyone camping in the Tentsile tent. We ask that no one under the age of 8 climbs up into the tent.] There is also a 6 person tent, on the ground, if being in the trees is not your thing. There is a short 0.4 mile walk to the campsite that takes about 7 minutes to walk. We will bring all your stuff up for you. The camp site is on hill over looking the creek. It is located on one of the back corners of our 45 acre wooded property. We have made trails throughout, so there is plenty to explore. We are just a short 15 minute drive from Parksville Lake, and white water rafting on the Occoee. This campsite is a 10 minute walk from the main house, and you will have total privacy. There is also a pond and fishing boat, hammocks and swing by the creek, chickens, peacocks and flower gardens on the property.

It's called the Village on Sewanee Creek, named for the creek 800 feet below the bluff where we are located. I traveled the world as a senior executive for Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, Papa Johns, Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and other retail franchises, making the world safe for Pizza, Ice Cream, Pancakes Video Rentals and American convenience. And I was ready for something more fufilling. I scouted for a place of exquisite natural beauty and I found it here. I bought way too much land just before the real estate bust and learned how to turn a nice fortune into a very small one. I faced challenges and had lots of fun. Now I want to share our experience. It's the Village 2.0 for guests. Or not. Life in the city is OK as long as you can get away frequently. I'm convinced if you love nature and the outdoors, this is the best place to celebrate it.

It's like having your own private summer camp! The unfurnished cabin is dry and clean. A huge upgrade from a tent (feel free to pitch your tents if you like)! The bathhouse offers hot showers, a flush toilet, and sink. The open pole barn has a deluxe camping kitchen set up with pots and pans, a propane stove, a coffee maker, and a dishwashing sink. There is also a dining table and chairs. While the property is close and convenient to Chattanooga, once you are enjoying the serene woods, shady trees, starry nights, and quality time with family and friends you will forget all about the city! While there are no full-time residents on the property, there is a small functioning horse farm about 100 yards from the camping area. On most days the owner will stop by to care for the horses, and teach riding lessons and equine therapy.

It encompasses 994 acres of private forested land on Whitwell Mountain, which is part of the Cumberland Plateau in Southeast Tennessee. Take a hike on miles of trails comprised of forest paths, old wagon roads, or coal mining roads. If you find a chunk of coal on the ground feel free to take it home with you as a souvenir. If you are a history buff, you may be interested in discovering previous caretakers from the late 1800's and early 1900's in nearby cemeteries. The camp ground is on top of a mountain, and you will have to go through a locked gate and drive over a mile and half on a bumpy gravel/dirt road. You will be most comfortable in a vehicle that is suitable for rugged terrain.Day trips less than an hour away include the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Nickajack Lake and Bat Cave among many others. Come to hike, relax, bike, explore, and recharge.
