Tent
We took advantage of an unusually warm December day and camped at our favorite farm. We love this property for its old trees, old barn, the chickens and horses. At night, we heard coyotes, owls, some frogs, and a deer happened to walk by my tent. We especially love Frank, the host. Frank is so friendly and very responsive to any need that you may have. He loves working his land, and it shows. It’s always a pleasure to talk with him and we can’t wait to come back in the spring and summer.

With kids
What a view! This was the perfect spot for just hanging out and relaxing, with fun hiking and sightseeing nearby. We brought our 3 young children with and they had a blast in and outside of the camper, which was clean and contained everything that we needed for a couple of nights. Sheila and Sam were wonderful hosts, great communicators and friendly. Thank you! Would visit again.

We really enjoyed our time at Camp David! The Cumberland Plateau is a beautiful place and this property is a great home base for exploring—or just staying put and relaxing. It had all the amenities we needed to be comfortable while still "roughing it." It wasn't quite as private as we'd expected based on photos, but we enjoyed getting to know the hospitable hosts and really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend!

The Cowgirl was completely sucluded as advertised. Only us and the wildlife. Dogs had plenty of room to roam off leash as well. They loved it. Cabin is well stocked with everything you need. Amy was very responsive. Would definitely Glamp here again. :)

Frank, the host, was welcoming and gave us a nice tour of the farm when we arrived. We camped near the riding ring, which offered a wide, open space. If you're planning to use a hammock, be sure to bring a stand, as there aren’t any trees in that area. For tents, the ground was soft and free of rocks, making it easy to set up and comfortable for sleeping.
During our stay, we enjoyed meeting the cows and horses—especially Pretzel, who completely stole my heart.
At night, the farm felt magical. Fireflies lit up the dark, and we drifted off to the calming sounds of frogs, ducks, and birds echoing across the fields. The air was rich with the sweet scent of hay, grass, flowers, and trees—it truly felt like a serene escape.

Weekend Trip to Camp David on Cumberland Plateau
We highly recommend staying here! Our original trip fell through so we booked this place at the very last second and Shannon was very accommodating. We stayed 2 nights. The tiny home was a perfect size for me, my husband, and our dog. There’d be room for probably 3 more people too if you wanted. It was our anniversary weekend so we wanted to go somewhere secluded so we didn’t have to deal with anyone else and so our dog could run around off leash and that is exactly what we got. It was very quiet, all you could hear was the creek running and the birds chirping. Our weekend was kind of rainy but the spacious covered back porch still made it an enjoyable weekend. We’ll be back for sure.
Side note if you love nature, we heard whip-poor-wills at night and saw turkeys in the morning.
