BBA guests frequently camp with a tent, vehicle, smaller camper, hammock tent, roof top tent, pop-up camper and similar styles.  Most photos in this listing are taken onsite. Please keep in mind this is primitive and wild Tennessee landscape that may also contain poisonous plants and wildlife in or around camp. Access to fresh water fun is a short down-hill hike for all guests, with the exception of our hike-in campsites which are positioned alongside the river. Each spot has been strategically selected to provide as much privacy as possible, and comfortably accommodates groups with two vehicles. We provide a rock fire pit and heavy-duty, cast-iron grill grate. You provide everything else, including drinking water and personal toilet waste bags if you plan to use our system. The hike-in sites come with extra seating.  Every guest must be included on your reservation, and adult guests may be required to provide identification. Thank you! COMMUNITY COMFORT STATION: There is a comfort station with an outdoor shower stall for hanging your own solar shower bag. The comfort station also includes a changing room which doubles as a private place to use your portable camping toilet. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags, available at most camping supply stores. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires. OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS:  Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect hilly terrain and potential bumpy or some muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. We ask all guests to help us minimize impacts by driving with care. Vehicles with low ground clearance or low-profile tires are no longer permitted to use the off-road drive and must park at the entrance. If you want a campsite with the shortest walk from the entrance parking area, you will want to select campsite 5, 9 or 6. When the road is open during unusually wet periods, we recommend AWD or 4WD as a precaution. We are continuously working on improvements for our off-road drive. Belle and Beau Acres is a farm homestead with a personal campground, conveniently located less than five minutes from I40.  Expect nothing short of 360 degree views of relaxing nature, privacy, and spontaneous adventure when recreating at this agritourism location. The Property: Located north of Cookeville in the rolling hills and farmland, our property is on Spring Creek, a state scenic river. Situated between two waterfalls and featuring over half a mile of river frontage to explore. Float, fish and relax listening to the cascading water. Perfect for bird watchers- blue and green herons, ospreys, hawks, bald eagles and more. You may spot the creek critters- minks, beavers, and otters. Various types of bass, craw dad's and minnows are in the creek. We operate similar to a state park. We are open to the public from 10am-7pm, peak season. We have other listings that are spaced so each of our guests has privacy. Please see aerial photo for an overview. We sometimes have small events (birthday parties, ect) at the pavilion. Please feel free to message us first, if you would like to see if there are any events during your stay. There are 2 restrooms centrally located at the pavilion. One bathroom has a shower with hot water, soap, shampoo/conditioner included. The restrooms are shared with our other listings. There are USB and regular outlets in the pavilion and WiFi. During warm season the outdoor kitchen is available as well. We also rent out a Suite which is located above the pavilion. Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. Pets are welcome as long as they are leashed and picked up after. Please note there is a gun range 2 hollers away and depending on the season, it can be heard from our property. Tent in the Trees Listing: Your tent site is built above the trail and overlooking the creek. The tent is equipped with a queen bed, linens, extra blankets & essential cooking gear. There is a fire pit with grill and griddles for cooking over wood or charcoal. Really, all you need is clothes, food and drink! Primitive Camp Site: The rustic camp site is DIY. It is 300' from pavilion, and 600' from Tent in the Trees. We provide a picnic table and fire pit You bring all the rest of your gear. Typically, you may park next to your campsite. We discovered this small homestead 18 years ago. It was built by a man preparing to go off grid, but he never did. In the intervening time, we became enthralled with growing vegetables, raising ducks, grazing sheep and hiking the hills behind us. Then Nicole discovered permaculture and began the process of changing the land using these practices. With our three dogs, cats, goats, sheep, rabbits, ducks and chicken (there is only one chicken), things can be pretty merry around her. There are aquaponics and hydroponics to check out for fun. Plus, Nicole is one of the region's only craft coffee roasters, so you are in for a treat if you come visit and like coffee because she tends to make coffee most mornings. Learn more about this land: Hang your hammock or pitch your tent in the back acres of a small homestead integrating permaculture practices. Hang out in our land for your whole visit checking out the holler we live in, dunk in the creek by the road, or drive over the hill to Center Hill Marine, or across the dam to Edgar Evins State park, or canoe the Caney Fork River! Sorry - No dogs please. Kayaking and fishing is also so close you can almost hear it - but you can't. Which is good.  Our property has a composting outhouse and the outdoor shower attached to the house has hot and cold water. We also have a nice, outdoor kitchen area to share that has a big sink and blackstone griddle. There is Wifi in the kitchen area and a plug for recharging devices. The camp site is a two-minute walk from the driveway and outhouse so be prepared to carry items in and take your morning constitutional walk.  We sometimes have homestead-produced items for sale. This is a functioning homestead, so we may be hosting an open house event, processing animals, or some other fun homestead happening activity during your stay.

It's a mountain or some may say a hill. We call it a mountain because of the rock bluffs, cliffs, and dramatic nature of this spot. As such, there are cliffs you could fall off, trails that are difficult and dangerous at times depending on your hiking skill level. Quarter Spring Farm is located in Liberty, TN on the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau. It comprises 63 acres of wooded ridges and hollows with exceptional hiking and distinct landscape features. Smith Fork Creek, which feeds Center Hill Lake, is visible from the campsite. Quarter Spring Farm’s history is murky and still being discovered. The house is over 100 years old. There are stone property walls that may predate the civil war. We believe this site was a Mississippian period settlement because of the large amount of artifacts we have found. Please note: there is no electricity at the dome. There will be a battery with a light and the option to charge your phone. There is no parking at the dome. The walk is uphill and takes about 5 minutes or so. This is still a tent, the dome is not insulated and is not 100% sealed. Bugs do get inside from time to time. I will also provide you with water for cleaning and at least a gallon to drink. Just let me know if you need more. If you can get here before it gets dark, that is the best. If you can’t, that’s ok, we’ll just be hiking in the dark. Luckily I know my way around pretty good.

Little Bone Cave campground is in the mountains of Tennessee with hiking trails and a beautiful view located on 16 acres. This campground adjoins Bone Cave State Natural Area located in Van Buren County. Big Bone Cave is a 400 acre natural area with trails and a cave that contained bones of a giant ground sloth discovered in 1811 and is maintained by Rock Island State Park. The cave is not currently open to the public. Rock Island State Park (swimming, fishing and hiking) is only 6 miles from the campground and Fall Creek Falls State Park (swimming, fishing, hiking and home of the Annual Mountaineer Folk Festival) is a beautiful 25 mile drive through the winding roads and mountains of Van Buren county. A public boat ramp maintained by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is two miles away to access the Caney Fork River. Come enjoy with friends and family. Campsite #1, "Valley View" is a Rv with 30 amp electric with sewer and water or it can be a primitive campsite that is a wide open space and is approximately 1-2 acres with a beautiful view overlooking the valley below. We do have electric, sewer and water 340 gl tank with a hose, a picnic table and a fire ring at this site. if you'd prefer, you can locate a spot of your choosing off the beaten path anywhere within our 16 acres (ask the hostess for details). We now have rv hook up with a 30 amp electric service, sewer and water available. We have wildlife such as bobcats, coyotes, deer, owls, snakes, turkeys and rumor has it, maybe even a bigfoot. Drive down the winding foot hills on the paved rd or the 4 wheel drive recommended dirt rd to a public but secluded boat ramp and swimming area. Both roads are less than 1 mile from property. The boat/swimming area is located directly across from Davies Island. A great kayaking trip is about a 5 1/2 mile paddle around Davies Island. About half way around the island is really nice beaches to stop for lunch. Hikers would enjoy the trail walking at the water’s edge along the peninsula(water level permitting). Great places for fishing too.

Quarter Spring Farm’s history is murky and still being discovered. The house is over 100 years old. There are stone property walls that may predate the civil war. We believe this site was a Mississippian period settlement because of the large amount of artifacts we have found. Please note: there is no electricity at the dome. There will be a battery with a light and the option to charge your phone. There is no parking at the dome. The walk is uphill and takes about 5 minutes or so. This is still a tent, the dome is not insulated and is not 100% sealed. Bugs do get inside from time to time. I will also provide you with water for cleaning and at least a gallon to drink. Just let me know if you need more. If you can get here before it gets dark, that is the best. If you can’t, that’s ok, we’ll just be hiking in the dark. Luckily I know my way around pretty good.

My partner and I made a last minute decision to go camping when our schedules changed. Patti was extremely friendly and communicative immediately when we made our reservation. I really enjoyed hearing from her. The campsite is not very far from Nashville and was a perfect getaway. The campsite has three guard dogs that are SUPER sweet. They were very playful with our 1 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd (who still thinks he’s, like, a 6 month old). We also felt very happy that these dogs were guarding us during the night. The road is somewhat close to the campsite but it didn’t have heavy traffic. This site was perfect for the three of us looking at a short, impromptu night away from home! The creek and birds were lovely to wake up to and we came home the next day cheerful and relaxed. We were at Site 2, but Site 3 also seemed great for a larger group.

We loved our time at Campsite on the Caney. It is very centrally located -- 15 minutes from town, 30 minutes to an hour to over a dozen state parks & waterfalls to the West, North, & South. Smokey Mountains 2.5-3 hours to the east. Chattanooga 1.5 hours south. We were out from sunrise to sunset for 6 days straight and barely scratched the surface. We had some cold fall days and weren't able to take advantage of the kayaks but the site was gorgeous and wish we had a couple more days just to hang out at the site. Other than a couple cars a day passing by, we never saw anyone the entire 6 days. Our dogs loved it. The host was very hospitable and responsive. I would recommend this site to anyone especially if you have pets and enjoy privacy.

The pine forest behind the camp was also the perfect place for our hammocks and many games of hide and seek. There was a fire ring at the campsite and plenty of soft grassy spots for our tents. Our stay at Belle and Beau Acres was absolutely perfect! We chose two reserve both of the hike in camping sites down by the river for extra privacy. As advertised, it’s a short hike in, but the trail is narrow and a bit steep—so plan accordingly. The effort is completely worth it, though. The sites are very private, nestled between two hills beside a gently flowing stream. The combination of privacy and the relaxing sound of the water made for an amazing atmosphere. The farm itself is in an ideal location. When you arrive, it feels like you’re deep in the countryside, yet you’re only about 15 minutes from downtown Cookeville for food or supplies. Plus, both Burgess Falls and Cummins Falls are just a short drive away—highly recommend visiting both! Christine and her husband were incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. I really appreciated how thorough they are and how they verify that all guests are registered—it adds a nice sense of safety and respect among everyone on the property. Everything about our trip was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back!

Belle and Baua Acres was absolutely incredible! We reserved hike-in tent sites #2 and #4, and they were just as advertised. The short, somewhat steep hike down makes it important to pack light, but it’s well worth it once you arrive. If you’re looking for a peaceful, primitive camping experience with plenty of privacy, these sites are perfect. Both sites sit just a few feet from a tranquil stream—an ideal backdrop for relaxing by the water or drifting off to the sound of nature. Christine and her husband were wonderful hosts: incredibly responsive, organized, and clearly take great pride in maintaining their beautiful farm. The location couldn’t be better—close to Burgess Falls and Cummins Falls, both stunning hikes with breathtaking waterfalls, and only about 15 minutes from Cookeville if you need supplies or want to grab a bite to eat. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Great hosts, great place, great location, and an all-around amazing stay. 100% recommend!

We hosted a beautiful little 4 acre Hipcamp in CA for years, and sold to buy this 250 acre magickal property in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee, just 20 minutes from Fall Creek Falls, Tennessee's most beautiful State Park. Our property is one of a kind. We are on high ground, which means the bugs are not bad, and the views are amazing! We have amazing views of the Sequatchie Valley. We have the most incredible rock formations, some are huge, it’s our favorite part of the land. We have an amazing swimming hole with a huge flat rock right next to it for the most relaxing swimming days! We have 3 beautiful creeks that join at the bottom of the property with a small swimming hole where they join. The creeks have incredible rocks throughout, and are somewhat challenging places to hike, but absolutely beautiful to hike up and down. We have over 20 miles of roads and trails that are amazing for walking, hiking, and horseback riding. There are almost endless areas close to us for ATV riding, so we ask our guests to ride off property to keep our place peaceful. We don’t mind noise from a happy gathering or people playing but we try and keep machine noise down to a minimum. We have places for any type of camping, from backpack camping to Motorhomes, but at the moment we do not have hookups and limited on gravel rv areas, but many off gravel areas. The property has every type of wildlife Tennessee has to offer. Please be kind to our wildlife and don’t feed them. We have extensive cave systems from natural to old coal mine caves. There are endless dangers to these caves, from collapsing, to gases, and others… we ask you to enjoy looking from the outside and don’t go adventuring in. We are fun easy going people, and we ask our guests to be the same.
