Access to fresh water fun is a short down-hill hike for all guests, with the exception of our hike-in campsites which are positioned alongside the river. Each spot has been strategically selected to provide as much privacy as possible, and comfortably accommodates groups with two vehicles. We provide a rock fire pit and heavy-duty, cast-iron grill grate. You provide everything else, including drinking water and personal toilet waste bags if you plan to use our system. The hike-in sites come with extra seating.  Every guest must be included on your reservation, and adult guests may be required to provide identification. Thank you! COMMUNITY COMFORT STATION: There is a comfort station with an outdoor shower stall for hanging your own solar shower bag. The comfort station also includes a changing room which doubles as a private place to use your portable camping toilet. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags, available at most camping supply stores. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires. OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS:  Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect hilly terrain and potential bumpy or some muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. We ask all guests to help us minimize impacts by driving with care. Vehicles with low ground clearance or low-profile tires are no longer permitted to use the off-road drive and must park at the entrance. If you want a campsite with the shortest walk from the entrance parking area, you will want to select campsite 5, 9 or 6. When the road is open during unusually wet periods, we recommend AWD or 4WD as a precaution. We are continuously working on improvements for our off-road drive. Situated between two waterfalls and featuring over half a mile of river frontage to explore. Float, fish and relax listening to the cascading water. Firepit has natural log seating and several more folding chairs, pillows and outdoor blankets stored in waterproof chest. Tent features a queen size bed, adult size folding cot stored under bed, adult size sleeping pad, 2 upholstered chairs set up as reading/relaxing nook, coffee maker, and Yeti battery pack for electrical and charging needs. We will provide drinking water and extra water for washing up. We supply all linens and dishware needs. First Aid Kit is provided, but we are just a short walk through the woods if you need anything. Nestled on 1 acre of our 10 acre hobby farm, which includes Peacocks, chickens, 4 cats, 5 Collies and a Weimaraner named Maggie, as well as a couple of goats, including a very friendly dwarf goat named Pickles. You may also see wildlife, such as deer and turkey, strolling down the meadow on the lower part of your site. We updated the outdoor kitchen with a 3 burner propane stove, propane grill and hot running water with a 3 bay sink. Other cooking options include a tripod over the fire and a charcoal grill. A short 10-minute drive to fire tower rd. brings you to a 2 mile loop trail with 2 waterfalls, Upper and Lower Piney Falls. Ozone falls is just a 20 minute drive. Then toward Spring City is Stinging Fork Falls at 25 minutes. Black mountain is my new favorite place especially the south overlook! The Hiking possibilities are nearly endless and close. I'll highlight one thru hike here since both trailheads are only 20 minutes away and is easy to coordinate with only 2 vehicles. It's a 10.2 mile hike that can be done in either direction and has a little something for everyone including a cave, boulder field, cascade and waterfall. Then you have massive Watts Bar Lake which is only 20 minutes away with a plethora of activities including the excursions we offer! We look forward to hosting you!

Then toward Spring City is Stinging Fork Falls at 25 minutes. Black mountain is my new favorite place especially the south overlook! The Hiking possibilities are nearly endless and close. I'll highlight one thru hike here since both trailheads are only 20 minutes away and is easy to coordinate with only 2 vehicles. It's a 10.2 mile hike that can be done in either direction and has a little something for everyone including a cave, boulder field, cascade and waterfall. Then you have massive Watts Bar Lake which is only 20 minutes away with a plethora of activities including the excursions we offer! We look forward to hosting you!

Patti was an amazing host! We showed up at night and she still showed us to our spot and gave us the best spot she had for rainy weather. The dogs were also so sweet and guarded us all night and gave us company. She also offered us eggs which is so sweet! We had a great time here :)

Weekend Trip to Chatty Heifer Farm

My partner and I made a last minute decision to go camping when our schedules changed. Patti was extremely friendly and communicative immediately when we made our reservation. I really enjoyed hearing from her. The campsite is not very far from Nashville and was a perfect getaway. The campsite has three guard dogs that are SUPER sweet. They were very playful with our 1 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd (who still thinks he’s, like, a 6 month old). We also felt very happy that these dogs were guarding us during the night. The road is somewhat close to the campsite but it didn’t have heavy traffic. This site was perfect for the three of us looking at a short, impromptu night away from home! The creek and birds were lovely to wake up to and we came home the next day cheerful and relaxed. We were at Site 2, but Site 3 also seemed great for a larger group.

Our 3 crazy kids had a blast exploring the creek & running around the large field, while our dog enjoyed making friends with several of the sweet farm dogs. 5 nights at Campsite on the Caney

We loved our time at Campsite on the Caney. It is very centrally located -- 15 minutes from town, 30 minutes to an hour to over a dozen state parks & waterfalls to the West, North, & South. Smokey Mountains 2.5-3 hours to the east. Chattanooga 1.5 hours south. We were out from sunrise to sunset for 6 days straight and barely scratched the surface. We had some cold fall days and weren't able to take advantage of the kayaks but the site was gorgeous and wish we had a couple more days just to hang out at the site. Other than a couple cars a day passing by, we never saw anyone the entire 6 days. Our dogs loved it. The host was very hospitable and responsive. I would recommend this site to anyone especially if you have pets and enjoy privacy.

It was very secluded and truly felt like no one was around. I was looking fir privacy and this site was it. Short little walk to the river that even has a swing for your enjoyment. Chris made sure my stay was perfect. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Greeter Falls Campground

What an amazing campground this is! I chose a primitive tent site A1 and was so glad I did. The tent pad was perfect; mostly level. I was glad for the tiny slope, as it allowed all the rain to flow down from under my ground tarp and 3 season tent. I stayed 100% dry. The outhouses were very clean. And the update B bathhouse was heated and immaculate! I didn’t think I would use it/need it, but a warm shower after the cold rain was a treat. Staff was friendly, responsive, and helpful and informed about nearby trails. This is a place I look forward to returning to!!

Chris’s place was so much fun! The creek provided endless entertainment for the kids, and tranquil vibes for us all. The pine forest behind the camp was also the perfect place for our hammocks and many games of hide and seek. There was a fire ring at the campsite and plenty of soft grassy spots for our tents. We also had some of the fresh eggs in the morning that were delicious. We can’t wait to come back.

Christine's land is beautiful and the campsites are well spaced to provide privacy. We loved the convenience of having firewood and fire starters on the property for purchase. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for something close to Nashville while still feeling off-grid.
