The 48 acre campground has just 3 big tent sites for more seclusion and is almost all old forest with wide trails and huge old growth trees. There is about a 1/2 acre of field to park in between the road and the creek if you don't have an off road vehicle. The rest is woods. Mother Nature has a lot to offer when you cross the creek into the first two campsites that are on the 30' creek. One big spring runs through the middle of the 2 sites with small cascading waterfalls. Both sites have string lights and 120V extension cords. These two sites are separated by the driveway and about 150' apart but a bridge connects the two if you have another couple that wants to join you these two spots are perfect for privacy and companionship. Expand the pictures to a full screen as you scroll so the description will show up at the bottom of the picture. Not all pictures are on the property but describe close places to visit as well. FIREWOOD: Split wood is available upon request and sold in the area (if it's available at the time) or any fallen dead wood from the forest is free. $7.00 for a 20" bundle. Please let us know ahead of time or order it on the site. SITE 1: The nicer of the two sites along the creek, has granite counters, a round fire pit with a fold down heavy cooking grate, charcoal grill and a large wrought iron table and chairs. RENT A CAMPER WITH SITE 1 or BRING YOUR PERSONAL CAMPER: Our retro style 2017 option on the other side of the creek with stairs and stones to cross the creek. Sometimes the walking stones get washed out. 30 amp. 240 and 120 volt plugs. Click on additional fees for camper electrical hook up. SITE 2: Also along side the 30' creek. There is a round steel fire pit surrounded with wrought iron chairs, a separate picnic table, granite countertop work space and a small grill. 2 fairly flat areas for tents. Set your chairs in the creek in front of your site. The clear cold water is a great place to relax and cool off or watch crawfish, minnows and salamanders and the occasional blue herron. 120V and string lights. Parking is a little tight unless you're in a Jeep of more off road vehicle that can park up the hill a bit. SITE 3: "Still Hollow" is more private and located right in the middle valley of the property where a different spring fed creek runs down the wooded valley. There is no electricity but you can still enjoy the sound of small cascading waterfalls and a creek that runs along the side of the site for a relaxing sleep. There is a granite countertop, charcoal grill and a fire ring. A small round wrought iron table and 4 chairs are there for a place to eat lunch. The old moonshine barrels are still barely standing by the spring. This site is also accessed from the opposite side of the campground on Ben Fly Rd or Greer Rd for the serious off roaders. 4 wheel drive may be necessary but a Hyundai car entered through the creek in 2 wheel drive. It was dry though. STAR GAZING for all 3 sites: There is a cleared area on top of a hill side for stargazing far from the city lights. CHECK IN: Check in can be as early as like if the present campers have checked out. You can always hang out elsewhere on the property and start your day to explore and hike till they leave. Just let us know in advance. And you can stay all day the day of check out but you may have to pack up and park elsewhere if other campers need the spot. If not. Stay till dark. PHOTOS: EXPAND THE PHOTOS TO A SINGLE VIEW! Some photos are of nearby attractions. You can see the description of each photo and which site is in the picture when you expand them. VEHICLE TYPE AND PARKING: In order to drive up into the campsite, you may need a 4x4 vehicle but definitely need ground clearance. The Southern side of the property features a mature hardwood forest full of giant white oak trees. Be sure to put on your hiking boots though, because there's a few Hills to climb. Three hills that form a beautiful valley in the center, with another fresh waterstream. The valley was once home to a 1700s settlement, so you may find some artifacts. (We just ask that you leave them where you find them.) Main trails are marked clearly with large reflectors for safety. With the near-by wildlife refuge you are sure to see and hear a variety of wildlife. We have large steel firepits in every campsite. So feel free to bring your own firewood! We ordered two ribeye dinners off the menu for our arrival night and it was delicious! Location was convenient for visiting with family members for Thanksgiving trip. Robert was a wonderful host we will plan to visit in the future. Thanks Robert!!

We've stayed here several times, and love it - is a sprawling, ramshackle farm that is a great place to spend the night camping with our trailer with our dogs. There's one or two campsites with electric and water hookups (that you may or may not be able to find) The land is somewhat unimproved with lots of mud and ruts and junk and holes (be careful). There are cars and campers strewn about. The pigs are very friendly 😁 We saw a family of bobcats crossing Eatons Creek road out front. It's SO close to downtown and the development is encroaching closer and closer - we hope it will stay wild and undeveloped forever.

this place was perfect for our 25ft rv and our dogs! they enjoyed the wide open space and were very interested in the goats and chickens. the space was a little less private than i would prefer but it wasn’t an issue at all. robert was very nice and attentive, we loved this site and will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Brand'n Iron Hills

Absolutely beautiful property and perfectly peaceful. The sites were very spacious. The ground is pretty much all creek bed and rock so wear sturdy shoes and plan to bring your own toilet solution. There’s a camp toilet sitting over a pit but it’s not what most are used to or prefer. 10/10 would recommend and will be booking several more times.

Had a great time tent camping at the ranch :-) The hosts were super helpful and friendly and we loved meeting all the animals. Two of the dogs decided to be our sidekicks as we took a scenic path to the creek and packed down our camp. Very special weekend!

I've been using Hip Camp for two years, and this was by far the most beautiful place I've stayed. I was met by the hosts who helped me back in and make sure everything was ready for me. Perfect level pad with full hook-ups. Only 2 sites, and I was the only one there. Very peaceful with a really pretty forest with trails behind my site. I highly recommend this location. I hope to come back someday!

Loved Lost Acres so much! Vinnie gave us a great tour of his favorite places on the property, and he was so, so accommodating and helpful. The property is super nice and private, but it's also very close to a Dollar General in case you forget something. Will definitely be keeping this site on our camping rotation!

Highly recommend! The property is very beautiful, and animals are so sweet and the family is friendly and are wonderful hosts! We look forward to visiting more often. We rode horses down through the creek and had a huge bonfire all night. We stayed in one of their other cabins they offered us onsite, it was very comfortable. There happen to be 5 kittens on property when we were there and they were so small and playful. This place is so close to the city, easy for a 1-3 night stay. Thank you Lisa and Gary!
