Greeter Falls Campground is located less than a half mile from the Greeter Falls Trailhead, adjacent to the 16,000 acre Savage Gulf State Park offering over 50 miles of well-marked trails for every skill level. The .08 mile Greeter Falls Trail loop connects you to three awe inspiring waterfalls as well as the nearby Blue Hole swimming area. We offer many recreational options to help you enjoy the area including Primitive Tent spots, furnished Yurts (Bell Tents) and RV/Travel Trailer sites (each with electrical and water hook-ups). Unlike many RV camps where sites are over-packed into a cramped trailer park setting, all our sites are ensconced within sparsely inhabited raw timberland; with less than 3 sites per acre versus an average of 10-15 nationally. Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

Farm animals include horses, cattle, hogs, chickens, goats, bees, stocked ponds, gardens and much more. We have strategically placed signs throughout the property to help you identify potential neighbors. If you desire the company of ducks, consider setting up camp near our picturesque duck pond. For those who prefer the rustic crowing of roosters to a phone alarm, we have four chicken coops dispersed across the farm. Our horses freely roam the front pastures. The cows enjoy grazing on lush grass and taking refreshing dips in the ponds. They also relish watching the sunset from the hill's vantage point, as it offers the best view on the farm. We are a working farm with staff tending to various jobs throughout the day. We have a map to show some of the popular locations campers have enjoyed in the past, but it is first come first serve. We intentionally leave some of our fields uncut. In some fields, the grass can come up above the knees. If you are picky with the grass, these are pastures on a farm and we do not cut them. We leave that to the animals to take care of. All of our staff are super friendly and happy to help guide you to the best camping spot and answer any questions. In searching for your campsite please note that there may be livestock in and around certain areas as we rotate pastures. Please respect farm rules and do not camp in a pasture with cattle and do not enter any gated area without speaking to someone on the farm who knows which fields the cattle is in. Potable well water can be located from the blue spigot outside of the staff housing area. Fire rings and chopped wood are ready for you to borrow and return by the outdoor shower area. Our outdoor shower is located by the yurts. If you are interested in a more posh experience, we have yurts and tiny homes for rent. We have a pool that is available to rent privately during your stay. You can use the Swimply app to book your time or you can message us through HipCamp, and we can set that up for you. Maclellan Island’s earliest inhabitants were Native Americans whose island community was likely an extension or suburb of Citico, a nearby village. Farmed in the 1800’s and early 1900’s, the island was plowed for many years and largely free of the trees which shade it today. Floods have covered the island from time to time and drove away numerous early settlers including one early farmer, Abel Kesterson, who survived rising waters in 1867 only by holding onto the horns of his cow as they swam to safety. The island eventually passed through the hands of several prominent companies as well as a number of more rambunctious inhabitants. Finally in 1954 Maclellan Island was donated to the Chattanooga Audubon Society by Robert J. Maclellan for preservation as a wildlife refuge. Maclellan Island is a unique 18.8-acre wildlife sanctuary situated in the middle of the Tennessee River, in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. It is accessible by water only. The hostel offers 3 bedrooms, fast internet, complete kitchen, comfortable beds, smart TV, fire pit, and laundry. The campground offers dispersed sites with fire pits and picnic tables, as well as clean bathrooms and a communal barn with a microwave, fridge, games, tables and chairs. You can walk our 22 acres and even take a short hike out to our bluff. Make sure to say "Hi" to our chickens and our barn cat, Strawberry, on the way. The Land at FlatTop Mountain

Off the grid, out of the way, rustic 10 acres where you can pitch a tent, take a hike and enjoy a campfire. Mostly wooded with nearby sites to explore, a few swings for fun (swings have recently been removed due to trees falling) and a fantastically cold SEASONAL mountain creek for cooling off. Always improving our place, we recently removed the 'cabins', which were unsuitable for use. The property is part of a community, which you may notice on the way to the campsite. Site 1 (The Swings) will be first left after you turn into the driveway. It is a U shaped drive, at the bottom of the U, park and walk 15 feet to site. Site 2 (Main Container) is at the end of main driveway, next to container. Drive to end of driveway, park and walk 10 feet to camp. Both are equidistant to the outhouse. Please look through all of the listing information. The road into The Land is gravel and some bedrock; high ground clearance vehicles are best but all vehicles can make the journey. Very tough to navigate in the dark. GPS will NOT get you there. Please know your poison ivy, ticks and copperheads; they all exist at The Land. Just drive slowly and navigate as needed. The buildings (*all buildings have recently been removed) on the land were built with lumber cut from the property. Previous owners farmed rabbits and had a system in place for water. The SEASONAL creek at the bottom of the slope is wonderful and there is a spot for two adults to sit down into the crisp water and plenty of room for lots of feet. If you follow the path in the middle of the property, a 30 minute walk (therefore not on our property) will take you to a beautiful swimming hole. It's cold! There is no power or running water at the property so it's an ideal place to get away from daily life and truly relax. We hope you will enjoy it as much as our family does! Please read everything on this listing. Please note that even though some pictures show buildings, there are no longer cabins/shelter on The Land. We are unable to remove pictures Hipcampers post. It is raw 10 acres so, yes there are ticks. Cover up and spray as you see fit, just be aware. Also, since it is 10 acres of trees, there is plenty of firewood. We don't leave any bundles, just find down limbs and presto, firewood.

Farm animals include horses, cattle, hogs, chickens, goats, bees, stocked ponds, gardens and much more. We have strategically placed signs throughout the property to help you identify potential neighbors. If you desire the company of ducks, consider setting up camp near our picturesque duck pond. For those who prefer the rustic crowing of roosters to a phone alarm, we have four chicken coops dispersed across the farm. Our horses freely roam the front pastures. The cows enjoy grazing on lush grass and taking refreshing dips in the ponds. They also relish watching the sunset from the hill's vantage point, as it offers the best view on the farm. We are a working farm with staff tending to various jobs throughout the day. We have a map to show some of the popular locations campers have enjoyed in the past, but it is first come first serve. We intentionally leave some of our fields uncut. In some fields, the grass can come up above the knees. If you are picky with the grass, these are pastures on a farm and we do not cut them. We leave that to the animals to take care of. All of our staff are super friendly and happy to help guide you to the best camping spot and answer any questions. In searching for your campsite please note that there may be livestock in and around certain areas as we rotate pastures. Please respect farm rules and do not camp in a pasture with cattle and do not enter any gated area without speaking to someone on the farm who knows which fields the cattle is in. Potable well water can be located from the blue spigot outside of the staff housing area. Fire rings and chopped wood are ready for you to borrow and return by the outdoor shower area.
