Weekend Trip to Adventures Unlimited Campground

We got moved to #12, which was fine. This is a full on river rat, class III and IV whitewater rafting, kayaking, etc place. We did not do either of those nor did we use the bath house facilities. They have a bar/restaurant/snack bar built around old school buses and live bands on Friday and Saturday night. We didn’t go listen to the bands, and we could only barely hear them from our spot (which was exactly what we asked for). We did get adult beverages our first night and fried pickles the second afternoon. It’s a campground so you're definitely pretty close to your neighbors, but not packed in like sardines like some campgrounds. It had a neat vibe with the bar, the music, and the rafters/kayakers hanging out. Our spot was fairly shaded. There were areas with zero shade and areas where you could barely see the sky. There were definitely some longtermers around. Tent camping, car camping, truck camping all the way up to high end rigs. All in all, a nice campground!

We had a fantastic stay at Camp Towhee Full Hookup RV site in Dunlap, TN! The site was clean, spacious, and perfectly set up with reliable water, electric, and sewer connections, a firepit, and a small bundle of wood and firestarter to get us started. There was WIFI, and although it wasn't strong enough to work when I needed to (i just hot spotted off my phone), it kept us connected and helped when we were planning our hikes for the next day. Everything worked exactly as it should. The setting is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a great spot to relax and unwind. It was close to Savage Gulf State Park, Fall Creek Falls State Park and many other wonderful hiking spots. The hosts were friendly and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s clear they take pride in creating a welcoming environment for their guests. If you’re looking for a quiet, well-equipped RV spot in the Dunlap area, this is definitely one to check out. Note: There is not much traffic on Stooping Hill Road, but we did have to cross both lanes to back into the RV spot. We have a 40 foot bumper pull and due to the angle of the site and smallish driveway, it was challenging to maneuver into position. It took us multiple attempts, including turning the truck and camper around down the road and coming in from the other direction. It is doable but I just wanted to provide a warning for anyone fairly new to pulling a bumper pull trailer as big as ours.

I love how we can just pull into our spot with hookup being easy. Most places you have to back into them. This was easy peasy and a friendly place. Great location, super convenient to all the major sites in Chattanooga. The gem panning right next to the campground was a huge hit for the kids. The staff were super welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Nice clean gravel sites with fire pit and picnic table seating. There's also a little enclosed dog park, which was great for us and our pups. Staff are friendly and helpful. You're within walking distance to the Crystal Palace (or Raccoon Mountain Caverns) and I would 100% recommend doing a tour.

Nice spot with decent size spots. Great hiking nearby. Super nice staff. Bath house was well kept. I’d stop in here again for a night. Maybe even stay in one of their glamping tents next time?!? 😜

I had a quiet few nights at raccoon mountain, went on a lovely tour of the caverns (fantastic guide for a solo tour on a slow Monday) and took advantage of the bark park for my pups. It was very cold when I was there and they did have a pipe bursting incident. But we're very communicative and everything was back up and running quickly. All of the staff were super helpful and accommodating, even when I forgot my sweater after checkout in one of the bathrooms and they kept it safe for me while I returned for it. Would definitely return!
