There are some good shops, restaurants & our favorite hardware store!! Downtown Marshall is also close, about 25 minutes and has a lot to offer! Gr8 restaurants, thrifting and cute shops along the river. Our property is about an hour away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the adorable city of Asheville - which makes for a fantastic day trip with delicious restaurants, breweries, cool shops, and more! The Great Smokey Mountains and Deep Creek are about 1.5 hours away from the campsite. The Appalachian Trail is closeby and there are countless opportunities for stunning hikes. There's also kayaking, tubing, white water rafting opportunities as well as zip lining and horseback riding. There is something for everyone to enjoy and we can't wait to share it with you! Full disclosure: We have a camera pointed at the entrance and one at the bath house door, which we can move around to make sure that when people check in they make it to the right spot since I manage remotely part of the year. We have regular yard maintenance, however, we are Country natural landscape, not parking lot type campground, so the grass is slightly higher in some small areas but truly those things are part of a sustainable and uniquely beautiful camping experience!

When you go to sleep, there's no light except the moon and stars, no refrigerator or central heating or air conditioning noise -- only the sounds of nature -- the stream, crickets or frogs in the nearby pond, dogs or coyotes in the distance. Without the glow of a nearby city, the hot tub on a clear night, the skies are dazzling. Speaking of which, the wood-fired hot tub is made by a company called Snorkel. It's perfect for 2 and can fit 3, although tight. It's Japanese style hot tub bathing, meaning no chemicals. Also, since we're not grid tied, it relies on a firebox heating fresh spring water, which you fill it with. It takes approx. 35 minutes to fill the tub and between 3 and 3.5 hours to heat (longer when it's really cold!). There's a thermometer in it, so as it gets closer to your liking (don't let it get over 102 degrees), let the existing logs burn down, choke off the air vent sleeve and hop in. With no pump sounds and the stars above, it's incomparable. The $50 fee (per 2 night rentals) covers thorough cleaning between guests and split firewood. You will be very comfortable in Little Good Egg, even in extreme weather, simply by paying attention and taking more time for simple tasks. It sounds corny, but there is a meditative quality to thinking and doing things like heating water, keeping warm, staying hydrated, eating well and choosing to do what you really want. I'm always amazed how busy I am -- and how different this kind of busy feels -- without electronics and my technological "time savers." Odd as it sounds to say this, it's stunning and wonderful to go "offline," even for just a day, and not get hit by little chirps and incoming messages that seem to arrive now 24/7. Note: Since we opened in October, 2014, guest reviews consistently tell us us best thing about staying at Good Egg is being off the grid and the treadmill of modern life, unplugging from the dominant culture and experiencing oneself as humans did 100 years ago and more. Whether it’s the absence of electricity (in the cabin), the quiet of the country, no city glow in the night sky, or the once common experience of the natural world dominating over human-made or human-crafted things, it’s astonishing for many of us to see and feel and experience without constant communications via text and email and the distractions of modern life. Many people write that they’ve learned an enormous amount about themselves, about homesteading or permaculture, and about alternate ways of being. We are located only 15 minutes from Asheville and a few miles from the parkway, surrounded by 14 acres of forest. There is a private hot tub that is all yours! Sauna available upon request. Professional massage therapist onsite as well. The house is hand crafted with unique creative touches for your delight. We look forward to having you! This home was built in 2019 by an expert craftsman with the vision of making it cozy and spacious with sweet artistic details and lots of care and love. The home is 300 sq feet but feels much more grand inside. You will be nestled on 14 pristine acres of forest, with two decks, your own personal private hot tub, and a spring fed creek not too far down the driveway. There is a gas fireplace outdoors on the porch, and an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The house has a queen size bed in the upper loft, a large twin day bed on the first level, and an extra loft with camping mats if needed above the day bed. The house can comfortably sleep 3 and up to 4 or 5 especially if a couple of them are children or petite people. The house has a full kitchen and bathroom, living room area and two lofts. For now there is a composting toilet that is easy to maintain and we are happy to help you with it if you’re on the land for more than a few days. The main house is about 30 yards up the hill, and although somewhat close, you will have plenty of privacy. We are close if you need us, but we try to give all of our guests ultimate privacy. The house is under a huge magnolia tree, so it stays shaded in the summer and quite cool. There is an AC unit and heaters in the house as well. There is a personal hot tub, which is screened in, and located on the front deck of the house now. You will love it! There is a back deck that is only for meditation, yoga, and bird watching, and we ask that folks stay silent on the back deck if they use it. Pets are welcome at an extra charge of $40 a night. If anything is needed down at the house we are available. Much of the time there is a massage therapist on site, so if you are interested in getting Bodywork please just inquire about prices and availability. There is also a wood-fired sauna on the property, so if you would like to sauna please let us know. And an added bonus is that you are only 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and LOTS of great hiking, great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, art galleries and more. Asheville is 15 minutes from the tiny cabin and Weaverville is 10 minutes away. On any given day you might see a family a deer, turkeys or bears in the front yard. There is a spring fed creek on the edge of the property you are welcome to soak your feet in, and there is incredible hiking just a few miles away. You are welcome to explore the 13 acres of property as well that the home is located on. This is not a place for parties. Our neighbors are about 200 yards down the hill so we try to respect their privacy and keep it quiet. That is why we have made the back deck a retreat/silent deck. Maximum of 4 guests.

You will be nestled on 14 pristine acres of forest, with two decks, your own personal private hot tub, and a spring fed creek not too far down the driveway. There is a gas fireplace outdoors on the porch, and an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The house has a queen size bed in the upper loft, a large twin day bed on the first level, and an extra loft with camping mats if needed above the day bed. The house can comfortably sleep 3 and up to 4 or 5 especially if a couple of them are children or petite people. The house has a full kitchen and bathroom, living room area and two lofts. For now there is a composting toilet that is easy to maintain and we are happy to help you with it if you’re on the land for more than a few days. The main house is about 30 yards up the hill, and although somewhat close, you will have plenty of privacy. We are close if you need us, but we try to give all of our guests ultimate privacy. The house is under a huge magnolia tree, so it stays shaded in the summer and quite cool. There is an AC unit and heaters in the house as well. There is a personal hot tub, which is screened in, and located on the front deck of the house now. You will love it! There is a back deck that is only for meditation, yoga, and bird watching, and we ask that folks stay silent on the back deck if they use it. Pets are welcome at an extra charge of $40 a night. If anything is needed down at the house we are available. Much of the time there is a massage therapist on site, so if you are interested in getting Bodywork please just inquire about prices and availability. There is also a wood-fired sauna on the property, so if you would like to sauna please let us know. And an added bonus is that you are only 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and LOTS of great hiking, great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, art galleries and more. We traveled as a family of 4 and two dogs and we had a wonderful time at Ocean Blue cabin. Exceptional host and cabin was amazing. We had everything and more to has such a great time. Hiking trail on the property was perfect for our young kids. We took it twice and met friendly cows on top of the hill. Hot tub was a perfect spot for after hike and evening watching the stars! We will definitely come back and bring friends with us!

My wife and I loved staying in the Green cabin. The fire pit and hot tub were the best. The cabin was great. The bed was comfortable. The shower had good hot water. The first night we made steaks over a campfire with baked potatoes from the air fryer. The second night we made hot dogs and roasted marshmallows on the campfire. It was a beautiful drive from Knoxville. It was about as close to perfect as you can get. Thank you for the firewood, and thank you for having us.

It exceeded our expectations. The bathrooms were checked regularly and super clean. Tent itself was clean and well kept, the bed was firm and comfortable. We arrived after dark, someone met us upon arrival and escorted us to the campsite and made sure all the lights worked. Great relaxing experience, would recommend!

Kevin's cabins was well stocked with all the essentials, clean, well furnished, and cozy. Great for couples! The hot tub was clean and warm upon arrival. Fire pit ready for use or cooking food over with the supplied grilling grate and fresh firewood stacked close by. Ocean Blue is a wonderful place to get away from it all for a relaxing stay. We absolutely loved our stay here. All of the sites were filled during our stay, but everybody was quiet and respectful. Kevin was super helpful with anything we needed. Sitting in the hot tub at night while watching the stars was a highlight. The cabin was kept very clean, and it was stocked up with everything you’ll need. There was also tons of firewood for the fire pit. The land also had nature trails that you climb up to see a beautiful view. We’re really looking forward to coming here again!

Tom’s camper was the perfect getaway on a long weekend for this single mama and two kiddos! It’s perfectly located between the region’s three state parks, with cozy beds, ample heat, plenty of towels and bedding, and all the kitchenware needed. The hot tub, hammock, and fire pit were perfect - the wood and snores supplies were a great touch! The outdoor tv/projection screen were super easy to figure out thanks to their excellent instructions. My kids can’t wait to come back!

The property was quiet and well maintained. If you want to unplug for a few days then this is definitely the place. Convenient to Maggie Valley, Waynesville and the Blue Rodge Parkway. I really enjoyed our stay! The only improvements I would suggest would be adding Plexiglass to close the glamping trailer in for the colder months so it could potentially be heated by a small electric heater or screening to keep the mosquitoes out during the summer. Our trip was the first freeze of the fall and the trailer got very cold! Luckily we had great sub zero sleeping bags and even a small electric blanket which helped tremendously. The moisture blowing in off the pond is really what made it a little uncomfortable. I have camped with my horses in very similar set ups for years and found these things to be super helpful. This glamping set up has electricity which could make it a little more comfortable for folks who aren't used to the elements. Great place and great hosts! Will definitely stay again.

It was a very relaxing peaceful escape from my husband and I. So the weather was chilly there was a fire pit that was able to warm us outside provide us a relaxing atmosphere for preparing our dinner by the creek. the boho tent oh my gosh how relaxing atmosphere inside and out the decor was to die for loved it stepping back into that time was so amazing I loved it so did my husband we will definitely be coming back when the weather is warmer. Love the fresh eggs waiting for us when we arrived the firewood assembled out by the fire pit for us next to the picnic table, I was absolutely just so relaxing everything we could think of was there waiting. Fresh clean sheets blankets a heater. Very nice and the host for very accommodating for anything that we could ask for but not in the way give you your privacy at the same time. Thank you for a pleasant visit to your establishment we will be back.

Ravens Ridge was a beautiful getaway. With rustic charms and spectacular views.... Even from bed! Cantral to places to explore. Went to Bryson City for the train ride through the mountains. Gatlinburg is so close as well to find fun to get into. Definitely be prepared for the walk up to the cabin but it was a beautiful and well needed retreat.

Usually if someone comes down the road it is the Post Man, UPS or Fed EX except for the 4th of July when our boat dock is often a prime location for a big fireworks display. Usually can't tell a Saturday from a Tuesday most of the time as 80-90% of houses in the area are second vacation homes and unoccupied most of the year. Only 2 houses are located past ours before the cul-de-sac. We are separated by trees and woods on both sides. Private yet very Conveniently located. Getting around Plenty of Convenient Parking located across the concrete driveway. A Large Heavy Duty Wagon is Available for loading and unloading. Plenty of Great biking and hiking spaces are all around. Close to Knoxville, Cumberland Gap, The Smokey Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cherokee NC and plenty of options should you choose to leave the lake for a while or your against fishing in the rain. We are located approximately 8 Miles to New Tazewell Municipal Airport and about 9 Miles to Woodlake Golf & Country Club. Our location is phenomenal we are an hour from Knoxville and Asheville and just about 1/4 mile off I-40. Right at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and 35 minutes from Gatlinburg about 40 minutes to Pigeon Forge (Dollywood), also about 45 minutes to Sevierville and one of my favorite Tanger Outlets!! The beautiful Smoky Mountains the National Park is filled with hiking trails and horse stables and trails. Some of the best white water rafting is less then 5 miles up the road along with zip lining and a lil taste of moonshine here and there. This property is primitive with no electric and has a camping style bathhouse. IT’s recommended for outdoor lovers and people that are not too needy. Hurricane Helene brought unforecasted changes in the land but the tranquility of the River remains. We have worked to restore as much as we could. As for us it’s still our happy place in the Smoky Mountains!
