We were fulltime RV'ers for 5 years; we traveled all across the United States before we settled in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. We decided to build the vacation site that we always wanted, but could never find.
We have 50/30/15 amp FHU's (despite what HipCamp says). We have two large, level RV spots with 50 feet between the two sites.
We have created an environment for our guests to enjoy peaceful relaxation while staying with us. We offer amazing sunsets, sunrises, wild turkey, song birds, deer and amazing Black Hills landscapes to help you enjoy your stay in this beautiful area.
We have 4 beautiful horses that adorn our landscape. We hope you enjoy watching them, but please don't feed them. We also have hiking trails and a community bonfire available for our guests to use. Well-behaved pets are welcome!

Highland Meadows Resort sits on 12.5 acres atop a private mesa in Hot Springs, South Dakota. The resort features four private cabins, two glamping tipis, and an earth home on the upper mesa — and a campground on the lower mesa.

This is the only campground resort in the Southern Black Hills with a private lake offering a unique opportunity to relax, disconnect, and enjoy life in a natural setting and guests have been enjoying it for over 100 years.
We have a variety of cabins with different floor plans ranging from studio to four bedrooms. All cabins have full bathrooms and all have full kitchens except for our studio cabins.
All of our sites are full hook-up with sewer, water, and electric with 20, 30, and 50 amp services at each site. Our pull-through sites are big rig-friendly and are between 60-75 feet long.

Because of this convenient location, some road noise may be present, particularly during the day. Once you’re parked, however, sites are oriented toward the river and walking path, where the surrounding landscape and natural sounds create a relaxed setting that feels far removed from busy travel corridors. If complete silence is a priority, a more remote setting may be a better fit.
River’s Bend is best suited for couples and solo travelers seeking a restful stop. This is not a party campground. We prioritize a respectful, low-key environment and observe quiet hours to help ensure a peaceful stay for all guests. The maximum capacity per site is four people.

Fantastic spot. If you're looking for a quiet no nonsense base camp to explore the area this fits the purpose. Wonder owners, top notch sites with a ton of room. Subtle solar lighting at night, new electrical and water hookups. Jarvis brought by a propane firepit that was there when I arrived. Picnic tables clean and new. The stream/pond provided a close up view of a Beaver on a mission cruising back and forth. Walking path past towering shear multi colored and layered rock formations that glowed with the sunset. If you're looking for a relaxed well kept site I recommend River Bend.

There is road noise since it is right off the highway but we didn’t mind it. It is centrally located to so many attractions in the area and we loved our time there. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing spot to stay. I originally found it from the apartments they have listed right next to the RV sites. The views are amazing, and sites are clean and exactly as expected. Wind Cave is about 15 minutes, and Mount Rushmore is about an hour. We didn’t have time to explore the Hot Springs town right by the location on this trip, but drove through it. We definitely would like to next time, and I think that says it all - we would absolutely come back here next trip to the Black Hills.

We had such a great experience at this campground. The host, Robyn, was so helpful and always quick to respond to any questions I had.
We travel with two "fierce" guard dogs—who are actually just puppy doodles that bark because they are curious, want to get to know the neighbors. To give us the most space and privacy, Robyn initially suggested site #6. It turned out we were the only ones there the first night anyway. The kids also had a blast playing with the outdoor games provided at the campground.
We loved it here so much that we asked to stay another night, but a group had already pre-booked site #6 for the second day. Instead, Robyn recommended site #4 for two nights. It ended up being super convenient because it's right next to a very clean and fancy porta potty.
One of the coolest parts of the stay was seeing hundreds of Turkey Vultures flying over early in the morning and late in the afternoon—it was an incredible sight to watch from the property.
We couldn't have asked for a better host or a smoother stay. We highly recommend this place.

This is a beautiful spot to camp for the evening. It was easy to get to from the interstate and the pull through spot was plenty big for our camper van. There were also tipis and cabins that would have been great to try as well. There were a few outdoor games that our kid enjoyed (connect four, horseshoes, corn hole) and Robyn told us about a nice walk to a park which was perfect after a day of travel. The toilets near the RV spots are flush with sinks. Would definitely stay here again.

We only stayed one night at Stagecoach, but as soon as we got there, we wished we could stay longer. Great setup, with level pull through sites, a sweeping view of the ridge across the way.
Clark came down to say Hello and was really fun to talk to about local food and sights.
We visited the Mammoth Site, had dinner at the Smokin’ Mexican, and got a beautiful view of the Milky Way at night. Quiet and comfortable country camping with hookups.

This felt like a fairly new campground. Very well maintained and clean…including the restrooms! I had a great stay here, despite the thunderstorms in the evenings! ;-)
Only one concern. The description for the site claims something about it having shade in the morning. I felt that it was a bit misleading, as there were a few newly planted trees on the site, but the only “shade” was around sunrise (for an hour or so) and that was coming from the hills to the east…not the trees on property.
I’d respectfully suggest an edit to the description and/or more photos of the sites so customers have a clear understanding of what the sites are like.

We had a lovely time at Robyn's campground. We had a little problem with the site initially as it had rained and the water had pooled making it too wet to set up camp. They worked with us to give us an alternate spot and eventually we were settled in. It's a great spot in Hot Springs and she had great suggestions for where to go or what to do. There's a neat park up the street with a stream for the kids to play in. And it was near down town so it was easy to run in for coffee or to get things from the grocery store.

We absolutely loved our stay, and Mr. Clark & Mrs. Shelly made us feel welcome as soon as we pulled in. They were so kind to our family! Aside from that, the site was clean and well maintained, and so peaceful. It was the perfect mix of full hookups/out of the way place. It felt like quiet boondocking but with hookups!
If you are looking for a place to relax after a day at Wind Cave or Custer State Park, this is the spot for you. We also enjoyed the fact that there was not any unnecessary light and we were able to see the beautiful South Dakota skies!
Also highly recommend the Wildhorse Saloon in town for a delicious dinner.

Weekend Trip to Black Hills & Badlands Sunrise &Set
If everyone in South Dakota is as kind as Susi and Dan, then SD is the nicest state in the country. We loved our stay in the Bunkhouse, it had everything we needed and their land is beyond beautiful. Would definitely recommend.
