Highland Meadows Resort sits on 12.5 acres atop a private mesa in Hot Springs, South Dakota. The resort features four private cabins, two glamping tipis, and an earth home on the upper mesa — and a campground on the lower mesa.
Tipis are equipped with a king-size bed, sleeper sofa, and basic kitchenette. There's a shared wood fire pit, laundry facilities, horseshoe pit, and a private bath w/ shower for each tipi. Tipis also come with a pack and play for one extra infant/toddler. Kitchenettes come with a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and some basic place settings.
The campground has several tent and RV sites, each with their own fire pit, picnic table, and power. The campground has a common area for larger gatherings and flush toilets with sinks. There are several water spigots in the campground as well: two near the restrooms and one at each RV site.
Highland Meadows Resort is located near The Mammoth Site, Wind Cave, Cold Brook Reservoir, and local hot springs. It's a short drive from Custer State Park and Mount Rushmore.

This is the only campground resort in the Southern Black Hills with a private lake offering a unique opportunity to relax, disconnect, and enjoy life in a natural setting and guests have been enjoying it for over 100 years.
We have a variety of cabins with different floor plans ranging from studio to four bedrooms. All cabins have full bathrooms and all have full kitchens except for our studio cabins.
All of our sites are full hook-up with sewer, water, and electric with 20, 30, and 50 amp services at each site. Our pull-through sites are big rig-friendly and are between 60-75 feet long.
Our biggest feature is our private spring-fed lake! You can enjoy soaking in the sun, floating in the water, taking a spin around the lake in a canoe, and of course fishing!

The Eagle Tipi was so sweet and comfortable, perfect for me and my kids. A great little base camp to explore Hot Springs and the rest of the Black Hills! It was so convenient to have electricity, fan, a mini fridge, etc. to make our whole glamping experience really easy.

This tipi was an amazing experience. Spent 4 days using this as our hub to explore the Black Hills, but it was so refreshing returning here each evening. The view is beautiful. Our hosts did a great job of making sure everything we needed was available, and gave great insights on what to do. Plus it’s a short drive/walk into Hot Springs. Fun to explore!

We had taken the tipi which wa the furthest away, so we didn’t have WiFi at our tipi but WiFi was available at the grill and tables. My friend and I stopped here for a night while visiting Badlands. The views were phenomenal from the campground and check in couldn’t have been smoother. The guests were lovely and even shared some cheese sticks with us! We went to bed with a beautiful sunset and awoke to a field full of prairie dogs. I will definitely stop in again if visiting the area in the future. The hosts are renovating so I can only imagine what improvements would be made to an awesome stay already.
