This is the only campground resort in the Southern Black Hills with a private lake offering a unique opportunity to relax, disconnect, and enjoy life in a natural setting and guests have been enjoying it for over 100 years. We have a variety of cabins with different floor plans ranging from studio to four bedrooms. All cabins have full bathrooms and all have full kitchens except for our studio cabins. We have two large, level RV spots with 50 feet between the two sites. We have created an environment for our guests to enjoy peaceful relaxation while staying with us. We offer amazing sunsets, sunrises, wild turkey, song birds, deer and amazing Black Hills landscapes to help you enjoy your stay in this beautiful area. Highland Meadows Resort sits on 12.5 acres atop a private mesa in Hot Springs, South Dakota. Fantastic spot. If you're looking for a quiet no nonsense base camp to explore the area this fits the purpose. Wonder owners, top notch sites with a ton of room. Subtle solar lighting at night, new electrical and water hookups. Jarvis brought by a propane firepit that was there when I arrived. Picnic tables clean and new. The stream/pond provided a close up view of a Beaver on a mission cruising back and forth. Walking path past towering shear multi colored and layered rock formations that glowed with the sunset. Absolutely beautiful camping area! The owners have gone above and beyond to make it nice and continue to make improvements and additions. There is road noise since it is right off the highway but we didn’t mind it. It is centrally located to so many attractions in the area and we loved our time there. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing spot to stay. I originally found it from the apartments they have listed right next to the RV sites. The views are amazing, and sites are clean and exactly as expected. Wind Cave is about 15 minutes, and Mount Rushmore is about an hour. We didn’t have time to explore the Hot Springs town right by the location on this trip, but drove through it. We definitely would like to next time, and I think that says it all - we would absolutely come back here next trip to the Black Hills.

We only stayed one night at Stagecoach, but as soon as we got there, we wished we could stay longer. Great setup, with level pull through sites, a sweeping view of the ridge across the way. Clark came down to say Hello and was really fun to talk to about local food and sights. We visited the Mammoth Site, had dinner at the Smokin’ Mexican, and got a beautiful view of the Milky Way at night. Quiet and comfortable country camping with hookups.

The hosts were very nice and had some good suggestions of things to do/see around the area. I have no complaints. I’d definitely come back.

We absolutely loved our stay, and Mr. Clark & Mrs. Shelly made us feel welcome as soon as we pulled in. They were so kind to our family! Aside from that, the site was clean and well maintained, and so peaceful. It was the perfect mix of full hookups/out of the way place. It felt like quiet boondocking but with hookups! If you are looking for a place to relax after a day at Wind Cave or Custer State Park, this is the spot for you. We also enjoyed the fact that there was not any unnecessary light and we were able to see the beautiful South Dakota skies! Also highly recommend the Wildhorse Saloon in town for a delicious dinner.

River’s Bend camp site is a first class experience all the way. There are limited sites to make your experience more relaxing and exclusive. It is the best spot in the area to spend a few nights. Kids have a blast with the river with koi and beavers. The backdrop blocks the rising sun to allow a little more time to enjoy the morning in the shade. Fantastic is all we have to say. The owners are wonderful. They have taken great thought and appreciation to their campsite. You have to spend the night if in the area.

This was a lovely, peaceful two night stopover in South Dakota. Since there are only two spots you feel very private and could sit out and watch the beautiful sunset undisturbed. Wild turkeys, a myriad of birds and the host's horses running in the rolling pasture added to the ambiance. The host was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed the Moccasin Springs Natural pools & spa and then had a delicious dinner t Whiskey River. All in all a delightful stay!
