Fantastic location for going to the national parks and the state parks and everything. Garrett was a very, very helpful. Help me get into my slots and it was a perfect spot. It was absolutely lovely at the location is beautiful. And then Garrett suggested a couple of places to go to and check out while I was in the park and he was spot on the needles. Weekend Trip to Camp Custer in Star Valley

My daughter called me needing a place to sleep for the night. After taking several minutes to try and figure out exactly where she was, I searched and found Camp Custer and it was PERFECT! She was only about 2 minutes away (divine intervention, ya think) and she sent me pictures...gorgeous! It was exactly what we needed! And Kurt & Randee communicated beautifully! I felt like my daughter was at a friend's visiting! Such peace of mind!

Weekend Trip to Cheyenne River Bottom

We found the site without trouble and our host immediately answered and gave minute details of where to go from there. The location for our next day Badlands trip was superb. Camp was private and we enjoyed exploring the property that next morning. A perfect camping experience. We will surely camp here again during our western adventures to come.

We were grateful for Garret instruction before we arrived. Found out how peaceful it was with no phone service. There was internet. Our stay was late in the season.. Woke up to see snow on the ground. The place was beautiful. We have already started talking about returning. In warmer weather next time. Thanks for the nice place to stay.

This ranch is the home of children's book author Cowgirl Annie. This property is a working Ranch. Some of the campsites are in an abandoned gravel pit so you will be parking on a sandy gravel base. I like to let my guests decide where they want to park. I may have to move guests to a different site than the one they booked depending on what is happening on the ranch or the weather. There are cottonwood stands close by that you can hike through to the river. A wide variety of wildlife live in this area, so no telling what you may see or hear. You will have a big area to yourselves. I have tried to plan areas so you won't be disturbed by other campers. I do not groom hiking trails. You will be at one with nature. You may want to bring bug spray, sometimes the mosquitos and horseflies are bad. Wall Drug and the Badlands National Park are about a twenty-minute drive. Mount Rushmore is about an hour and 15 minutes.

The blacktop driveway grants easy access for every type of vehicle. A couple of ponds, creeks, and dispersed willow, pine, and aspen trees enhance the diversity and beauty of the landscape. Plenty Star Ranch Retreat has our home, a big pole barn (RV storage), a garage/wood workshop with an attached restroom for all guests, a regular hot water shower cabin, a solar shower building, 2 small home-built camping log cabins, 7 RV sites, 9 clearly marked tent and car-camping sites, and several water hydrants fed by our well, providing great quality drinking water. 2 pets maximum per campsite, no pets allowed when booking a cabin. Check-In is 2 pm to 9 pm; Check-Out is 10 am for the cabins and 11 am for all other sites.
