We are only 1/2 a mile from the Interstate 85. So bring your tents, campers or your small RV and come and setup down by the babbling Neal creek, or rent our private covered camper located on the horse farm. Build a nice fire in the fire pits. The firewood is provided, just bring your fire starter.
The Neal Creek campsites are semi-wooded areas with plenty of shade. They are very large private, peaceful and quiet sites.
The Back Forty Camping is semi-wooded area with plenty of privacy!
View the stars at night, relax during the day or if you are into biking or hiking, go to the Overmountain Victory trail located about 15 minutes away and enjoy the 6.7 mile loop around Lake Whelchel right off I-85.

My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked and you still want to camp, look him up. He is better suited for small groups and has more privacy.

There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee.
A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite.
Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, the weather can change conditions and make it unusable.
I should also add that this is not completely private. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will also end a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view

We’re located on the quiet back side of the Lancaster Reservoir, a beautiful public lake with designated fishing days on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The waters are home to bass, bream, crappie, and catfish. There’s a public boat ramp on the opposite shore, and the lake allows electric motors only — perfect for peaceful days on the water. Kayakers are always welcome!
We’re just minutes from town, with easy access to restaurants, Walmart, and grocery stores. Clear Water Cove at Lake Wateree is about 30 miles away, and the Nitrolee access point is only 13 miles from the property. Don’t forget to bring your kayak!

We loved everything about Neil's lakeside retreat. It was clean, easy to access and beautiful. There are nice fish there and the mosquitoes were not bad at all. A great fire pit was available but we didn't use it. I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to visit again.

Katie's cabin is the perfect oasis to recharge and she is a very gracious host. We loved listening to the birds in the day and the frogs and crickets at night. We can't wait to go back and spend more time than this trip allowed. The cabin has the basic essentials, the bed is comfy, and it's super dog friendly. Don't pass this place up, book it!

We had such a good time here! We camped right by the creek in the woods- and my son spent hours catching little fish and playing in the water. We also took the short hike to the waterfall, which was beautiful despite the drought. We had fun walking the trails through the woods too. Just keep an eye out for poison ivy- we definitely spotted some!
We brought our dog, and he had the best time exploring and splashing in the creek. Jessica let us know they have German Shepherds, and without us even asking, she thoughtfully kept them put up during our stay. Our dog can be a little standoffish with new dogs, so we really appreciated that.
We gathered wood for our campfire, and when we asked Jessica if we could buy a little more, she brought us some at no charge, which was really nice. You can tell they’re putting a lot of love into this place with all the cute little touches and decorations throughout.
The shower was a nice surprise, and having a flushing toilet and sink nearby made camping even more comfortable. They had the little essentials covered too- toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and conditioner- which we really appreciated.
This was a different experience than camping at a state or national park. It felt more personal, with the freedom to explore and enjoy someone else’s little piece of nature. We really appreciated Jessica and John sharing their property with us. We made some wonderful family memories here and would happily come back. ❤️

We enjoyed tent camping near the waterfall. The ground is sandy, perfect for no lumps under the tent. A rake was in the shed, so we were able to clear the area under out tent quite easily.
There is plenty of shade to stay cool as well as sunny spots.
The pool below the falls is cool and flowing. A perfect temperature to cool of in on our late June trip.
Scott was helpful and friendly when he delivered firewood and responded quickly to messages we sent.
We would love to stay here again soon.

The campsites were very spacious, remote and very well kept. Each site had a grill,picnic table, swing and bundles of firewood were provided. The creek behind our site was very peaceful. Sites were very easy to get to as well. We would definitely recommend and or use again if we are traveling down that way again.

First Hipcamp experience. Scott was a great host and the site was just as pictured. Definitely recommend water shoes for the waterfall area. The site also has a lot of sand, I would have liked to have a pair of boots or closed shoe to wear when I was done with sand on my feet. Not a bad thing, just good to know. The sand helped keep the area clean when it rained so it wasn’t a muddy mess after which also was great. The Swings were nice. Charcoal and propane grill were nice luxuries as well. The portapotty was very clean upon arrival and had TP and hand sanitizer inside. Scott brought us firewood for an extra fee and was very helpful and friendly in every way. Solar charger works well for basic charging needs ( small electronics or rechargeable fans). Close proximity to gas station, grocery and other necessities.

We had a great time in our RV at site 2. The view of the lake/reservoir was beautiful, and the whole experience was relaxing and peaceful. There is a bit of traffic noise from the road on the other side of the water but nothing bothersome. It was great to have full hook-ups. The septic hook-up is slightly up hill so don’t be like us lol and be sure to park as close to it as possible to avoid needing an additional hose. As another reviewer mentioned, there are some ticks but that’s to be expected when you’re camping in the woods- just something to be aware of if you aren’t already. There isn’t a picnic table on site but we had a folding table that we used for cooking. We will definitely be back with a kayak and fishing rod! Thank you, Chris for a great trip!

very very pretty at night, the host was responsive and nice. since our last trip was so nice we’ve booked it for the second time now! the fire place is perfect to put a grill piece over so you can cook. we could see the stars and moon from our tent and it was gorgeous to wake up to the sun on the water! will be using this whenever we want to do a little camping trip.

Absolutely perfect! We brought our doggie for a day of swimming in the pond and outdoor fun. She doesn’t do well with strangers / other dogs so having the privacy and space of lakeside retreat was a true delight! There’s a short well packed dirt road through the property that dead ends at the pond. The host has set up a fire ring and patio table for use and there’s even a dock for fishing / lounging. We also enjoyed a stroll through the fields and surrounding woods. 10/10 we’re already planning our next trip back!

Amazing site. Incredibly unique and special. Nothing like having a whole set of waterfalls and swimming hole to yourself. Lots of parking and room to set up tents, easy access, clean porta potty, comfortable swings, table, fire pit. Lots of fire starting material from the sycamores on site. Only 10 minutes or less from local stores and restaurants if you forget anything (we actually forgot a tent somehow). We got invited by our friends and would definitely book this site again.
