FREE FIREWOOD FOR LIMITED TIME: I have more split oak firewood than I know what to do with. While it lasts, campers can take as much as they need for free. The wood is piled at the site.
Our homestead is home to our family, chickens, and a livestock guardian dog.
We also have a small orchard and a garden.
Most of our 12+ acres are wooded and our property backs up to thousands of acres of public forest land owned by Clemson University. A trail connects our backyard to the main network of hiking/mountain biking trails in Clemson Forest. For those familiar with the forest, our property is in the vicinity of Wildcat Technical, Wounded Road, and Chainbreaker trails.
As private and wooded as our property is, we are only 10-15 minutes from downtown Clemson and less than 10 minutes from the small towns of Central and Six Mile. Lakes Hartwell and Keowee are also short drives.
We currently offer a single campsite, which can accommodate several tents or a camper van. Our campsite features a composting toilet outhouse, and water is available from spigots at our house. Though fairly close to our house, the campsite has a very private feel due to being completely surrounded by a hardwood forest.

I wonder if when standing on the sprawling in upstate South Carolina, just a short hour trip from Greenville, Ed and Kitty Land heard a small still voice say, “if you build it, they will come.” While there isn't a baseball field on the property, that's about all that is lacking. Chattooga Belle Farm began as an event building set on acres with a small seasonal retail store. Soon people found their way to the soon-to-be full-fledged farm and they felt it; that feeling that you've found a very special place. Peaceful, majestic and unlike any other, Chattooga Belle Farm is quite possibly the perfect place for any event and most certainly an ideal place to pledge your heart and life to another.
Since the Lands opened their doors in 2010 they have come. There have been families, couples, groups, the media and fruit pickers who have all visited the farm; and they return year after year. Having been written up countless times across the southeast, US and more recently featured on The Today Show, the farm just keeps growing and getting better. With a history of growing sweet juicy apples, the soil in this part of the world has proven to be excellent for peaches, muscadines, scuppernongs, and blueberries. The farm also grows exotic fruits like persimmons, paw paws, Asian pears, figs, and more!
The landscape is picturesque and the mountain views are truly breathtaking in every direction. The farm hosts farm to table dinners that sell out year after year. Their U-Pick fruit opportunities evolve throughout the season with something always coming in from early summer through fall. A list of available fruit is updated often on their website, upcoming events and information about cabin rentals on Horseshoe Lake.
The recent addition of a distillery on the farm means the fruit is grown, fermented, distilled and bottled on the farm. The distillery is open year round Monday – Saturday. ged in oak barrels and aged to produce some of the finest liquors made in these mountains.
The farm store is complete with fresh produce (in season), canned jams, jellies and bottled ciders. Grass-fed, natural, antibiotic-free Black Angus beef is sold in the store. The cattle are raised on pasture which produces some of the healthiest beef you can buy. Using only natural, humane and environmentally sustainable practices, the Lands and their staff raise beef as nature intended. Bringing the best to your family has never been easier.
Belle's Bistro at Chattooga Belle Farm serves salads, sandwiches, burgers and soups made with the freshest ingredients possible. The bistro is open for lunch Tuesday – Sunday from April – October. Jen and Joe moved to the South Carolina Upstate in 2023 and discovered they were within minutes of the Foothills Trail. The trail is 76.2 miles of waterfalls, rivers, and mountains stretching from Oconee State Park to Table Rock State Park. As soon as the oldest child moved out of his room above the garage, we started hosting thru-hikers hostel-style. Fair warning: it’s an “open concept” bathroom, true studio style. Great for one person but could be awkward for two.

Loved our stay at the Bend. It was very quiet & private. No issue with noise or disturbance (even on a Saturday evening). Our hosts were extremely quick and responsive and wanted to ensure our stay went well (which it did). Fun to be camping on the river, but still just a few minutes to downtown Greenville. Hope to return!

We camped out of our truck , campsites for tents were a a very short walk from parking. Flat sites and very quiet. Two super friendly dogs greeted us when arriving. Host was quick to respond to any questions. Would happily stay here again! Only a 15 min drive to Clemson and a short drive to any and all things nature.

This was an excellent spot. It was very private since it was the only spot and secluded. The host was excellent. Bring you own utilities but it did It have a good clean pit toilet. There were plenty of tables and a large fire pit with a good view. I would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to 3 Creeks Camp and Nature Preserve
Damon was a nice host that offered assistance when needed. I stayed in the Creek Campsite and it was a joy! The property is beautiful and he has a web that was nice to sit on and look at the stars. Easy to navigate in and out of the site (even with a little sedan). Only stayed for one night, but it just so happened to be a night full of music and a light show.

The camp was large and very private. The tent site had room for a large tent. The outhouse was clean and very usable. There is. access to the trails directly from the camp. The surrounding background noise is very low, but if you are sensitive, a battery operated fan would probably cover the sound.(I always wonder about the noise level).

It’s hard to understate how idyllic this site is. The host has made a very accommodating space that really makes you feel like you’re lucky to have found it. The view is perfect, as was everything else.
A note about the driveway in. As everyone else has stated in the reviews, 4x4 is not optional, especially if you’re pulling a trailer.
There’s two switchbacks that if you’re not careful you could get in a sticky situation. I drive a f350 with a crew cab and 8ft bed and haul a 15ft trailer (21ft actual with tongue) I don’t know how anything any longer would make it so heed the warnings.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Cabin - Lake Hartwell
We loved the cabin! It was easy to find. Elizabeth was easy to get in touch with to ask questions. The cabin itself was great, with the hot tub, the Pac-Man, The grill, and all the thoughtful amenities provided (there were toothbrushes and the kitched had all necessary cookware!) We did not make use of the firepit (maybe next time!) but there was firewood on-site if one wanted to have a fire. The only caveat I would offer others, the spiral staircase to get to the main bedroom is very narrow, might be an issue if you have larger, heavy bags but there is sleeping space on the main floor.
