Weekend Trip to Scotland Pond

Relaxing, peaceful and private. My wife and I loved the entire trip. It rained most of the time. However the tree canopy was great when the rain was light. I highly recommend! We loved sleeping to the rain or the frogs. Both were nice. We will be back. We saw a fish in the lake that had to be over 3 foot long. (Unknown what kind) Lots of birds and one cat that was doing a great job hunting around the lake.

I loved this place!! It's on a pond with the geese playing in the water and the fire pit right next to it. Sitting next to the fire watching the birds play in the water and my dog run free was pure heaven for me. Don and Stephanie are super hosts. They really cared about my stay there. This is probably my favorite hipcamp ever! We arrived late at night (10 pm) and had absolutely no issues finding the campsite and the adorable string lights really helped with setting up our tent. It’s the most gorgeous spot right on the river, and so quiet and secluded while being really close to town. The bank down to the river is quite steep, but it helped keep our dog from swimming all day. I can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Waterfall camping close to CLT

We recently stayed at this beautiful Hipcamp site with three families (kids ages 4 to 10), and it was an incredible experience for everyone! The location is stunning—nestled right along a river with large, flat rocks that are perfect for wading, exploring, or just lounging by the water. The waterfall is amazing!!! There’s a great mix of shade and sun, and the sand made a perfect spot for the kids to play. We loved the setup for cooking and hanging out—it felt like a little beach picnic right in the woods. The kids especially loved visiting and feeding the goats and chickens. It was such a unique and memorable part of the trip! The animals were friendly, and the host was kind enough to let the children interact with them up close, which made it feel like a mini farm adventure. This site had everything we needed: plenty of space for tents, nearby nature to explore, and a clean porta john to use. Everyone—kids and adults alike—left with smiles and great memories. We’ll definitely be back!

We loved our camping experience on John’s land. It was peaceful, beautiful. We had all the privacy and seclusion we wanted while at the same time, John was available if we needed anything. we camped on the hill top and at first were bummed that we couldn’t be at the Riverside, but once we got to our campsite, we loved it. We could still hear the river and had a beautiful view of the sunrise. would definitely stay again.

EXCELLENT property. Quiet. The host, John, is friendly and accommodating. Directions are accurate. Property/sites are easy to get to. Both tent sites are directly on the river and spacious. Plenty of trees for shade. If you are looking to fish directly from your site- chose Tent/RV site or there are fishing opportunities further down the bank. I will be returning!

The site was scenic right by the river and we'll set for a couple of tents. Awesome views and quiet surroundings. No camp sites were directly adjacent so you won't feel like you're in a group camping environment (like state parks). Super easy to get to. Thanks and I look forward to visiting again.

We really enjoyed our trip at Nate's spot. We are locals and booked this site with the added hot tub and outdoor kitchen as a kind of staycation. It was such a treat. Everything was clean and the site has tons of space for multiple campers or tents. A bear proof trash can would be a smart addition in the future.

The land was used for crops and livestock since the early 1800’s and was passed down through the same family for 4 generations. It was sold to a new family in the 1990’s and many improvements were made, such as the creation of the large pond, additional livestock pastures, the barn and farmhouse. However, as the family members became elderly, farming became the too difficult and the land fell into disuse. Our dream is to bring the land back to its original purpose of farming, and to raise our family here, living off the land and sharing that joy with others. Waterfall camping close to CLT

My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

Short drive off the gravel road to campsite. Picnic table and fire ring provided. This is a taste of country near a small town, with the best of both worlds , and you will hear cows and trains. It’s 5 miles to the nearest grocery store. Short drive to Table Rock and Paris Mountain State parks, Jocassee , and Keowee Lakes. Close to Blueridge Parkway for Motorcycle rides or hiking. You may borrow our kayaks for our pond. Our motto is “ Leave No Trace” , so please don’t cut down trees, or burn pallets. ****** We are a Certified Wildlife Habitat and are also partnering with Hipcamp and The Xerces Society to increase habitats for pollinators . We just started working with Clemson Fisheries students to stock the pond and make it a healthy habitat ***** Cars, regular size trucks, and vans are welcome.
