Once was a pine tree farm. Now five years later it is becoming an actual small 15 acre hobby farm. We are completely solar powered and not tied to the grid. We love our farm animals and all things that we can repurpose. The farm is tucked back in the woods far from the main paved road, providing the ultimate in peace and quiet. Learn more about this land:Come experience life off the grid. Our farm was built by us 9 yrs ago in an effort to live a more sustainable lifestyle. There's nothing quite like our place in the lowcountry! No light pollution makes for amazing star gazing and our glamping sites are private. You don't have to worry about glamping near other people. Play with our goats, collect eggs for breakfast and pick some fresh produce in our garden.  Our glamping cabin is big enough for the whole family. There's a queen size mattress that everyone swears is a little piece of heaven, along with a twin size sofa bed that has a twin trundle pull out. For extra sleeping space we've added a futon that converts to a full and there's a cot under the big bed. Relax in the private water trough pool. You also have your own private outhouse with a spacious outdoor heated shower. The cabin has electricity and a small kitchenette. Keep in mind our farm is completely off grid, this means limited electricity & no AC. It gets extremely hot and humid in the south. Especially during the day. There is a fan in the glamping cabin but as of right now we do not make enough electricity to power ac systems at the glamping sites.  We are a working farm not a campground or camping resort. The farm is also located in the woods so there will be bugs of all kinds. We do not use pesticides on our farm. Many of our farm animals roam the farm, this includes horses, goats, our dog, many cats, chickens, ducks & our one goose.

I was the first person to purchase property here in 1995 in what is known as Moultrie Plantation. This is a private property community with its own private dirt road. The plantation is rich in Civil War history and people still find arrowhead 's, Civil war buttons and other Civil War related items on the dirt roads where the soldiers marched through the plantation. It is a quiet, peaceful neighborhood where owners enjoy the country life.

Edisto River Retreat

Ian's background is in art, public education, and exploring the outdoors. Growing up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina allowed for endless opportunities to explore and foster an appreciation for the outdoors. It is the peace and tranquility of the wetlands, and the time spent with family and friends in these unique ecosystems, that always brought me comfort and wonder. It was in June of 2019 that dreams of having my name attached to land became a reality. Since the contract was signed; family, friends, and I have been developing the property and programming classes and adventures to share with those who seek them. We have developed several unique sites to share with you and will continue to improve as we foster our partnership with the land and share its bounty.

Friendly Fowl Farm

The farm was once a portion of the McTureus Plantation.  Tony's family members were once enslaved on the plantation. Upon Emancipation a family member bought land and it remained in the family.  Tony is a descendant of those family members whose foresight allowed us to be here today.  Tony's parents entrusted the care and preservation of the property to us and we are doing our best to be good stewards and teach the value of this property to our children and young grandchildren.

Myrkwood Farms is a community agritourism site featuring all natural crops, goats, ducks, chickens. And primitive camp sites. 

Visit the rich historical and wild-life attractions nearby, listen to the coyotes howl on the full moon within the safety of our camp, enjoy ample opportunities for bird watching!

I loved spending mornings with the friendly chickens ! Two small black chicks perched on my toes as I sketched the awesome communal outdoor kitchen/lounge!

Up early enjoying coffee with the hundreds of chickens and noticed the only two ducks on the property. They hang out near this R/V, which is very appropriately named!
