It is a train lover's dream because we are close to the tracks and enjoy watching the train come and go so much so that the conductor toots and waves to us!! The Santee State Park has many water activities, picnic areas, and hiking trails. There are several golf courses nearby, and a local restaurant/bar within walking distance which often offers trivia, karaoke, pool tables, and live music. Pick wild blackberries in early summer and wild grapes in late summer early fall, and we may share some of our home made jellies with you. We welcome family groups year round. Our first Hip Camp experience and it was good. We were in site 2 which gave us plenty of space. It was open enough to allow use of our solar panels to top off our camper's battery during the day. Although we have a small off road camper which is self sufficient, having use of the old house for the kitchen sink and the bathroom was nice. As in the listing, nothing fancy, but it got the job done. My wife was grateful for the coffee station which is a nice touch. Overall, a good place and value for the money. It was a good base for exploration/visitation of Congaree National Park.

Lots of fun!! Very pretty spot. Nice and shady. Fishing poles and tackle are NOT included so bring your own. One thing I would like to make people aware of is that the bathhouse is on the other side of the property so prepare for a walk when you plan on using it. But it was a beautiful place and I would absolutely come again. (Maybe in the fall 😉)

We tried the glamping site our first time at Sweetwater Lake Campground. We were very pleased with the amenities they provided. It was so quiet and peaceful although the park was what looked like full capacity with rv's, we felt like we were all alone in the woods camping. Truly a beautiful spot we will book again.

Looks can be deceiving so don’t fall for it. Mike’s property was a great stay. When you pull in, it can look a little off putting with the cabin in the woods he has for you to use as a kitchen and bathroom, it honestly looks a little scary from a movie, but what a hospitable place. Our site was huge, we had firewood at our site, running water, electricity, and a great spot for our tent and hammock. We met a few other people during our stay so that was a pleasant surprise. Mike’s communication was spot on and always prompt. If we head that way again, we would stay again!

The property is truly beautiful and peaceful. Lights in the trees and along the lane were definitely appreciated and so darn lovely. The rustic cabin is just that! Definitely stepping back in time, the bungalow is so unique, with a well stocked kitchen, working bathroom and a super hot shower available. Very quiet and tranquil setting, trails, and sites equipped for a campfire. Definitely recommend!
