Very nice and secluded piece of land. Friendly dogs that came by to say hello and play with my kids. The owner introduced himself and we had a great chat getting to know each other. No issues with deer flies as others have reported. I came during early June. I would definitely come back.

Weekend Trip to EDENHOPE FARMS

If only there were room, I’d leave a review for every detail. Cynthia’s property is gorgeous and the camping site was isolated enough that we truly felt like we were camping in the woods which is exactly what we’d hoped for. Our Hostess was MORE than accommodating and even gave us an educational tour of Eden Farms. We saw baby ducks and chickens and even some baby peacocks! We saw the full grown peacocks too and they were magnificent. Yes, the rooster crows, and yes Elvis the peacock very proudly sang his tunes, but we were so happy just to enjoy the nature and the whole rest of the experience that hearing a few birds just made it feel that much more real. To top off the experience, we took home some eggs and honey fresh from the farm. It truly was magical. If you’re looking for a good, salt of the Earth experience, you HAVE to see this place! Also, if you’re interested in homesteading, Cynthia has SO many tips and tricks and the ingenuity of Eden Farms is 💯 worth learning about. I seriously cannot wait to visit again. Thank you Cynthia! ♥️

Weekend Trip to Heirloom Hamlet

I had the most beautiful first camping experience thanks to Kurt. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with such warmth and genuine care, it truly felt like visiting an old friend. He’s someone who genuinely cares, and that’s rare to find these days. His wealth of knowledge is inspiring, and his deep love for off-the-grid living shines through in everything he does. Even more special is how openly and generously he shares that passion with others. To top it all off, after we returned home and realized we had left our laptop bag at a local coffee shop, Kurt didn’t hesitate to pick it up and ship it back to us without a second thought. That level of kindness is special. We’re so grateful for the experience and can’t recommend Kurt’s hospitality enough. Truly unforgettable!

What stood out the most was Curt’s hospitality. He was so welcoming and friendly. He definitely went the extra mile to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The bath house was such a unique experience and extremely clean. And our dog was welcomed as well which is such a great feeling. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area again. Other than Curt being a tad behind on the mowing 😂 10/10

Weekend Trip to Magnolia Hill

I loved tent camping here! Me, a buddy, and my doggo camped under the trees here for 2 nights. The place is great and well taken care of and the host Lorine was a dream Super Host! She let us use her spring water to top off our containers, sprayed the grounds with anti-bug spray, and checked on us occasionally to make sure we needed anything while also giving us a tour of her grounds! Loved sharing stories with you Lorine! Will definitely be back here again.

Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Camp site was very private. Driveway was pretty rutted but you can manage by driving around the ruts.

Me and my son enjoyed our stay by the pond. At night we could easily see the path and the pond as they were lit by lights . We saw many frogs and the two small gators that inhabited the pond - We will probably go back in the years to come -

We’re a couple road-tripping and car camping along the East Coast, and this was our third night on the road — it ended up being one of our favorite stays so far. We booked last minute and were so pleasantly surprised to find such a peaceful and special spot. The couple who hosted us were incredibly kind and offered a unique perspective on their way of living, which added a thoughtful and inspiring touch to our stay. The bathhouse was adorable, and the outdoor shower had wonderfully hot water — such a treat after a day on the road. We had a private spot tucked in the pinewoods, complete with our own picnic table and fire ring. It was quiet, cozy, and felt like our own little corner of the forest. Truly a memorable experience!

2 nights at Cassabl Farm

This property was secluded and beautiful with so many mossy trees and even a small creek with the tiniest baby alligator. Hey Wally! They warned us ahead of time about the deer and horseflies but we came prepared with ALL the sprays and they weren't nearly as bad as the spot we were at before. Tons of firewood was provided for $10/day and each spot had solar lights and citronella candles. You can tell they try to go the extra mile to make their guests comfortable.

Weekend Trip to Edisto Island Vacation Rental RV

This was our 2nd stay with Ron. It's a great choice for us. We can bring our 2 labs...who love the beach...and it's just a 5 minute drive to the state park beach. Ron provides a parking pass that saves us $16 a day. The camper is clean and supplies all bedding and kitchen items plus bath towels and toiletries...just bring your toothbrush and settle in. We'll be back!

Great camp all around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Place is very clean! Bath house is amazing! Best overnight stay! Very quiet surroundings. I slept like a baby. Hosts, Curt and Annie were great and provided us with a warm welcome. We will be back again!

Great location--easy access from 95. Sites were as described, host was very friendly. Bring your bug spray, but we would definitely stay here again.

4 nights at Edisto Island Vacation Rental RV

Ron was a great host. He made sure we had plenty of fire wood every day and provided a large spot to walk our two dogs. The location was super close to everything Edisto had to offer. Ron's lot was super private and surrounded by the state park. Edisto was a super cute town with a very clean beach & no crowds. The restaurants around were all great too. We had a great time!

I loved the tent camping. The property was nice, private, but not too secluded. The outhouse and outdoor showers were amazing! I didn't want to leave. I will be back on my travels along I-95.

An idyllic little place to camp for the night. The host had many thoughtful touches, like earplugs if needed. The shower facilities worked surprisingly well and heated up immediately. A great place to stay and I highly recommend!

Why buy a home when you can build a fairytale? Hi, I'm Curt. My wife Ani, son Fitch, and I are your average, everyday nonconformists who have been running an experiment. We are trying to figure out if a family can use their own hands and some grit to handcraft a life that you don't need a vacation from. Or better yet, that you would vacation to. Have we done that? You be the judge. About 4 years ago we left our South Florida handcrafting furniture business to pursue this new goal. We set out to build an inspiring experience in simple, eco-friendly living that would find a harmony between some of the old fashioned world that we'd found ourselves missing, and the handful of modern advancements that were actually beneficial. All while keeping it classy. At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cabins, installing solar, composting, planting, and building toilets that are better for our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature. Ani and I are big believers in being mindful and respectful of our environment wherever reasonable. So, we are incorporating both alternative and municipal utilities as they can fit into our homestead design and limited budget. Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" small living can feel. We all have personal priorities and those will vary greatly, and that's okay. But no person should be so self-absorbed that we have completely shut out the importance of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our fellowman. After all, if we don't have that, what do we have? To be completely transparent, though, the creatives in us also would like it if we inspired onlookers to possibly look at their own space and life a little bit differently. We've personally found it to be so fulfilling to distinguish real desires and needs from the ones we've been groomed to pursue, and then work to make them a reality. We've found it energizing to witness our fellowmen and women pursuing a dream. We'd like to be a stimulating memory along any person's journey. Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, and that they can appreciate some of our old-fashioned ways. That, as our paths cross, we won't be held to a business-first standard that we have worked hard to remove ourselves from. We realize everyone has a right to be themselves, but our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm.

Edenhope Farms is nestled on 6 acres and is a sanctuary for rescued and unique animals. We have a Zebu bull, which are the oldest recorded bovine in history, dating back to the Bible. We have goats and peacocks, chickens, a potbellied pig, rescued squirrels, and rescued ducks. Soon to come.... Sheep!!! My property used to be the disposal site for the CocaCola bottling Company. Go on a scavenger hunt and find old bottles. Relax around the fire pit and listen to owls, wild geese, bull frogs and the Quack Pack. Lounge on the spacious deck overlooking all the farm animals or take a dip in the swimming pool. At night grill on the BBQ or have an oyster roast. We do have an indoor toilet for you to use and an outdoor shower. Go for a walk through the woods, do yoga, head to Hunting Island beach which is 10 miles or drive 3 miles to historic downtown Beaufort. We are also close to Parris Island and many other historical sites. While here you can enjoy historical tours of Beaufort County’s earliest years of the Santa Helena colony in the mid 1600’s, the revolutionary war period, the pre-civil war and plantation time period and the antebellum, reconstruction history up to the Civil Rights visits of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Historic Penn Center. The Lowcountry is great for water sports, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, sailing, hiking and canoeing. Each season offers an opportunity to participate in fishing, crabbing, shrimping or digging for oysters in local waters. Our area is a favorite of cyclist groups, the long, flat, rural, scenic, roads offer pleasant riding experiences for cyclist of all ability levels. There are bike lanes on many of the major roads. Other recreational activities in our area are geocaching, horseback riding, tennis, golf, hiking, beach volleyball, beachcombing, and birdwatching. There are a few special events throughout the year, Gullah Festival-May, Water Festival-July, Shrimp Festival-October, Beaufort Food Truck Festival-October, Soft Shell Crab Festival-April, Pat Conroy Festival-November, Heritage Days Festival-November, Night on the Town-December. There’s something for everyone. COME VISIT!!!
