Absolutely by far one of the nicest properties in the area. You will not go wrong by staying here. Great host!

I had a wonderful stay, nice and quiet and a small pond for fishing! This is a new place and I met the host and she’s working on getting it 100%. There are house around but nothing is a bother, a very private area and lots of open area for walking and family fun!

Great directions and owner was easy to reach for additional details which was super helpful since we arrived in the evening. Site was clearly marked and was tidy. Only 10 minutes from the Angel Oak which is a must see when visiting the area.

This is such a lovely place to stay! Curt is easygoing, friendly, and informative, and his family is kind (including Rosie the dog and Yucca the cat). The site is peaceful and easy to navigate. I was a little bit nervous about using the compost toilet because I was worried it would be uncomfortable or complicated or stinky, but it was none of those. Bonus: the outdoor shower is wonderful. If we’re ever back in the area, we will definitely try to stay here again!

Nice shady spot close to the rest room. The chickens are friendly and the several roosters did not sound off until nearly 8 am which was a pleasant surprise. Watching the two Guinea fowl chase each other was fun.

Enjoyed the quick stop for a Night— such a convenient location, easy to find with a quieter- than-most atmosphere with kind, resourceful & talented people! Curtis was very helpful & professional, and I enjoyed everything from the hot shower to the walking trail around the property! Peaceful & so pleasant- Thankyou!

Dustin's two camp sites are beautiful and private. The bath and shower (and laundry!) facilities are so very clean and well appointed. The screened gazebo with TV (for watching NCAA playoffs) were super comfortable and gave us a break from our van while still being protected from a light rain. So worth every cent!

Every detail about this Hipcamp was perfect! We were in site 1, the moment we pulled into the site we were blown away by the beauty of the location and how peaceful it was. We met Dustin briefly and he was very personable. We hated to leave, and would love to return.

What a hidden gem! Dustin has done an amazing job at creating this little oasis for our pleasure! The cobble patio, the screened in sitting area with a small refrigerator, the hot tub with the night lighting. The up lighting of the trees at night is beautiful. The outdoor shower and the availability of laundry! What can I say? This spot is perfect! We will be back next year, I hope and for more than a couple of days!

Absolutely loved this location! Curt was a great communicator & we never hesitated to ask questions both before reserving the site & afterwards with follow-up questions. He was so prompt with replies & made it easy to make decisions/reservations. He met us upon arrival & that is such a personal touch. He's an extrovert & conversation comes easy for him. He shared the site layout & gave us clear restrictions on parking due to common thoroughfare. Finally, we enjoyed Curt's fellow guests! His parents were on-site during our stay as well as multiple short-term guests throughout our 10 day stay. We enjoyed each interaction & recommendation.

I did not get to stay here. Not the host's fault. I was running late a d felt bad about calling someone at 2 in the morning, so I just slept ay a truck stop. 🤷‍♂️. Hopefully I can try again some other time.

Additionally, we raise vegetables and do a lot of agri-tourism including: summer camps, school field trips, and a large pumpkin patch maze each year.Our accommodations include a vintage camper, primitive campsites along a salt water creek, and an RV area on our farm.We are located just 30 minutes from nearby beaches and downtown Charleston. Use our property as your base of operation as you have fun at the beach or tour the historic city, or just stay for a quiet get away in the woods.There is also a lot of wildlife such as: wild turkeys, woodstorks, raccoons, and alligators. Why buy a home when you can build a fairytale? Hi, I'm Curt. My wife Ani, son Fitch, and I are your average, everyday nonconformists who have been running an experiment. We are trying to figure out if a family can use their own hands and some grit to handcraft a life that you don't need a vacation from. Or better yet, that you would vacation to. Have we done that? You be the judge. About 4 years ago we left our South Florida handcrafting furniture business to pursue this new goal. We set out to build an inspiring experience in simple, eco-friendly living that would find a harmony between some of the old fashioned world that we'd found ourselves missing, and the handful of modern advancements that were actually beneficial. All while keeping it classy. At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cabins, installing solar, composting, planting, and building toilets that are better for our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature. Ani and I are big believers in being mindful and respectful of our environment wherever reasonable. So, we are incorporating both alternative and municipal utilities as they can fit into our homestead design and limited budget. Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" small living can feel. We all have personal priorities and those will vary greatly, and that's okay. But no person should be so self-absorbed that we have completely shut out the importance of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our fellowman. After all, if we don't have that, what do we have? To be completely transparent, though, the creatives in us also would like it if we inspired onlookers to possibly look at their own space and life a little bit differently. We've personally found it to be so fulfilling to distinguish real desires and needs from the ones we've been groomed to pursue, and then work to make them a reality. We've found it energizing to witness our fellowmen and women pursuing a dream. We'd like to be a stimulating memory along any person's journey. Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, and that they can appreciate some of our old-fashioned ways. That, as our paths cross, we won't be held to a business-first standard that we have worked hard to remove ourselves from. We realize everyone has a right to be themselves, but our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm.
