There are 3 campsites located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

The White Squirrel Properties include a cabin, rental pavilion and camp site. The camp site sits at the top of a hill and provides a secluded flat site to pitch your tent or park your van/truck camper/truck top tent.
You will have this space to yourself.
The view is breathtaking - you have a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River, numerous sets of mountain ranges, and you are surrounded by beautiful fields. There is a rustic picnic table and a more modern high top table set with an umbrella, for your use. We have also added 4 hammock chairs that you can relax in while enjoying a glass of wine. There is a wooden platform with a small structure on it. You can stand underneath the platform and it can provide some shelter, if needed. (The structure is being renovated for a new experience next summer.)
The pavilion is a short walk and has 2 bathrooms, a shower, and a kitchen. **The kitchen is only available if the pavilion is not being rented**. There is an additional fee to rent the kitchen. The camping areas are in the back of the property and are surrounded by woods and secluded from view of the house. The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Hershey Park is approximately a 30-minute drive from our location. Rausch Creek, Anthracite, and Reading off-road areas are also nearby.

The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes. This sawmill is unlike any band mill, boasting a massive 4 and a half-foot circular saw, a relic from the years between 1935 and 1945. We run our mill with recycled cooking oil and a diesel blend.

Our glamping site is tucked away in the woods on our 27-acre property overlooking our 4.5-acre pond. With breathtaking scenery and views, this is sure to be a glamping experience to never forget!
This site features a canvas tent, queen-sized bed with memory foam mattress, firepit, Adirondack chairs, outhouse with flushable toilet, solar shower, table, utensils, propane grill top, propane tent heater, and much more! We also offer a pop-up tent free of charge for additional guests. You can bring pets for an additional $10.00 per night per pet.
There is plenty to do around the pond including a walking trail as well as fishing. There are many eateries and breweries nearby to enjoy a night out as well as local venues for some fun and excitement including Rickett's Glenn State Park, Montage Mountain Resort, and Mohegan Sun Casino.

What an amazing and awesome place to stay. I was going to stay at a campsite but was suggested to stay in the tree house. I am so glad I chose the tree house. It was nice and warm on a cool night. Would absolutely stay there again.

Nice little cabin that made camping in January comfortable with heating. Offered basic necessities for cooking. No running water but there was a new edition built on for a bathroom instead of going outside to hike up a hill to a bathroom. There’s rain collection for flushing the toilet and there’s well water to grab drinkable water from anytime. The host was nice enough to fill both water jugs before we arrived. Very friendly people, I can tell they love their animals. The farm includes, but not limited to; 2 emus, 2 dogs, some cows, bunch of pigs, a goat, and a retired mustang horse named Charles. Definitely recommend doing a tour of the farm as you can be as interactive as you want with the animals. Do bring tall boots or shoes you don’t mind getting muddy if it’s rained recently or if you’ve never been on a farm. It is a farm after all, get used to the chance of getting messy if you love animals. We had a great time exploring the trails they had to offer even while it was raining. I will say some of the trails are very steep on a hill so be cautious while exploring. This time of year is maple tapping which I would of loved to do, but circumstances didn’t allow it and that’s okay, maybe next time! Overall, a really enjoyable time here and we are planning on coming back in the spring/summer to possibly kayak and pick wild berries on the trails. Can’t wait to come back, thank you for hosting us.

Weekend Trip to Elk Creek Escape/Sawmill Woodzie
This was my second time staying at "The Woodzzy". I booked for my birthday over the weekend and it was a much needed getaway for me, my fiance and our dog. We all love the coziness of the cabin. It makes being lazy real easy. Not having phone service was amazing and a get way to disconnect. Thank to Russ for being helpful and accommodating. It also was a pleasure talking to him. I highly recommend this cabin and best believe I will be booking again!

The Wood-see is a lovely rustic cabin! We stayed for 4 nights over New Year’s when it was very cold and Russ kept us supplied with wood. We brought paper and a hatchet for kindling, which were both needed. Hope to make it back to stay again!

I rented the tiny cabin for 2 nights, and while it’s a lovely off-grid setup exactly as described, the temperatures dropped extremely low during my stay. Because the cabin has no heat, electricity, or running water, it wasn’t feasible to stay there in that kind of cold.
The host was gracious and immediately helped us pivot to a room at her bed-and-breakfast on the same property so we could remain safe and comfortable. Although we didn’t get to stay in the cabin itself, the property is stunning — wide open views, peaceful surroundings, and a true escape from the city.
I’m very grateful for the host’s quick help and hospitality. I’d absolutely return in better weather to enjoy the cabin properly.

My husband, dog, and I loved our short overnight stay in the treehouse! It was very cute and cozy even in the cold temperatures. Our dog liked walking along the dirt road and watching the farm animals (from afar of course). We would love to stay again!

Beautiful, secluded, and incredibly cozy. The barn we stayed in had full amenities and was very comfortable. The hosts were wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating. If you’re looking to get away from the city and truly relax while enjoying nature, this is the perfect place. Highly recommend!

Everything was awesome. The little cabin stayed so warm and was the perfect size for our family of three plus our doggo!
The land was beautiful. Theresa and her husband were both so kind. We loved meeting their farm of animals. And she was easy to get a hold of and easy to chat with. We will definitely be going back. The porta potty is a short walk and they are working on a bunch of upgrades in the cabin too. The emus are wonderful and sweet, we visited them multiple times a day. I could go on and on. 100% recommended for an upgraded camping experience. Look forward to trying them out in warmer weather too!

Fairview Farms was such a delight. From waking up amongst birdsong, to looking out all of the treehouse windows, to find different animals and expanses of land in each direction. Staying here was a beautiful retreat into serenity and we will most definitely be back! We recommend bringing lots of water and lanterns as there is no running water or electricity at the saw mill.

Our time in the treehouse was magical. It was my 13 year old son and I. He is 6’1” and he was able to comfortably sleep in the loft. Bill and everyone at Fairview Farms was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The stargazing was phenomenal; I highly recommend a dip in the hot tub under the stars. I would recommend bringing a heated blanket in the colder months. I brought ours and it was the perfect mix of cold and snuggly warm. There is a heater that works like a charm, with the blanket we only used it during the day.
