Rustic tent sites and log cabins on nearly 400 acres nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. The property has been in our family since the late 1800's, initially operating as an ochre mill. We are near the historic town of Jim Thorpe, Whitewater Rafting Adventures, Hickory Run State Park, Lehigh Gorge State Park, Tuscarora State Park, and more. ***PLEASE READ BELOW AND READ EACH SITE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING*** - Our tent sites are rustic with NO electric or running water. Cabins have electric, but no indoor plumbing. Porta-Johns are available throughout the grounds. (Some sites are closer to port-a-johns than others.) We do not provide potable water or showers for tent campers but we allow responsible use of the stream for cleaning. Cabins have a rustic outdoor shower available May-October. Please inquire for camper vans and pop ups. - FIREWOOD: Due to the threat of invasive pests, we ask that you do not transport wood onto the grounds. We have firewood for sale for $7 per crate. You can pick and crate your wood at the wood pile on the grounds at your convenience. Please bring cash if possible or get in touch at the end of your stay to pay via Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle. -We have a variety of wildlife in the area, including BLACK BEARS. Please follow 'Leave No Trace' protocols and be mindful of trash and food throughout your stay. Keep your coolers in your vehicles and take garbage to the dumpster frequently. We have a dumpster available to you on the grounds. -Check in is contactless. From 1939-2020 our family ran a summer sleep-away camp for children on the farm, with an emphasis on caring for each other and the land. Located in a small valley at 1400 feet of elevation, our fields and woods are home to a broad diversity of native plants and animals. Our family has been caring for this land since 1926, but before European colonization it was home to the Lenape people from whom it was forcibly taken. Acknowledging this fact and working to expand awareness of Indigenous cultures and their rights is important to us. While at the farm, besides the amenities listed in each listing, you are welcome to hike or walk around and explore our farm which has many acres of woodland, creeks, springs, a pond, and open fields. A hot day is a great time for a walk along - or in - the creek. A rainy day brings out the Red Efts - beautiful orange newts that are all over the woods when you know where to look. We're always glad to point you in the right direction for a nice walk or a longer hike. You may be able to tag along collecting eggs from the hens or feeding some of the other animals we may have.

Joe's Hideaway is located on the 100+ acre French Woods Farm. The several acre “glamorous” camping compound sits at the end of a half mile private road. We love to host large groups. Plenty of space for cars and motorcycles. We offer 3 spacious all-season cabin tents, and a heated recreational cabin on the shore of a deep-water pond with a bonfire peninsula. Each tent is secured to a roofed, heavy timbered post and beam platform, has its own private camp fire pit and is privately situated away from the other tent platforms. One tent has a king bed, another a queen, and the third has queen bunk beds. The Adirondack sided recreation cabin with screened porch has a queen bed and twin bunks sleeping a total of 4. The site accommodates 12 for $390 a a 2 night minimum. We offer a 10% discount if you stay for 7 nights. Within walking distance, there is a heated double bath house with hot and cold running water, and each bathroom has a sink, shower, and conventional flush toilet. We provide mattresses with mattress covers and pillows. You bring sleeping bags, sheets, pillow cases, towels, and whatever you need for your comfort. Don't forget to pack your life jackets for pond and river activities. We do not provide boats or any other water apparatus, and recreation is at your own risk. The Delaware River and its East and West Branches are within 10 minutes of the site. Enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking or tubing. OARS (“Outdoor Adventure River Associates”) located a few miles away in Hancock offers affordable watercraft rentals and livery. Drive 15 minutes to farm markets, theaters, shopping, dining. Area watercraft rentals, live music , and village events are plentiful! It’s just a mile to French Woods Golf Course and Country Club, and there are a host of eateries in Hancock, Long Eddy and Callicoon. The quaint village of Hancock is a mere 7 miles away. 13 miles to charming Callicoon of the Delaware. The Delaware River and its East and West Branches are within 10 minutes from the site. Enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking or tubing. It’s just a mile to French Woods Golf Course and Country Club, and there are hosts of eateries in Hancock, Long Eddy and Callicoon. Visit the Callicoon Farmer's Market year-round on Sundays, 11-2pm at Callicoon Creek Park and stock up on fresh produce, fruits, breads, pastries, and cheeses. Visit the Museum at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Or play a round of golf at the French Woods Golf Course. Take a ride on The Upper Delaware Scenic Byway, which is Route 97, as it extends from Hancock to Port Jervis, and visit the Roebling Bridge and other historic places and museums along the way. Get ready for the most striking views of the Delaware River Valley from famous Jensen's Ledges. From 1939-2020 our family ran a summer sleep-away camp for children on the farm, with an emphasis on caring for each other and the land. Located in a small valley at 1400 feet of elevation, our fields and woods are home to a broad diversity of native plants and animals. Our family has been caring for this land since 1926, but before European colonization it was home to the Lenape people from whom it was forcibly taken. Acknowledging this fact and working to expand awareness of Indigenous cultures and their rights is important to us. While at the farm, besides the amenities listed in each listing, you are welcome to hike or walk around and explore our farm which has many acres of woodland, creeks, springs, a pond, and open fields. Joe's Hideaway is located on the 100+ acre French Woods Farm. The several acre “glamorous” camping compound sits at the end of a half mile private road. We love to host large groups. Plenty of space for cars and motorcycles. We offer 3 spacious all-season cabin tents, and a heated recreational cabin on the shore of a deep-water pond with a bonfire peninsula. Each tent is secured to a roofed, heavy timbered post and beam platform, has its own private camp fire pit and is privately situated away from the other tent platforms. One tent has a king bed, another a queen, and the third has queen bunk beds. The Adirondack sided recreation cabin with screened porch has a queen bed and twin bunks sleeping a total of 4. The site accommodates 12 for $390 a a 2 night minimum. We offer a 10% discount if you stay for 7 nights. Within walking distance, there is a heated double bath house with hot and cold running water, and each bathroom has a sink, shower, and conventional flush toilet. We provide mattresses with mattress covers and pillows. You bring sleeping bags, sheets, pillow cases, towels, and whatever you need for your comfort. I would recommend this place to all my friends! The cabin itself was perfect for a weekend getaway having all the essentials needed and some nice extras like the hot tub and sauna. The area was incredibly beautiful and close to a cute little town. Despite some travel issues, we were met with kindness and flexibility, which show how amazing they were at hosting! We also got some very good local recommendations :) we’ll definitely be back!

We had a perfect fall Sunday followed by a rainy Monday that somehow made the cabin even better. Warm, quiet, and easy to settle into. Jennifer was kind and responsive, and everything felt thoughtful without trying too hard. We found and brought an old CD player, a crate of our old scratched mix CDs, and ended up listening by the fire, laughing at what used to be our favorite songs and what stuck. Turns out, that’s about as good as it gets. Highly recommend bringing a few of your own instant time machine.

We’ve stayed here twice now with our dogs and had an absolute blast both times. We loved it so much that we came back within a month, and we’re already bummed we won’t get to return until next season. Every extra is worth it - the sauna is incredible, the hot tub with the TV is a huge hit, and adding the Nintendo Switch and projector makes for such a fun movie night on the porch. The food is all delicious and clearly made with care. You can tell a lot of thought went into every detail. There are fun little things to read and listen to, and it feels peaceful and private once the sun goes down. The big windows give you a perfect view of the stars at night and the sunrise in the morning. Shaggy really goes above and beyond. We’ve stayed in tons of places over the years, and this is easily one of our top three favorites. Don’t wait, book it and have a great time.

We loved our stay at the Hippie Haven for my birthday weekend getaway. Everything was explained prior to our arrival and set up when we arrived. Our hosts, Shaggy and Kendra, made themselves available throughout the trip, ensuring we had everything we needed for a peaceful weekend. We utilized the hot tub and projector - and both were left with easy to use instructions. Everything inside the haven was left for us to access with ease. The space they provided was clean, fresh, and cozy! Hippie Haven is the perfect, relaxing weekend away!

Everything at Hippie Haven was perfectly curated. Shaggy and Kendra have put a love of love and creativity into their land, and have the clear intention of giving you the utmost comfort, relaxation, and fun on your stay there. Their land is secluded and feels safe, and walking the property at night to visit different amenities (hot tub, sauna) was easy and carefree. The cabin itself was C L E A N and well taken care of. Every detail was looked after, down to clean robes, fresh linens and towels, and even the drink and cookware provided was immaculate and organized. We wanted for absolutely nothing as Shaggy had set everything we needed in place prior to our arrival, and he still was highly communicative and insistent we could reach out for absolutely anything. We opted for the hot tub, sauna, polaroid camera, and firewood add-on. Everything we added made the stay even more magical. My partner and I agreed it was the best air bnb/hipcamp/hotel either of us have EVER stayed in. We’re huge hippies ourselves and it was great to stay in a place that offered a carefree getaway that was also eco conscious, and decorated with care. We enjoyed a fire on the patio each night while listening to just a few of the records Shaggy has to offer - including rolling stones, led zeppelin, neil young, and more. They’re close to a few shops and restaurants as well, but they provide all the tools needed to make a few meals while you’re there. We love Hippie Haven and can’t wait to come back!!

What an amazing experience! Shaggy's Cosmic Cabin is filled with wonderful decor and surprises at every turn. All the amenities you could need are provided and usually with a fun and colorful twist, from tie dye towels and wash cloths to fun shaped dishes, coffee mugs and silverware . There were comfortable robes, to fit all sizes, which makes the tiny walk to the blissful hot tub no issue at all. The make-your-own waffles are both delicious and adorable, with fabulous homemade toppings to cover every possible taste bud craving. My husband and I had a blast browsing the extensive record collection and playing some of our favs while making our dinner or while chilling on the deck in the morning sunshine, while drinking the delicious coffee and tea selections provided, of course! I highly recommend you splurge on the projector rental, as the screen was easy to set up and the projector was simple to use, outside or even inside on the ceiling! Shaggy himself is total sweetie, he explained everything clearly, had fabulous dining and local attraction recommendations, (the Woodstock museum at Bethel Woods was incredible!) and was happy to share his doggie, Taj, with us whenever we needed a soft and sweet canine companion. I highly recommend this Cosmic Cabin! And don't let the composting toilet scare you, it is totally easy to use and the little "nitelights" inside are adorable, lol. Shaggy and Kendra have totally perfected the "glamping" experience!

Heather’s glamping Yurt was perfect! The privacy was beyond amazing and the property was absolutely beautiful!! Heather was very responsive and available for any questions or needs that came up, although the site was so thoughtfully set up, we didn’t even find a need to ask for anything!! We loved discovering the rock wall behind our site and the sunset from that space was really neat. We utilised the farm store on the property for our morning eggs, they were fantastic!! Nothing like farm fresh eggs to start the day off right. We didn't get any milk or meat that was also available there but it was nice to know if we had wanted some, we wouldn’t have to go far to get it! The private heated shower and the flushable toilet will persuade any non-camping enthusiast to come out and discover how wonderful this experience is!! Fire wood is readily available just a hop, skip down from Site 2, where we stayed. Only one lil hop from site 1! I would highly recommend this Yurt camping experience to anyone!!!!!!!

We did a special girls trip for my friend’s birthday who recently lost her husband. We absolutely loved everything about staying at Hippie Haven! From movie night outside, the campfire, trampoline, hammocks, nature walk, hot tub, barbecuing and making s’mores, we enjoyed it all! We had so much fun! Cooking outside was also easy and convenient and the bathroom and shower were so clean! It was such a relaxing, tranquil, fun experience and we were able to make wonderful memories there. I definitely recommend this stay and give it 5 stars! Shaggy, you’re the best and thank you and Kendra for your kindness and hospitality! What a dreamy place to stay! Kristin and her entire family was so warm and inviting. It was a lot of fun to see what goes into running a family farm. The syrup is delicious! I will definately make it a point to return with the whole family.

Weekend Trip to Dude, Girl! Ranch.
Very unique spot. Truly rustic feel without missing any amenities. Jennifer even made us a nice cup of coffee in the morning. Beautiful surroundings and close to Jim Thorpe, the lake & mahoning drive-thru theater. A+ for romantic getaway

Weekend Trip to Journey's End Farm
We had a great time here! We felt like we were at summer camp. Kristin was a fantastic host and so were all the farm animals! Beautiful and peaceful property with lots of areas to explore and animals to greet. Bathrooms were clean and it was nice to have a hot shower after hikes. The grate over the fire pit was especially helpful for cooking. Amazing time, would definitely stay again!
