Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek stream is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. The land is mostly flat for walking to camping area. Fire rings are included. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. If you have your own portapotty, you must take the waste with you. We have no way to dispose of human waste. Absolutely no disposing of human waste on the property or in the trash. There will be a fine. At this time, I do not have fresh water, shower or electric. I have an extension cord for charging phones, etc...
We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. Racoons will steal food that is not put away or in coolers. Deer may walk past in the middle of the night. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are!
As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future.

We are an active dairy farm in the rolling hills of Berks County, Pennsylvania. We take awesome sunrises and great star gazing for granted around here! Campsites are a 10-minute walk from the farm where all are welcome to interact with the animals or take a try at milking a cow. After all, you need milk and cream for breakfast!Its a ten minute drive to Blue Marsh Lake for Fishing, Biking, Hiking and Swimming. Welcome to our perfect outdoor haven, a beautiful 150 acre farm, providing an extraordinary escape from the hustle and bustle of our modern world. Two of our exclusive campsites are located on the banks of the Little Schuylkill River, with the world-renowned Hawk Mountain Sanctuary boarding on the other side of the river. The third site, has an open view of Hawk Mountain and the farm, to say nothing of the full sky view.. Our private, exclusive campsites, easily encompassing about 5 acres at each site and surrounded by the 150 acre farm, are designed to take advantage of the natural surroundings. Here you will find yourself off grid and alone with nature. Imagine yourself pitching your tent along the river or on the hill top, viewing countless birds of prey and all types of wildlife with no other folks around, except for your people.
The location could not be better or more private. Our family for years have camped and played at these site, enjoying the river and night sounds. We are a working Christmas Tree farm as well. Truly private camping, not a commercial camp ground. Very few camping sites exist where you can just have your own space, but you may have it here. My family are stewards to this wonderful farm, and are thrilled to share it with you. We want you to chill and to find tranquility, to respect our sites and make memories that are treasured.

Because we are a tree farm, we cannot allow you to bring wood from other locations on to the farm. Wood is for sale here and we request a pre order so we can have it ready at your site. You may purchase through Hipcamp or directly from us.
All sites have a picnic table, a Hawk Shadow Out House, water to wash things, a preparation table and a good bundle of kindling to start off your camping experience. There Is a shovel, cooking grates, log benches and a neat campfire ring. Potable water is available at the farm and you may refill when needed.
Campsite #1 (Lean To Site)
This site is along the river. It is private and lovely.
You may park your car above the site and walk down to the river and camping area. Short, 50 yards, but a steepish walk. Pack in and out accordingly.
Very private, lots of space. It is perfect.
Campsite #2 (Dog Gone Site)
This site is also along the river.
It is private and has the same set up as site one.
Park your car on top of hill and walk on down. It is a lovely spot. Walk is about 50 yards down a steep hill. Pack accordingly.
Campsite #3 (High Site)
Site 3 is above the river and looks over Hawk Mountain and the farm.
It is private with beautiful views. Unreal full moon gazing.............
Sunrise, Sunset, Moon rise, Bird watching, all very visible from this site.
Car accessible, no walking to campsite required.
At all sites, different seasons bring different activities. Spring: Kayaking, fishing and hiking. Summer: hiking, fishing in the pond, cooling off in the swim hole. Fall: raptor watching, hiking, biking plus fishing, (license required), in the Little Schuylkill. The nights are dark with star lit skies.
We have a 1.5 acre bass pond on the farm for fishing, so bring your rod. Big bass in there!!
Your camp site is surrounded by woods and forest, fields and trees.
You are a two hour drive from center city Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from down town New York City. One hour from Harrisburg.

Yes, you can drive to the area of the campsite, but no, you cannot drive down actual site at campsite #1 and #2. Parking at site 3, no walk required..

Elmlock was named by MJ's Grandfather for the majestic Elm trees that once graced the property and banks of the Tulpehocken Stream passing through the Union Canal lock. These beautiful trees were devastated by the Dutch Elm Disease in the early 20th century.
Elmlock and the surrounding area was surveyed by non other than George Washington as plans were formulating to build a canal system to join the Schuylkill and Susquehanna Rivers.
The General stayed with his friend Captain Michael Lei on the adjacent farm, once known as the Tulpehocken Manor when visiting the area. The ruins of one of the canal locks remains on the Elmlock property adjacent to the camping area.
The 1838 stone farmhouse was built by the Spengler family and acquired by MJ's Grandfather in 1913. MJ's pottery studio is a local "Town Barn" that was relocated piece by piece to Elmlock by MJ"s brother, a Historic Restoration Specialist, in 1974. He also restored the Bake Oven on the property's Summer Kitchen.
Our property features an historic canal lock from 1828 Union Canal and a stream that runs through it.
There is a RR track that runs just south of our camp about 10acres away For campers who love to watch or hear trains you'll have plenty of opportunity to do so!
You can enjoy fishing and playing in the water, which is fresh, clean limestone water from a nearby quarry. We also have two small goats on the property. Farm land surrounds the property, wooded area and cattle nearby. This is a secluded property but less than a mile from Rt 422. You can bike along the many back roads nearby!
We also offer pottery classes, drawing classes, painting classes, and also Medicinal wild plants walk etc. for an additional fee. See our extras below if you are interested!
Historic places to visit and only 20 miles from HersheyPark. Also we are only 15-20 min from the Historic Appalachian Trail! And Blue Marsh Recreational park

This site was awesome! Gorgeous canal with rushing water, nice firepits, and she even allowed us to jump on her trampoline! the cows are adorable and it was altogether an amazing experience. It is someone near a main road and the railroad but that did not bother us, it still felt very private.

This site is wonderful, we’re already planning our next visit. The site sits at the end of a long, gated driveway past David’s home. It was secluded, with an open, fenced field for our toddler to run freely in. The toilet was clean and stocked with toilet paper and the site sat on mulch, which helped for a smooth sleeping surface. There’s also cold, clean well water available closer to David’s garage. You’ll hear their shop running, but it wasn’t disruptive. David and his family were very kind and accommodating.

Hardscrabble Hill was exactly what we were looking for peaceful, quiet, clean, serene, exceptional view, hiking trails, and off leash for our dogs. The true full hookup spot was level and pull thru. It was perfect and we’ve already booked another trip. Our host David was quick to respond to our request for firewood as well. One sidenote, you are on top of a hill so it was breezy and a little windy. Take precautions if you’re going to put your awning out.

We absolutely loved camping here! Susan and Jen were very helpful and welcoming. Check in was super easy and flawless. Fortunately, we had the entire property to ourselves. But even if we didn’t the sites were far from each other and super private. This place is a hidden gem and I highly recommend it.

We loved camping at Rob and Michelle’s site for the night. We had our camper van and pup in tow. The campsite was super clean, quiet and surrounded by trees. I set my hammock up and we made dinner on the fire. The outhouse was really nice, clean and lit by solar lights at night. We hope to come again!

We had an amazing time at Tom’s site!! He was super helpful upon arrival and even gave us a couple fresh eggs from his coop which made for an awesome breakfast! Would definitely camp here again :)

12 ft truck camper
Camping on M.J.'s land was an incredible, immersive nature experience. We were able to fish for trout, cook over an open fire with provided firewood, and enjoy the tour of existing medicinal plants and their purposes. Blue heron, eagle and a large variety of other birds accentuated the view. M.J. was an exceptional host providing a warm welcome that included a short history lesson of the canal lock. Hot coffee was hand-delivered in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This site has an amazing view, especially if you go during the time of the year where the trees aren't fully leafed out. At night, it's really neat to relax at camp with a bit of a city skyline feel from all the lights out there. You're close to a main road, so you hear some cars, but it's a unique camping experience from the norm and worth a stay. The other campsite isn't super close, so it felt private. Porty potty was very clean. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

Nice quite spot with a creek that our 6 year old and the whole family loved! Host was awesome and helped us get our stuff to the site. Good spot for the dogs as well they loved having access to the creek when they wanted it. Plenty of stores/restaurants near by incase you forget something. 10/10! We stayed at site #10 Plenty of level ground for your tent. Would recommend👍
