3 nights at Spyglass Ridge Winery

Thomas was extremely accommodating as it was sooo hot. We had electric, water and sewage. I believe most people boondock, but thankfully we didn’t have to. The restaurant and winery was fantastic.

Shelterwood is our favorite probably at Susan's farm. In the trees, up on the second of 3 levels. You need to try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Weekend Trip to River Mountain Outdoors

What a cute setup. Stayed in one of the tiny cabins, equipped with a mini fridge, tea kettle, fan, and mugs. The bed was very comfortable and I slept great! My finance and I walked along the trail that goes over the mountain along the stream. Nice scenery and dipped our feet in. The campground has 2 clean bathrooms and a shower, the water was cold but fine for a summer day and they even had soap and towels like a hotel :) we had a great time. Very refreshing.

The Aspens is a very special place. It is a groove of trees within gorgeous fields on an idyllic farm. There is a babbling brook at the campsite and you can put your feet in and enjoy the sound throughout your stay. There are also beautiful cows and chickens with an attitude that provide farm ambience. We loved our time here and there was a delicious breeze each afternoon.

I camped at the Aspen site. It was very nice next to the small Creek. Lots of space and privacy. It was away from the main farm and surrounded by beautiful fields. The farm reminded me of many that I worked at as a kid.

We got to fall asleep at this campsite to the sound of rushing water next to the creek. No issues with a washout or accessing the campsite. We were in a roof top tent, and had a little trouble getting leveled out, but there’s a good spot with mulch for a ground tent and a fire pit amongst the trees if you cross the footbridge across the creek, only about 10 feet from where you can park. It’s a little muddy, but it was raining all night, so that’s to be expected. Plan accordingly. We were just looking for a place to sleep, so unfortunately we didn’t get to check out the amenities, but the host came out and said hi and was very nice. Oh! And the fireflies were incredible!

My dog and I loved camping at Susan’s place! It was gorgeous to wake up the sounds of the horses grazing in the field and be completely surrounded by nature. Susan greeted us when we got there and made sure we found our site okay and even helped me setup a bit. It rained the full weekend but we didn’t let that get us down. It was a short and easy drive to Ricketts Glen. There were plenty of trails even at camp though if you want to hike those. Even with the rain, the mosquitoes were not horrible. Susan provided a full container of potable water which was a godsend, and a full stack of wood. I will definitely be back!

Amazing, clean, quiet and beautiful. Couldn’t have asked for a better camping weekend. Host was very responsive. Thank you so much Alicia! Hope to come in the fall when the leaves change !

Amazing quiet place to stop for a beer, wine and dinner for the night. Lots of rain does make the grass very soggy, so be careful where you park.

Camping Site 3 at Spyglass Winery was beautiful, perfect for our teardrop trailer. If your are tent a camper or a small rv this site is for you. The view is beautiful.

Directions to the camp site were easy to follow and it was clearly labeled which I appreciated. The spot itself was really lovely on the farm and it was relaxing listening to the creek. Overall it was a nice space to stay. Bring bug and tick spray though!

3 nights at Lake Front Campsite !!!

We have fallen in love with this dreamy retreat. The spot is just right for our dogs and us! Very friendly local. A great local market not far away. The waterfall, wildlife, pond are all that we wanted and more. We felt our stress melt away and can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful venue! This is our second stay here and we will stay again. We were able to enjoy the food and wine this trip and we were not disappointed! Everyone was friendly and helpful, easy hookup, food and wine were fantastic. The view alone is worth the stop.

My kids and I had such an amazing time! It was a perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year and the start of summer. The kids loved wading into the creek. Doug was very generous with the firewood we ordered, which kept the campsite cozy throughout the evening. We were all really impressed with the bathroom and shower (a real luxury!) which was well stocked and clean. It was removed enough from the campsite so that we felt 'in the woods' but knew it was just a short walk away. Note that there is another site on the small island that, if occupied, would necessitate walking near each other to get to the facilities. We picked a day in the week with no other campers so we had the entire area to ourselves! Thank you for an amazing start to summer!

The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes. The Season House, one of the two foreman homes, features additional guest accommodations while Doug resides in the other foreman house. Visit and experience a piece of PA history!
