The canvas tent sleeps 4 but feel free to pitch another tent (or rent one of ours) for additional sleeping space. Sarah and Stein * Camp Blackbird is a 28 acre property that runs along Beltzville State Park in Carbon County, PA. So besides the camp, there is an additional 3,002-acres of state park to explore. There are a total of 2 sites. The land was vacant for decades and unfortunately used to dump household garbage during that time. We cleaned up the land, built a home and bat habitat. We, Sarah and Stein, always disliked renting a camp site somewhere and then ending up on top of people. So it was our goal to make space on our land for campers like us that want to be surrounded by nature, not other camp sites. A portion of the proceeds from your stay will be donated to bat habitat conservation and bat sanctuaries around the world. We are grateful for the hundreds of campers that have stayed with us. Thank you to all of you that have left a clean site and not made unnecessary noise that would disturb the countless species that share the forest with us. Also, Thank You for patronizing local businesses while you are here. We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake. There are miles of hiking trails a few minutes walk from your campsite. Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling. The boat launch is just a few minutes drive from Camp. In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive. The property is not suitable for parties or events. The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding. The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible. VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party. We welcome pets. Please add your photos! Especially of your dog camping! Check out the 300+ photos past campers have added. So many of them are dogs camping it up. We, the hosts, live on the property about 700 ft from the campsite. We try to have minimal interactions with the guests to ensure privacy and personal space but we're always reachable.

We had a fabulous time. The kids found salamanders and all kinds of bugs! The woods and creek are a wonderland. We had rain one night, so instead enjoyed a delicious dinner at Cactus Grill to kill time. The set- up is perfect and secluded. We will be back!

This is a nice spacious site, the creek is a nice feature. Scott provided ample firewood. The shooting range while not close by can be heard. If you are camping with dogs that are afraid of fireworks, this is not a good site. Both my dogs are seasoned campers but we usually camp to get away from the fireworks🙂. The outhouse was further away than we anticipated, wasn’t an issue for us but something to keep in mind.

Nice large, open and private spot by a river. We took a swim in the river after a hike up the hill next to camp to the coffee and chocolate shop. The property itself is pretty and pleasant to walk around. You can also walk to Tanner Falls down the road. It's mostly a walk on a dirt road more than a hike, but pleasant and a nice site to stop and see. The site was well kept, with a clean out house a few minutes walk across the road. Host was very kind and helpful. On arrival he showed us his garden (where we were given permission to pull a few veggies from) and took us to the local trail. The site is by a road, so you can hear some cars every so often but it's not super busy. There's also state game lands nearby, we heard a few gun shots late at night but they were definitely a far off away. I would happily come back to camp again!

Camp Nox was amazing! We had such a nice stay here, the campsite is clean, lots of shady area for when it’s too hot, and having a sink is such a plus. We went to the creek which is only a few minutes walk from the tent, the dogs loved it there. We’d love to visit again.

We love finding farms to HipCamp on and this one did not disappoint. The host were very welcoming. They met us when we got there to see if there was anything we needed. We were able to hook right up and enjoy the space. It was lovely to see the horse right next to us as well as the goats a few feet away. They also allowed our dog so that was a plus! Quiet farm stay that we very much enjoyed.

Brendan’s property is beautiful and private yet close to everything. The sunset was gorgeous! Driving with our 21’ trailer was easy off the main highway. We loved our stay. Brendan was an awesome host and brought us firewood and a fire pit. I totally recommend this site for relaxation and privacy.

The site was really sweet with a trail that led to the river and lots of wine berries that were perfectly ripe! The tent kept us cozy through a thunderstorm, and we had a really wonderful stay. Sarah was very attentive to all of our needs and very responsive. We would definitely come back!

We had an amazing weekend at the Streamside Campsite—think sheep in the pasture, a babbling creek, and total peace. The kids splashed in the water, we lounged by the fire, and everyone drifted off to sleep to the sound of the stream. Highly recommend if you like nature with a side of sheep. 🐑🔥🌲

This is our second time back to Camp Nox and we plan to keep coming back! It's so nice to be able to drive up, have the tent all ready (with some lovely snacks!), a place to make a quick fire, and a great outdoor kitchen setup. A great place for a getaway from Philly.
