Gordon Glen Woods is nestled in the picturesque Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania and is an eight-acre wooded land adjacent to 8,200 acres of state game land and is 1.5 miles from two trailheads of the Ghost Town Trail, Pennsylvania’s trail of the year 2020. We are located in beautiful Clearfield county Pennysalvina. Our farm is on over 150 acres. It’s has been in the family for generations. It has beautiful farm views with wooded areas. There is lots of wildlife to see. Including bear, bobcat, deer, eagles, fishers, and many other species. We have lots of hiking trails and our property also boarders state game lands. It’s a short drive to the Susquehanna River and other parks. You can also enjoy the cows, goats, peacocks, chickens, ducks, and turkeys at the farm. Contact the host and set up a time to visit and feed the animals. Learn more about our family farm and the animals. We also have a sawmill and wood shop. Nearby is Bilgers Rocks, Rock Run Atv Park, Prince Gallitzin State Park, the Susquehanna River, and many other fantastic outdoor activities. It’s a place to unwind and relax. And connect with nature. This is in a very rural part of Pennsylvania and camping in the winter weather can be difficult. So please prepare yourself with additional sleeping bags for winter. The tent is heated but because of the unpredictable and sometimes dangerous weather you need to be prepared. The bathroom is also outdoors so there will not be a shower provided till after the freezing weather. And the loo is not heated. It is also recommended that you have all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive to get to the campsite in the winter. It is possible to walk from road to site. But you should consider this when booking. RTR is a very beautiful place in the winter but it can also be dangerous if you’re not prepared.

Our property was once an overgrown field that in the past was strip mined for coal. This area was purchased by a local church congregation and has been transformed into a fun, peaceful picnic/recreation area. We enjoy using this area for picnics, birthday/graduation parties, family reunions and other fun, meaningful events. We have even had a few weddings here. Recently we decided that we want to give more people the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful, serene area. We hope you choose to come and relax and enjoy a "Slice of Solitude"

A walking trail, running water, electricity (we do now have two 30 amp outlets), a fire pit, and a few other options. A nice quiet area. In 2024 we add a very nice shower house/restroom which is closed during the winter season. Most likely November through April.

Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer.
We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities.
Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups.
On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards.
For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent.
Campers must be less than 25 feet.
Generators are not allowed.
Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm.
There are no water hookups.
Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons.
Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350.
Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them.
Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance.
We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

The rich history of Burnhead Grazings is enveloped in a love for God's creation. Dr. Gib and Emmy Lou McLaughlin purchased Burnhead, which is Gaelic for the head of the stream, from William H. Stevens. The once pasture for Hilltop Dairy's cows became a pasture for sheep. Gib and Emmy had been in search of land for years after getting their first border collie and falling in love with the Shepherd lifestyle. Gib trained dozens of border collies to work the sheep and did hundreds of demonstrations highlighting the herding abilities of the collie across the country. Their love for Scotland and the border collie took them Scotland on many occasions.
Burnhead Grazings is a snapshot of Scotland, "in bye" or close to, the beautiful college town of Indiana, PA. Less than two miles from two hotels, three miles from downtown, and within minutes from Amish country, it is amazing that this respite still exists so close to civilization.
Gib and Emmy's daughter, Moire McLaughlin Bridges and her husband Randy have endeavored to bring the sheep back to Burnhead Grazings and to continue the family tradition as well as to share in the experience. You can listen to an interview on The Christian Witness Program on this page for some history about Moire and Randy in Tennessee where they were residing before coming to Indiana.
They are producing lamb, wool for spinning and felting, and hay and are opening up the farm for small events such as weddings or family reunions. Moire is also the author and illustrator of a children's book available for sale on iBooks called Sissy & The King. In November of 2014, with the help of Hilltop Baptist Church and many others, they began hosting an event, LIFE Nativity, the weekend before Thanksgiving, which benefits Life-Way Pregnancy Center.
Moire is also a fine artist and gives classes on wool felting. Ask about signing up for a class or book a private felting party.

We stayed at the Woodside site, it was at a good location for what we wanted to do (ride the Ghost Town Trail). It was very quiet and peaceful, hosts were friendly. The weather wasn't very cooperative (cold and periodic sleet in May!). Very pleasant experience.

Robert is a great host. He knows the perfect balance of checking on his guests and giving privacy. The spot was exactly as described and in a convenient location to bike the Ghost Town Trail.
If you like dive bars I highly recommend going to the Grove for dinner.

All-around, this is a beautiful campground!🏕️ Yes, it is next to the highway and fire department, so if you want quiet, it may not be for you; Otherwise, it was totally worth the trip! There is cell service and it is a close enough to walk to essentials in either direction. Very clean bathroom/shower facilities.

I enjoyed the Twisted Oak site. The view was so serene. I couldn't stop looking at it! Very quiet place, clean, beautiful and a touch of whimsy. Perfect for families and also fun for group and solo camping. Several cool spots and trails on the grounds. Bathroom is heated and clean. I see myself returning again in the future. The directions were clear and the host was very friendly.

The view from this site was astonishing. We had a really nice picnic table and the best fire ring I've ever had at a campsite. The site was huge and the trails were a lot of fun to hike. There was a little water issue when we got there ands it was repaired immediately. I can't recommend this one enough!

My grandson, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paradise at the Pond. This large camping area has wonderful vista’s of the farmland as well as the mountains behind. The owners keep firewood stocked and the grounds is well manicured grass. It’s a great place to relax and is just 15 minutes to Raystown Lake where we keep a boat. We’ve reserved 6 visits this summer and fall—just love the setup.

Wilson’s Boondocks Hollow was a perfect site for my needs—and Mike is a fantastic host. Beautiful tent site overlooking rolling hills, a warm shower and bathroom, and a picnic table were the highlights. Mike was accommodating and helped me navigate around town. Highly recommend!

We camped in our tear drop on site 3, all sites would be great for tenting, small Rv or tear drop. It was quiet and the sites are huge! Lots of room for dogs and kids to play.
We had our 2 dogs with us and our hosts left them each a toy! They loved them!

The site is close to the road, but also close to the restrooms which have showers and sinks. Site also close to the rec room with a ping pong and a pool table. This came in handy the evening it rained. The facilities were just back over a little bridge. Our group actually used four sites that came together as one and held the tents, pop-up shelters, vehicles and equipment trailer. It was our second stay in two years and both times it worked out great! Very close to museums, fishing streams, and both the Horseshoe and Altoona Curve.

Masons’ land was 12/10. Seriously. The view is incredible, the sun sets right over the mountain you’re staring at in the photos. There is always a nice breeze it seems. Just beautiful setting. It is also quiet. Down below where your staying there is a road where will hear some traffic but it doesn’t bother you really.
The accommodations are great. Mason has some firewood for us, there are string lights in the trees and your own private porta potty is a nice touch. The water and electric is awesome for the site. And the water out of the spigot is delicious well water. Reminds me of growing up.
I’m sure I could keep going on and on. Oh also the camp shower and bathroom is awesome have and a short walk! Mason greeted us and is a very nice host. We will stay here again.
