Craig is the prefect host. If you’re looking for paddling fun this is the place to visit. Craig offers a ride either up or down stream. We even recommend his place for river tubes because he has a lazy river right off this property. We love water adventures and our dog loved being off leash the entire time. The outdoor kitchen is amazing. We highly recommend this place and will be back very soon.

1 night at River Mountain Outdoors

What a unique place ! Loved the rustic tiny house ! Quiet , private and peaceful. The bathroom was clean and well equipped. Lost power because of a crazy storm but was still good ! Would book the other tiny house or the rustic again . Got in the creek felt really good . You need water shoes :)

2 nights at Fairview Farms Airfield

It was awesome, I was originally worried it was too close to a house but no, it was in a grassy knoll, the tree gave shade and the hammock by the water was an awesome place to read a book.the tree house held the three of us like champs. We took the liberty of ordering some add one like the unlimited package so I could have no worries on supplies and we rented a kayak and John boat. Bill was awesome because we brought the wrong vehicle to take them to the lake so he let us slide him a measly 25.00 bucks n he delivered them and picked them up so we could still enjoy the water..im excited to hear they are open year around so we will be back for some winter camping

We absolutely loved it here! The fireflies, the trails, the berry bushes growing in abundance, the exceptionally kind, helpful and hardworking owners, the cozy cabin, the privacy and space! Everything was perfect and the kids and the dogs were so happy! We had an amazing time and it was such a sweet escape from the city we live in. ❤️

Weekend Trip to Fairview Farms Airfield

I loved the cabin on Bill and Erin’s land. The cabin we were staying at was a very scenic place. Good maintenance and the property also had various facilities provided such as clean restrooms, firewood etc. The directions were clear and simple. Centrally located to nearby city’s grocery store and other businesses! Definitely would like to come back!!

Weekend Trip to River Mountain Outdoors

What a cute setup. Stayed in one of the tiny cabins, equipped with a mini fridge, tea kettle, fan, and mugs. The bed was very comfortable and I slept great! My finance and I walked along the trail that goes over the mountain along the stream. Nice scenery and dipped our feet in. The campground has 2 clean bathrooms and a shower, the water was cold but fine for a summer day and they even had soap and towels like a hotel :) we had a great time. Very refreshing.

Weekend Trip to Fairview Farms Airfield

We had a great time here!! Hosts were onsite and communicative, they were very happy to help with advice on nearby hiking at the state park and gave us a tour of the grounds. Would recommend grabbing some fresh eggs at some point as an add-on, we cooked up some breakfast with them in the morning which was delicious! Much thanks to Bill and Erin.

My guests and I absolutely adored our cabin. It’s the perfect size for a few people whilst not feeling cluttered. The hot tub was amazing and we had a great fire as well. Rain took over one of our days so we didn’t get to explore as much as we would have liked. Maria at the front office was an absolute gem and made our trip so much easier to navigate. We loved the tree house! It was so cozy. The hosts were very easy to get a hold of for questions and after coming in from wet tents the night before, had the treehouse warmed up nicely for us. The property is beautiful and quiet. Great diner right down the road. Thank you for such a nice stay.

Craig, the host, was incredible. As others have said, he’s truly the consummate host. He greeted us warmly on day one, then gave us all the privacy we needed while still being super attentive—setting up fires when we asked and even swapping out our dishes and flatware so we could enjoy fresh meals. He was thoughtful, generous, and made the place feel really safe and welcoming. If you have a dog reactive dog like we do, this is the place to be! We loved how spacious the property was. There was plenty of room for our pup Disco to run freely off-leash, which was such a joy to watch. It made the whole experience feel even more special. It rained most of the time we stayed (which was of course out of everybody’s control), and Craig was worried we wouldn’t have a good time and was even willing to work with us to reschedule. We needed up staying and are so happy we did. This spot is close to a couple great little towns with good thrifting, food and dessert! We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Conewago Glamp and Paddle

This Hipcamp is a literal slice of heaven! It’s very cozily nestled between a hillside and a creek with a huge yard for dogs - or littles - to run around. The lodgings are very comfortable, clean, and superbly maintained (bedroom, bathroom, outdoor kitchen and shower). The amenities are plentiful! Our favs were the campfire ring, horseshoe lawn game, outdoor pizza oven, wifi, AND fact that our goodest boi could enjoy the property off leash. It was a bit too cold for river hanging or paddling during our stay, but the creek access was simple. The host, Craig, was kind, friendly, anticipated our every need. He was unobtrusive and good at reading his audience (we’re social and really enjoyed chatting with him to learn more about his gorgeous land and many talents!). You will love your stay here. We can’t wait to go back!

It had all the amenities we needed to sleep/cook/relax comfortably while being completely private and peaceful. Our pups loved being able to run around off leash all weekend long and taking a swim in the pond. None of us wanted to leave and we will definitely try to come back in future ❤️

The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Note that we are always working to improve our slice of heaven, thus we do have tools, vehicles, and equipment stored around the farm that if not used now will be one day. We appreciate your understanding that some areas are used for our personal / farm storage. If you're not into looking at our farmware, there are a few nearby campgrounds. The hot tub is located next to the owner's home. Guests are welcome to use this at any time but must reserve and pay for a time slot. * Book this through the Extras * We are within walking distance of Swatara State Park and close to the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to the local winery, bowling alley, pub/diner, and movie theater. Grocery stores and gas are also nearby. Miles of hiking, rail trail, single-track mountain biking, and kayaking are all right here! See our kayak and bike rentals under extras! Hershey Park is approximately a 30-minute drive from our location. Rausch Creek, Anthracite, and Reading off-road areas are also nearby. Note: Monthly rental discounts are available. River Mountain Outdoors

The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes. The Season House, one of the two foreman homes, features additional guest accommodations while Doug resides in the other foreman house. Visit and experience a piece of PA history! Conewago Glamp and Paddle

Enjoy 8 beautiful, secluded acres on the Conewago Creek at Bald Hill, Northern York Co. My homestead was once part of the Conewago Turf Farm. It borders the creek a length of 1100 feet, mostly maintained with easy access. Camp is at the base of a steep section of the Conewago Mountains, creating privacy and protection from wind and afternoon sun. This is not a whole house rental. I have a one bedroom, queen size bed, kitchenette, private restroom and outdoor shower with on demand hot water. There's plenty of room for tent or van camping. Please see pictures for detail. I live in the house above the glamping quarters. Plenty of good fishing and paddling here. I offer shuttle service for 1 or 2 day float trips, paddle in one day, paddle out the next day. Canoes, kayaks, paddles and PFD's are included in the price of your stay. The Conewago is very beginner paddling but remote, very clean and full of wildlife. Gifford Pinchot State Park is 7 miles away. I have two paddle boards if you want to paddle the 3 mile lake. This adventure would require a short hike out to a parking area. Relax in a wood fired Norwegian sauna and cook in a Peruvian wood fired earth oven or cook under the stars over an open fire. Firewood is also included. Foodies will rejoice here. I live and work here, part time blacksmith and wood worker. I'll assist you in any way or do my best to stay out of your way. Wildlife love it here, I think you will too.

Gorgeous Water Overlook

The White Squirrel Properties include a cabin, rental pavilion and camp site. The camp site sits at the top of a hill and provides a secluded flat site to pitch your tent or park your van/truck camper/truck top tent. You will have this space to yourself. The view is breathtaking - you have a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River, numerous sets of mountain ranges, and you are surrounded by beautiful fields. There is a rustic picnic table and a more modern high top table set with an umbrella, for your use. We have also added 4 hammock chairs that you can relax in while enjoying a glass of wine. There is a wooden platform with a small structure on it. You can stand underneath the platform and it can provide some shelter, if needed. (The structure is being renovated for a new experience next summer.) Little Mahanoy Creek Campground

There are 3 campsites located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

Welcome to Aberdeen Mills-a 40 acre farm and grist mill! Make some memories at this unique and beautiful place! You will be staying in the Shepherd's Hut on the creek. We cater to couples in this setting. The Hut consists of one room with a Queen bed. We provide all bedding and towels. Enjoy sleeping in our enchanted forest designed shepherds hut. Keep the windows open to listen to the sounds of the creek as it lulls you to sleep. Or, if you re too hot or cold, turn on the portable A/C & heating unit! You will have access to electricity to charge your devices, make coffee and turn on lights! There is no wifi out here, but you can use your own cellular data for internet needs. If you have a child, we can provide a futon, bedding and set of towels for an additional cost of $25. (Keep in mind that the Hut and surrounding area is not child proofed inside/out and open waterway is very close to the hut.) Please let us know as soon as possible so we can have the futon available for your stay. Glamping here is fantastic! You will have a private outdoor shower to use right next to the Hut. Hot water available seasonally. Please confirm with host as to hot water availability. Biodegradable body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap/dish soap is provided and we ask that you use the provided products to help us protect our natural surroundings - especially the creek. Please keep in mind that water provided to the shower and outdoor sink is not drinkable (not potable), however, we do provide water for drinking/cooking/brushing teeth that is from a 5 gallon bottle with pump dispenser. A separate toilet room is available right next to the hut as well. It is equipped with a bucket toilet which requires eco- bags and kitty litter (both provided). The full bags are then tied and disposed of in a larger outdoor trash can just outside. Use the fire pit just outside the hut for grilling or use the gas grill with burner that faces the creek. Basic kitchen supplies are provided (please refer to pictures for details). There is also a picnic bench facing the creek. Walk the trail through the property and enjoy the cool shade. Pack a picnic and enjoy eating on the moss covered boulders next to the water, play games in the yard, snooze in a hammock, meditate by the creek or take a swim in the swimming hole. Enjoy privacy while in the hut, or join us on our morning chores (we live in a house on the property), by feeding the animals and gathering fresh eggs. During the day, cross the bridge over the creek to get to the beautifully maintained Conewago Recreation Trail where you can walk or ride bikes. Our rural setting is a relaxing spot to stay after a day of seeing the sites or visiting Hershey Park just 15 minutes away. We are 10 minutes to the train station which will take you to all the surrounding major cities - DC, NY, Philly and others for a day trip too! Experience a bit of history while staying in the Shepherd's Hut. The houses, grist mill and bank barn were built with sandstone brought to the property by wagonloads in the 1770's. Just think! This homestead was built before the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Revolutionary War began! Stay in or explore the 40 acres of property consisting of woodlands, creek and farmland. The grist mill and other buildings require host to accompany guests in order to enter and we are happy to give you a tour!
