Our campsite isn’t far from town and amenities, but it feels private and peaceful, a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We’re just a stone’s throw from the Historic Columbia River Highway and the Sandy River—perfect for world-class fishing or lazy river days. Within just a few minutes’ drive you can access the “Waterfall Corridor” of the Columbia River Gorge, Vista House, Portland Women’s Forum Scenic Viewpoint, Multnomah Falls and Lodge, plus some of the best hiking trails in the world. We're conveniently located about 5 miles from McMenamins Edgefield if you need a place to camp after a concert.
This is a fantastic location to settle in and relax on our farm or use as a base camp for Columbia Gorge adventures. Our campite offers two large, level RV sites with electric and water hookups (no sewer—campers must be fully self-contained). Each site has a picnic table and is surrounded by tall, mature trees and bucolic views of neighboring farm fields.
Our farm features blueberries, pear, apple, and plum trees and lots of flowers! Wildlife includes deer, elk, owls, coyotes, raccoons, plenty of squirrels, and, if you’re lucky even bald eagles! Our dog Elsie is a loyal farm pup who helps keep deer and small predators away. Don’t worry she’s extremely friendly with people (especially children) and plays well with other well-behaved dogs.
Springtime is especially gorgeous here, with magnolias, dogwoods, rhododendrons, irises, lilies, peonies, dahlias, hydrangeas, and pollinator gardens all in bloom. In the fall, the foliage is stunning as big-leaf and Japanese maples turn golden, orange and fiery red.
The trees, flowers, and views are truly spectacular and we’re sure you’ll enjoy them as much as we do. There’s also plenty of open space to toss a frisbee, enjoy a picnic lunch, or wander through the gardens and canopied forest trails.

Tucked Away Retreat evolved from empty acreage to an easy retreat from the city and an opportunity to share our love of the rural life. Located in the Chapman area of Scappoose, this area is rich in logging history; the Crown Zellerbach trail is an old logging road and now an 18 mile hiking/biking "story board" of the life and culture of both the Native American Indians that lived in the area and the evolution of logging. Just over the peak of the CZ trail (which is approximately 3 miles from our property) is an old mine, just one example of many hidden areas to explore. Our retreat is just 45 minutes from Portland, yet feels a world away. You can relax in the quiet or explore the trail, the small towns that dot Highway 30 or head to the river. If you continue West on Highway 30, you will pass through many small logging towns, the old Trojan Nuclear site and eventually land in Astoria on the coast.

Tucked Away Retreat is quiet and peaceful yet 45 minutes from Portland.
Located on 4 private acres, watch the deer wander through the property or the hawks float overhead. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States.
Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park.
The B side is on gravel on the upper drive and is shaded most of the day. This site is best suited for camper vans, truck campers or small trailers due to trees along the back curve of the driveway. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit but you may need to back in.
The B side is backed by our private, small shop. It is adjacent to our tiny house, with a privacy fence separating the two areas. The site has water, power and septic hook ups. There is also WiFi, although it can be spotty inside your trailer.
The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Additional vehicles are an extra charge.
Please be aware that we are RV only, we have no outhouse, so we cannot accommodate tents or folks who want to sleep in their vehicle. We will consider an exception if you have a RV/trailer and kids who want to sleep in a tent. Please reach out to us prior to booking for this exception.
We do not allow "shower" tents.
Also please note that there is no cell service once you leave Highway 30; you have to have WiFi calling capabilities to use your cell phone.

Crooked Finger Farms has great history. The Farm and surrounding acreage was homesteaded in the late 1850’s-1860’s. You can still pick the fruit from the original heirloom apple and pear trees! The farmhouse, historic barn and outbuildings were built as a dairy in 1915.

We were lucky to find this spot after our reservation at a BLM site got cancelled on short notice, and it was a lovely substitute! The river is super close (and accessible if you're willing/able to scramble over some rocks), and the site felt very private, despite being relatively close to the other sites on the property. Also, the wheelbarrows for carting items to/from the campsite are such a thoughtful addition! Thanks for sharing your spot, Joshua!

Weekend Trip to Roshambo ArtFarm
This little cabin was a wonderful retreat! I loved how the cabin was tucked away with it's own little secluded vista. During my stay I was able to enjoy the ciders they offered while reading in the sun. The bed was comfortable and warm, and I loved having the windows open for the sounds and the breeze. Looking forward to coming back again sometime.

This is an amazing location. The owners have put a lot of time and energy into making this a destination worth seeking out. Compost toilet with a gorgeous view, outdoor showers and bathtub. An amazing sauna. This location has it all.

We had a great time camping for one night at Kim’s spot. Kind host, beautiful views, well kept up bathrooms, plus a spot to get a drink right on site if you want! We plan to go back in the future :)

Dave was very friendly, the property was clean, quiet, and in a good neighborhood. The other campers on the spacious property were friendly and welcoming as well. I highly recommend their little oasis!

We LOVED staying at Joshua’s spot! It was nice to get away and unwind. Everything was…just…easy. There were directions and instructions everywhere. You can tell that everything was well thought out. We stayed at Camp A and it was nice having immediate access to the river. Looking forward to coming back. We see why this place is rated Best of Hipcamp.

I enjoyed the fact that it felt safe with the fence around the property.
It isn't a quiet street and there are vehicles all hours.
While it isn't something they can control, they have neighbors who like to party into the night.
Having said that, if quiet isn't necessary for you, it is a fine place to sleep.

The space was absolutely lovely. Quiet and out of the way, it was like we were the only people on earth. Both mornings we were there a mother deer and her little fawn came to visit us. It was like a secret fairy tale.

Weekend Trip to HolisticLifeFarm Clatskanie OR
My stay at the farm was incredible! The little cabin was so lovely. Loved that it opened up so I could hangout on the deck all day and get cozy in the cabin at night. Would 100% recommend this spot! Especially to solo travelers.
