Solar heated, unfiltered spring water is available at the site itself & spigots for cold spring water are available at the corral &farmstand. While our family finds this spring water safe & refreshing to drink from tap, keep in mind, it is UNfiltered thus classified as non-potable water that needs to be purified before drinking.
This site offers a unique experience where you can take a closer look at farm life by encountering cows, pigs & free-range chickens. Feed them apples when available or even your left over food scraps! Don't forget to meet Petunia, our beloved free-range Kunekune pig. While shy at 1st, her affinity for snacks & belly rubs makes her favor easily earned.
Beyond the farm, you'll find yourself perfectly situated just 1.5 miles east of Catherine Creek Rec. Area. This prime location caters to a wide range of interests, from hiking &mountain biking to hunting & rock climbing at Coyote Wall. Your views will be of trees, mountains, the creek and waterfall. The cabin is far enough away from our home so you will have privacy and seclusion. It is a short but very uphill hike from the parking area. When you arrive, feel free to find your way up to the cabin. You may want to pack light as it is a bit of a hike! Linens and blankets will be provided for the King size bed.
This is a one of kind rustic experience. We provide all of the firewood needed for the cabin inside for the wood stove and outside for the fire pit.

Our camp features our Dreaming Tree site, an open one-acre field that sits alongside a quiet county road with minimal traffic. Big White Oaks provide a shady outdoor retreat with a view of Mt. Hood. This site is large enough to also accommodate large groups & gatherings.
While unlisted, an adjacent site "Hideout in the Hollow", can often be made available also per request.
Solar heated, unfiltered spring water is available at the site itself & spigots for cold spring water are available at the corral &farmstand. While our family finds this spring water safe & refreshing to drink from tap, keep in mind, it is UNfiltered thus classified as non-potable water that needs to be purified before drinking.
This site offers a unique experience where you can take a closer look at farm life by encountering cows, pigs & free-range chickens. Feed them apples when available or even your left over food scraps! Don't forget to meet Petunia, our beloved free-range Kunekune pig. While shy at 1st, her affinity for snacks & belly rubs makes her favor easily earned.
Beyond the farm, you'll find yourself perfectly situated just 1.5 miles east of Catherine Creek Rec. Area. This prime location caters to a wide range of interests, from hiking &mountain biking to hunting & rock climbing at Coyote Wall. Wine tasting at four neighborhood wineries (two within walking distance) is also a popular activity. The area teems with wildlife, including deer, wild turkey, songbirds & woodpeckers.

Irene's yurt was super cozy and unique. Even with it being sub-freezing outside the fireplace kept us warm (just make sure to bring plenty of firewood during the winter!). Directions were very clear and Irene was very welcoming. We would definitely visit again.

We stayed 2 nights in the yurt for an agyer Christmas getaway and it was perfect! The wood stove kept us so toasty through the chilly nights-- we woke up to the owls in the morning. Everything was just as explained and the host was amazing and so friendly! We were able to have peaceful family time without wifi and just playing games and eating good food! We are off the grid kind of campers, so we even showered in the outhouse in December! What a cool touch that was to the place!
The yurt was super comfy and cozy with just the basics but everything you needed for off the grid experience. We would 100% stay again. Thank you for the beautiful weekend!

We loved staying in a cozy cabin at Antelope base camp. It was cold outside but the room was warm and there was plenty of warm bedding and pillows. The bathrooms & showers were super convenient, very clean, and heated (!) so you never walked into a cold bathroom or shower. The WiFi was great to have. There are so many places to explore from Antelope. We will be back.

I absolutely loved this site! The entire camp was beautiful, spotless, and clearly very well cared for. It was such a unique and fun bonus that it’s located next to a skating school. The heated tents were incredibly cozy, and the heated mattress pads took the comfort to the next level—truly the icing on the cake.
But the real highlight was the sauna. The walk up to it was well maintained and felt like a charming little adventure, complete with footbridges that made it even more special. The sauna itself was tucked away in the most stunning, peaceful spot right alongside the stream—so serene and dreamy, it felt like something straight out of a postcard.

Weekend Trip to Antelope Basecamp
We stayed in A-frame #5 in early December. It hovered around freezing for most of our stay, but the room was warm, well-lit, had plenty of outlets, and pretty solid wi-fi. We brought a folding table and some board games and had a great time. The bathrooms and shower were clean and well-maintained. Weekend Trip to The Forest Cupcake
Irene's place is pure magic. I've stayed at some pretty unique and amazing Hip Camps, but this was most definitely in the top two. The yurt itself is so comfortable and cozy; nothing like what you would get at a state park. The wood stove kept us warm all night, and the bed/sheets/pillows were heavenly. We unfortunately had an overcast night, so we didn't get to enjoy the stars (although I have no doubt that this would be a phenomenal stargazing location), but we did get to fall asleep to the sounds of owls all around us. Irene has put so many little touches into her property/yurt that make it feel like you are in another land, yet you're so close to the adorable city of Hood River, or The Dalles for bigger box stores. Please be sure to walk up the hill to find the bench by the tree. The views are spectacular! Thank you Irene, for everything. I hope to come back in every season. :)

My second stay for the new moon skies & lucked out again with clear skies for the light show!! We went over to the Clarno Unit of the John Day Fossil National Monument & loved it. Then we drove on over to John Day & looked around a bit before heading back. An extra bonus is the resident herd of mule deer that bed down for the night across the street in a large vacant lot while we watched the stars around the firepit. Will be back!
