GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family. There is no shower, but there is a portable toilet with a wash station located outside. We do provide a full 5-gallon water cooler for drinking since there is no running water. For cooking there is a 24" Blackstone 2-burner griddle, and small propane cans are provided. Also, the cabin is furnished with a small supply of pots and pans. There is a battery that provides lighting, and phone charging is available in the cabin. During the cooler months, there is a small wood stove for heating, and firewood is provided. The cabin sleeps 2, but there is room for a camper and/or tents. This campsite is meant to be very simple, so you should plan on bringing whatever you may need/want for camping.

We always enjoy staying at Jared and Stephanie's place. I've reviewed it positively many times. We've made it one of our go-to stops for overnighting along this stretch of the I-5 freeway. The RV pad has full hookups and is large enough for our longer rig- we are sometimes 36 feet with our cargo trailer on. The view from the hillside is beautiful and it's very peaceful at night. Jered is a good communicator and will make sure you have whatever you need. Don't hesitate to stay here!

This hilltop retreat was perfect and exactly what we needed. Private, peaceful and all the beautiful scenes and weather we love to watch and witness. Layers of fog in the morning, views of clouds on the distant mountains, sounds of frogs and whistling wind, mix of sun and rain. For us was just perfect. The retreat itself was more than amble space for our 33’ RV, full hookups, our dogs loved it and the hosts Jared and Stephane were kind, responsive and very gracious. They truly made sure our stay was wonderful. I highly recommend staying and know we will be back again!

Our host was so incredibly hospitable! Every little thing we needed was already available. The way Trent took care of us during our stay, and was available for anything we needed, was beyond wonderful. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

We arrived a little earlier than the check-in time, but the host greeted us warmly. Compared to other unoccupied sites, I noticed he had laid down straw to help keep away the dirt on the ground. We also loved the string light. Thank you for the attention to detail!

Beautiful views! Well priced! Easy to get to! Easy to maneuver! Great and helpful host! Level and well appointed spot! Private and plenty of space to yourself! It was really nice and one of our favorite spots so far to stay on Hipcamp. We really enjoyed our stay. The town and area are very pleasant too! Don't hesitate to try it out!

My husband and I loved staying at Trent's cabin! We were looking for a quiet, romantic getaway where we could take long walks in the woods and relax in a comfortable cabin at night. The wood stove hot tub was amazing. Trent was a great host and was very attentive to our needs while also making sure we had all the privacy that we could want. I would stay here again anytime!

Its an excellent place. James is and extraordinary and his place is super! We went with the whole family and had a spectacular time. The scenery is inspiring and super comfortable whether you’re traveling as a couple or with family. We had the opportunity to be with animals and give them apples. What a beautiful camping experience! Ripple 4 had a very large and flat plot of land, very important for bigger tents and tarps. You can’t beat the proximity and sounds of the river right next to you!! Also, the add ons were amazing! We got WiFi, a hot shower, hay to lay on the ground. Portapotty was exceptionally clean. we stayed here on our way up and back to Bremerton, so this review is supplemental to my earlier one. As before, this is a great place to stay with all the hook ups and a nice view out over the hillside. Jered is a really easy-going host and again went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. I'm sure we'll stop back by on our next trip as this site is easy to get to being just a few short miles off of I-5. It's peaceful and quiet at night and well worth the quick jaunt off the freeway to get a good nights sleep.

The Hosts are always kind and considerate, going out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The place looks great as they continue to make improvements all around. All amenities for RV hook ups are available and it's a beautiful hillside overlook from the pad.. Easy to get to from I-5 but feels like you're out in the country and very peaceful. We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Geercrest - the cabins were really cozy, the kids loved the lofts, and I loved reading about the history of the property with coffee on the deck! The hosts have put a lot of thought into amenities and while rustic, it feels like a glamorous upgrade from the state park yurts and cabins we've stayed at. We can't wait to come back again. 1 night at Grace Acres Scenic RV Camping

We have REALLY enjoyed our stay at beautiful Grace Acres. We’re still here, we have decided to extend our stay. Paula and Ed are super friendly and kind hosts. Ed went above and beyond to help us out with an electric cord to use so we could have electricity. The rv spot is flat and on gravel, so no muddy paws on our Pooch. Plus the resident farm dogs, Maverick and Lucy are just wonderful and so gentle. The rolling green views are magnificent and the stars at night, look close enough to touch. Thank you for allowing us to stay on your fabulous property!

Farm stays near Lyons guide

Where to go

Along the Santiam River

Lyons offers easy access to outdoor recreation and camping along the Santiam River, which attracts anglers with its variety of salmon and trout species. Popular spots in the area include the North Santiam Recreation Area, Buell-Miller County Park, and the Santiam State Forest.

Detroit Lake and Around

The Santiam River spills out into the Detroit Reservoir, a massive lake that’s popular with water-sports enthusiasts and campers alike. The area around the reservoir is full of campsites and trails, most within the Mount Hood National Forest, and is home to the Breitenbush Hot Springs retreat center.

The Silverton Area

The area just north of Lyons, near the small city of Silverton, is full of places to explore, including the Oregon Gardens and Silver Falls State Park, known for its dense collection of waterfalls. The Bavarian-inspired town of Mount Angel is also nearby; come in mid-September to experience its annual Oktoberfest celebrations

When to go

Lyons is in the Willamette Valley, which has a relatively mild climate, with hot and somewhat dry summers and cool (but not cold temperatures) and plenty of rainfall the rest of the year. Summers here get busy, owing largely to the area’s close proximity to the densely populated Interstate-5 corridor, but things start to get quieter after Labor Day, when kids go back to school, particularly on weekdays.
